    wow! the oil dripper on the intake manifold?
    also many part were "fixed" but can you imagine having such a engine in 1909! what a luxury!

    It looks like those wobbly bevel gears soon could be stripped. It makes me wonder how many years passed before they used more bevel gears to balance the thrust loads.

    Super cool never seen 1 like it before. I just don't understand what the power is for. Is it to make the coil give spark?

    • @uppercanadachapter-aomcian4166
      @uppercanadachapter-aomcian4166  3 года назад

      The motor has no magneto. It has only a timer (points) that controls when the battery and buzz coil in the boat will spark the plug.

    Superb old motor. I remember grandpa warning with any hand cranked motor... crank with an open hand. So WHEN it kicks back it won't BREAK the hand. Ever have issues with that with this little engine?

  • @spitfireboy1
    @spitfireboy1 2 года назад +1

    The motor is connected to a battery for spark? I am taking a wild guess that the generator is no longer there or does not function possibly? It is fascinating to see such an old motor!

    • @uppercanadachapter-aomcian4166
      @uppercanadachapter-aomcian4166  2 года назад

      Early motors didn’t have magnetos. The spark was provided by the battery and buzz coil residing in the boat. The first outboard magneto came out in 1914, but battery ignition would remain an option on some motors until about 1940.

    Здравствуйте всем
    Двигатель двухтактный ну как у нас в России,. используется на бензопиле СССР, называется : (дружба).
    Сам такой - пилил лес на дрова, когда мне было 12 лет.
    Мой папа её собирал из запчастей, которые заказывал из (роспосыллторга) частями.
    Бензопила : в конечном итоге получилась разных цветов но очень надёжная и безотказная в работе!!!,
    Запускалась :летом- +30 и зимой -30 градусов, без проблем.

      Просто мой папа собрал эту бензопилу из запчастей -которые смог выписать на зароботную плату, - и отрегулировал её так чтоб она Запускалась без проблем в любую погоду.
      А когда он умер, я смог воспользоваться этой бензопилой без лишних усилий -как он мне показал в детстве.
      Чтобы, Я смог напилить дрова на холодную зиму.
      И, я конечно же этим воспользовался, леса у нас много.
