Thank you for being real. You have encouraged me to continue coloring and to be patient with myself. I loved seeing your progress.

I'm just starting out on my coloring adventure and watching many YT tutorials. I like how you showed us the first pages you did and explained how you tried different media, why you abandoned pages, what you struggled with and so forth. As a perfectionist I have this notion that starting out everything has to be perfect and if it's not then I don't have the "natural talent" so it's a waste of time, effort, money and so forth. I have to remember it's a skill to be developed. I think a lot of creative people also struggle with wanting the end result to be perfect, or even the created product to be worthy of selling. I at least struggle with that. This video helped me to realize that it truly is about the process, that coloring and all art really is, that it's probably is an exercise in mindfulness, meditation, persistence, maybe even relaxation, inner growth exc.... going with the flow. Thank you for doing this video. I'm now off to buy the coloring supplies I've been trying to convince myself not to purchase!

Thank you so much! Your comment means a lot. And it's spot on with the struggle we all face as budding artists! Best of luck in your coloring journey. Enjoy those new supplies! 💕

It is so lovely to see how you have advanced with your techniques. It is like a little time capsule. Love it.

Great to see I’ve done the same over the years. Everyone starts somewhere. I’ve kept my first book and haven’t changed a thing in. It’s my practice book. I added dates as I went so I can see my progress over the years

@@Smitharcher agreed! Always good to know we started from somewhere. I love that book despite its « mistakes » because it really was the book that taught me to love coloring 💕

Aww thank you so much! I had so much fun doing it - it was one my first where I changed up the backgrounds.

Thank you for talking about your journey to improving your skill set! I had to learn to put aside the perfectionist & enjoy the journey 😊

Thank you! Art really is a journey... but it can feel so intimidating with comparison culture for sure!

I have the german version of rooms of wonder :) I literally just colored 1 page in it with my polychromos xD maybe I will try to find the english version of one of johannas books and see what the differences are between the english and german version...possibly the paper or something like that. I also own the 160 set of the ohuhu waterbased markers :D Have to test the derwent inktense, but for testing purposes I will first get a few of them I think.
