Have you considered using wood pellets or another bedding to absorb the dust levels in the loft?
i looked into it but they are not very common here

At bottom of your old loft the (screen mesh ), I hope this is strong enough to keep out rodents &foxes or coyote's (ventilation bottom wall)
im hoping the bottom is to skinny for a fox to get thru and the wire is mice sized to keep them out
