WHEN INSPIRATION STRIKES, YOU GOTTA ACT ON IT! (also when your eyes no longer work and you have a unique angle for a typical vlog, you bring the camera)!
I feel like you're speaking even more french in your videos lately since you took time off and i love it!! its like you probably got used to speaking more french and less english while not filming, maybe im wrong but it shows how you can evolve over time as an expat and its so cool to see! love this mundane stuff too, even watching daily errands is fun to watch in another country!!!
Damon I’m a long time viewer and I just want to say how full of joy I am that you’re posting again! LITERALLY NO ONE DOES IT LIKE YOU 👏 I love this corner of the internet, you bring such a special presence. Keep it up, this is ART 💖
About the point of formal style essays. Writing in such a rigid way can feel a little bit dry/unnecessary BUT it is a great way to deepen your understanding of a topic and it forces you to read a lot more and include a lot more evidence to prove your points than other mediums. Plus, even in the formality, there's room for creativity and to create a beautiful piece of writing.
The video we were all waiting for. I wont lie, I like the more relaxed videos, no need for any antics, it cool just to see relaxing days and going about doing errands.
your video style is unmatched! So much fun to watch and get a glimpse of your day to day life, all while learning about french healthcare system and pondering over academic institutions and practices. Keep them coming, Damon!
After probably near a decade of watching you, I'm planning to move to Paris in August. Feels so full circle. What an inspiration you've been to me. Even when I wasnt thinking about it, you were in the back of my mind telling me to dream bigger for myself.
AHHHH my jaw dropped what a small world, I literally live around 13:57 !!! My favourite thing about watching Paris vlogs is spotting places I’ve been to before, this one hits a lot closer to home than usual 😌
I love watching your videos because you’re talented and you fricking remind me of me--so it’s like self analysis watching you!!!! Raves, dancing, sarcastic AF, curious, I got my Masters in Paris and Bretagne and speak French fluently, no American accent, Spanish, and Italian. Polyglot. Love thrifting, nutrition, clean eating, helping others, my awesome Cajun family in Louisiana--love my grandparents and cousins! I’m definitely a travelaholic!!!!!! I’ve not been back to France since before Covid--can’t wait to go back and EAT and visit friends. I love the French in your videos, as I don’t need subtitles, I just understand it. Thanks for the language, philosophy, comedy, and pondering!❤❤❤❤
Thank you thank you for posting. I’ve missed these glimpses of your life. I get why you needed to take a break and I celebrate that you did that for yourself. And I’m REALLY glad you’re back! I really look forward to your videos! If ever you doubt that what you’re doing has any value, yes it does. ❤
first things first, i am so living for you being back with the videos ✨ interesting that you mention why you can't do daily contact lenses...i take a ton of medication for chronic illnesses and it's always a big thing to consider when travelling or thinking of living of moving countries
Damon really out here conquering the world learning everything he possibly can to increase his quality of life. Even something as simple as learning how to use chopsticks to further enjoy the experience of his go-to meals à la cuisine asiatique. You use those chopsticks Damon! 🍜
Loving that you're showing more everyday interactions in french! It helps me in learning the language myself. Question: after the clerk tells you that the bolt/screw you were looking for is upstairs, you say "allez-t'age (?)" But, probably not bc why would you mention their age.. what word are you using there? @11:45 help! - signed a slow, but consistent french learner 😊
I'm a beginner french learner myself, but I believe the word they were using was "a l'étage" which means upstairs! French can be so confusing when spoken fast ahah
Love your content!!!
I'm working on my french and you speaking it helps. It helps even more when it's half English, half French haha. Because the most difficult words you say in english
4:00 same thing happens in Argentina and im so over it. you have to make an appointment, then go purchase a "bono" before your appointment even tho you already have a medical care assistance thingy. then you go to the pharmacy to buy meds, and they also ask if you have another one of those "mutuales" ahhhhhhh i hate adult life
J’étais à Paris la semaine dernière pour la première fois!! Et je suis passée au passage Molière par hasard, tellllleement de belles choses! Des beaux papiers japonais et des belles choses de papeterie!
12:35 i bet you could just look up the size of that screw (not the one with the sharp point in the end) and find a replacement at the gardware store. It might not look the same but itll get the job done without having to buy a whole new mic.
A lot of the times one of the reasons why you can get asked to do a dissertation is not to test on whether you have learned the subject but as a way for you to do more research and go into the topic. Usually in a dissertation you pick the topic or the angle that you write about. It's not a checklist of regurgitating facts but it should be an analysis lead by you about the certain aspects you find interesting. For example a dissertation for an english degree isn't a list of what was discussed in the lectures but it could be something like "The effects of how language has influenced Comic Books" or whatever. It's applying what you have learned and researching more into in to arrive to your own conclusions. I hope that makes sense?
would love to get a how you film, storyboard, and edit your videos. the cinematic feel to your vlogs is soooooo entrancing!! particularly interested to know what camera you use 👀
So I watched this video after not seeing any of yours for a long time. First, just wanted to thank you for sharing your interesting life and point of view. Also, I wanted to say how impressive it is to see the maturity that has developed in your content. From the entire approach, to the technical skill- it’s just so apparent that you keep getting so much better. Whether or not it is apparent to you, I can see it and wanted to say kudos!!🎉
I like what you said about having a bit of an accent, I think it’s good when people have accents when speaking other languages, just like I like hearing people have accents when speaking English to me. Let’s me know where they’re from and how much effort went into learning it
I love how you make yourself have a great laugh😂! I really miss walking around Paris. I wish I run into you the next time I’m there!! Better yet, come visit Chicago!!!
This is my first video of yours I have watched it was so chaotic, but also looked like a fun day lol. Subscribed hope you make more videos in the future.
Omg I can't believe that you're going to the Baltics!!! I'm from Latvia and honestly didn't think I'd ever see you coming to the Baltics. Hope you're gonna have a great time there :)
Your constant commitment to learning is so inspiring 🥲🥹 sometimes I forget that there are a million fascinating things to learn on top of what i already focus on. Thanks for the reminder that curiosity should be limitless ❤
Such a great video! I’m actually rewatching it again now, even though it’s basically a lifestyle vlog, but you manage to make literally anything engaging Damon istg

Damon, you are so entertaining and manage to make your every day feel authentic, aesthetic, and surreal at the same time. Happy to have you back.
The video we were all waiting for. I wont lie, I like the more relaxed videos, no need for any antics, it cool just to see relaxing days and going about doing errands.
We were all waiting for this and hoping it would be sarcastic, chaotic and witty as it should be 😂 slay
Seeing the food you made today made me think of your cooking video like a year and a half ago and all I can say is … GROWTH
French bureaucracy -- yes even for eye drops -- is your absolutely funniest material. 🤣

I love how you can transform a simple vlog into a philosophical thought-provoking impulse at the end. Really enjoyed this!
your video style is unmatched! So much fun to watch and get a glimpse of your day to day life, all while learning about french healthcare system and pondering over academic institutions and practices. Keep them coming, Damon!
it is truly lovely to see how enchanted you are by the city even after you've been living there for a while
Damon really read the comments about us liking this format and he’s DELIVERING MORE
Thank you for providing me with a mini trip to Paris this morning.

I like what you said about having a bit of an accent, I think it’s good when people have accents when speaking other languages, just like I like hearing people have accents when speaking English to me. Let’s me know where they’re from and how much effort went into learning it
