I am a professional upholsterer. I thought your video was great. It was to the point, I got to see the tools in use and your descriptions were on point. I've been thinking about getting the C.S. Osborne 120 1/2 to add to my tools. I'm ordering one today to add to all of my other staple pulling tools.
Sometimes you just have to modify a tool to suit your needs. A fine file, a few minutes and Bob's you aunty. Just because you couldn't get the tool under the staple doesn't mean it's a bad tool and does not work. In actual fact it's a great tool for lifting staples equally not to break off the embedded legs that (mostly) break off when preyed out unevenly. That anvil press action is great and works well. Just modify your tool a bit.Give it another try. You'll be surprised. I'm not saying the other tools are not good. All tools are great that are used correctly. The right tool at the right time. Sometimes it's impractical to use one tool over the other. These staples you're trying to remove are too narrow for the foot anvil. Great video. Thanks
I have one like the Arianiau that has a hardened not very wide like that one that has a sharp but rounded tip and the catch/grabber closer to the tip that actually works. It costs around $45 and I got it off a woodworking magazine I get bulk sandpaper from at a huge discount. Random end rolls that are somewhat assorted. (German company I think.) I'm sure someone knows the woodworking product magazine name or the tool name. The name of the tool rubbed off though on mine!

Great video. Thanks
Yup, I flattened the tip on mine with a small hammer. Works great now.😊
Thank you! This was super helpful as I decide how I'm going to unstaple old canvases from their stretchers!
You are so welcome!
Thanks for this to-the-point and immensely helpful video.
Oh boy. I just bought an arianiau. Thank you very much for this video. I will go and return it and buy one of the others.
Liked this video. Maybe you'd like to review the Nail Hunter from Nail Jack Tools for pulling staples/tacks/nails.

Oh I glued a small magnet onto it as well.
Thank you!
Easy staples. Mine are embedded in the wood.
Yes, unfortunately sometimes it takes some digging
what tool should use to remove embedded tack nails from wood.?
The Osborne 120-1/2 or the Berry's tool are both useful for removing tacks
Thank a lot
We have a #4. Just been googling to check if we've been using it wrong... But no, it's just rubbish 🤣🤣🤣
Thanks. The worse part of the job is the stable removal.
