Too many people are comparing these to the Mocha and even going as far to say that these are worse. But in my opinion, in-hand, these feels WAY better. Materials are on point.
I ordered the palominos yesterday on StockX cuz their pretty much retail already on there so just went ahead and did it. And I hit on the burgundy 5s so I consider it a good week lol I really wanted those burgundies cuz I couldn’t afford them when they came out when I was young so i was kinda happy everyone let them sit, made it easier for me lol congrats on the baby bro
I'll probably try to cop when they drop. I copped the AJ3 Palominos, which satisfies the mocha/brown requirement, so I won't be too sad if I cop an L. Honestly, I'm thinning the herd of kicks I don't wear too often as well. These look classy and timeless.
I remember the mochas being like $800 at one point. Then Nike did a shock drop that tanked the price a bit and then StockX got caught sending fakes and the price fell to mid $300s

It’s not a nubuck leather… it’s slightly untreated leather (great quality). Which is prone to stains if not treated properly. Took mine to a boot maker as I live above one and he gave me some wax (beeswax) to treat the material and waterproof them! This said if not waxed these will patina nicely over time :).
The Jordan 1 high palomino was actually designed more after the chocolate palomino horse. They have a nice chocolate coat just like the shoe. And the golden palomino was referenced on the tag and box hence the gold Nike branding on the box and gold/yellowy Nike tag on the tongue of the shoe.

These j1 Palominos should have been named the Mochas! I have 2 pairs of Mochas and put up for sale immediately after buying my pair. I compared them next to each other and it was no brainer. Mochas had that typical light contrast and when compared next to the palominos i was blown away. Never looked at the Mochas the same again thats why i had to let go of them because they will loose value over the palominos. They executed these just right will be a classic in the J1 color history line.

Of all the shoes with similar colorblocking to the mochas, they dont really have the value most people think they do. Only shoe that really doesn't have that value is taxis. Black toes and the Best Hands in the Game pack all have higher value than mochas... at least as far as I know. These shoes are ok. I don't expect these to resale for 250, but if they did, I guess the market is setting itself. I would try to buy on discount and be ok if it never happens.
