  • Good day my friends. Well this recovery may take a little longer than I thought and sure has been a challenge. I did try to ride again and I share what happened, Thanks for traveling with me.

Fear of the unknown is the worst part of being sick or healing. It seems you are doing what you know to do, so keep trusting the process, and pray for the healing to come! You are brave!

Thank you sweetie, really appreciate it!!!! 🥰 If I hand larger hands I am pretty sure this wouldn't have been so bad. 😄 After seeing some of the comments I am wearing the brace all the time for the next several weeks. 😉 I just have to accept each day as it is, it will get healed faster if I stop trying to force it. 💖 Sending hugs my dear friend and love 🌺💖😄🚐👍

Hello, oh my goodness I can hear the desperation in your voice. I hear you. I can’t do anything else but listen and support you from a huge distance. Now I watched a video the other day called”can you wiggle your toes?”, by a man without legs. It really can help pick you up mentally if you think about it and wriggle your toes. I know you are hurt but you have to give your body good fuel to help heal. Now stop thinking about what you can’t do and just do the things you can. I hope my words are taken the way I mean them with love and care. Now you look after you so you can heal. Stay safe. Sending strength, love and hugs❤️❤️❤️🤗🤗🤗🤗

It is so back & forth constantly and effects my daily functions out here. Thank you for your powerful words and sending hugs and appreciation 💖💖💖😘

God's got this. Take it easy with the thumb... any exercises for it shouldn't be done until 4-6 weeks, especially with that lump.... that's concerning (medical background).
    ♡♡♡
That joint can have a break and still be mobile.

Thank you sweetie, I am so afraid of losing the mobility permanently if it rest to long but than it hurts now. 😢 I know I am in such a hurry to have my hand back because it need it desperately out here. Thank you for your words of wisdom and prayers. 😍 Sending hugs 🌺💖😄🚐👍

Irene, Please stop forcing your thumb to do what it can't right now. You are doing more damage. Put the brace back on and allow time for the bruised tissue and muscle damage to heal. That will take at least 4/6 weeks. Then you can slowly start moving it, right now it is swollen inside and putting pressure on the nerves causing it to jump like it does.
I fell and broke my wrist in 3 places and shattered the bone. I had surgery and have a plate and 7 screws holding it together. Yes very frustrating because it was my Wright wrist. I also had the nerve damage. I was in a cast for 6 wks. Then wore a support brace for a long time. Taking it off to exercise my hand to get it working again. Very slow process and was losing muscle in my hand. Took me a full year to get it working but, has never been normal. I can't twist to open things, not able to bend up and down like before and any repetitive use makes it hurt. Not able to fully open my hand due to the muscle and tendon shrinkage. I was shocked at how much damage was done but, very little pain when it happened. I know you don't want to have it checked but, you could lose usage if left like it is.
Believe me I live on my own and don't ask for help this was a huge change to my life. Please just have it looked at. The older we get the slower we heal. I was 61 when this happened, now 70 and still have problems with it. Good luck. 😊💃

@@IrenesVanventures , I hope you know my message was not to scare you. I told my story because I didn't think my wrist was going to be that severe or take so long to heal. I want the best outcome for you so you may continue your journey doing what you love.❤😊💃

That advice resonates with me, slow, gentle -very gentle stretching but stopping at the moment you feel any pain. The twinging thing is a sign you are overtaxing the injury - I fell a LOT so I am sort of a pro at healing? (hehe)

This! I broke my kneecap in 2014 and now have pins through my kneecap and it's wrapped in wire. Healing time is critical as well as movement after to maintain or gain back range of motion. She really should see a doctor but Irene knows her circumstances the best. She's a smart lady so I know she'll do what is right for her.

Hey girl! I see you're struggling emotionally. That's okay. It happens. So I'm going to share my secrets for staying emotionally healthy through illness and disability.
#1 Be assured, your thumb *will* get better. Just keep doing what you're doing.
#2 I wrenched a knuckle, too, at about the same age and it's scary when it doesn't get better right away. That's why I tried to warn you it's going to take some time because we're not as young as we used to be. It'll gradually get better and your mobility will improve as you go along. However, count on several months to a year before it's fully back to normal. Why? Because you don't want to put yourself on an emotional roller coaster of hope and disappointment. It will heal in its own good time. Again, just keep doing what you're doing and you *will* heal.
#3 Sleep, sleep, sleep. Do not short yourself on sleep. If you keep yourself well rested, it will help you cope, emotionally, and it will help you *heal* because we *heal* in our sleep. So now is the time for a little more sleep.
#4 This I learned from my wise and dear departed grandma. Focus on what you *can* do, not what you can't. Ask yourself, "What do I want to do that I still *can* do? What do I love doing that I didn't have time for, before?" For a sense of accomplishment, focus on small victories like finishing that book you were putting off or learning something new. Focus on self-care, pampering yourself, doing what you love as much as you possibly can. Play, play, play.
If you do these things you'll forget about the injury until one day you find yourself surprised, that while you were busy doing other things, it got better.
Thank you for the video. I miss your videos because I think you're a lovely person and I enjoy seeing you doing you. You do you so well! 💖💕

Thank you so much sweetie for the wonderful suggestions 🤗 I definitely have been resting more and wearing the brace. 😁 I have had to just accept this will take a while to heal and I don't want do anything to delay its healing process. I am eating better so that has helped me a lot. I honestly have been struggling for a while with making videos and vlogging because it takes so much time and energy. I just love photography because it matches my pace and personality. I feel that is where I shine so I am glad you are following me on Instagram. 😍📸💖 Sending hugs and love 🌺💖😁🚐👍

I can understand why IG is a better fit. Fb and youtube are my best fits, both serving different needs and where I devote my free time. I really hear where you're coming from, Irene. When something out of my ordinary disability stuff slaps me in the face it is really difficult to wrap my head around it and to deal with it in the way that I deal with my everyday stuff. It's like a new level of mental and spiritual energy I have to figure out how to not deplete. I will be praying for you and I might drop you a note in IG. I hope you're using voice to text a lot also sometimes having to go back and clean up your errors is a pain in the butt. You already know you're in my heart and you already know I will be praying for you.

    • @IrenesVanventures
      @IrenesVanventures  3 года назад

Most of that is edema that I fight from the inflammation i fight from all my joints plus struggle high blood pressure. The water retention varies a lot but I refused to add more medications into my body because what I now take have taken a toll on my body. I am now 60 years old not trying to impress anyone with my looks but see as much as I can before my body fails me completely because I travel with spinal disc disease, adult tethered cord syndrome in the spine, neuropathy, severe arthritis in my hips and in other joints, type 2 diabetes that has been diet controlled for 30 years and now battle high blood pressure with diet. I started my channel as a person with disabilities trying to travel and in the beginning keep me and my two dogs together because I couldn't work anymore. If you are here for looks and body weight of a woman than this isn't the channel for you and shows how immature you are. Some of the best people I have met and great friends of mine are over weght and have the heart of gold. I don't judge people for there weight, race, religion or etc. and I don't need people here who do. I am into the beauty of nature and sharing that inspite of my disabilities. 😉
