Alicia, so Shoji’s(octopus arm kid) motivation to be a hero is so that his arms can comfort those in need. He is apart of the majority of the population that have these kinds of mutations and they are even discriminated because of it. I really like Shoji, so let’s give him some love whenever we get to see him again❤❤❤ Edit: Just got to the end of the video and found out that we’re almost done with this season. What a fire character analysis of Bakugo, Probably one of the best understandings of both who he is as a character and how the writer wanted him to be perceived out of all the reactions I've seen AND you got this all in season 1! I'm loving the reactions! I am so excited so see you explore both this and One Piece (two of my favorite anime/manga) further. The deeper you look into them (mostly One Piece in this regard) the more I think you will enjoy them!
She literally broke down his character and guessed his ENTIRE character Arc after just one season of seeing him. I still have friends who hate Bakugo because they were too focused on the character he used to be and not the character he became.
The reason why Momo dresses so lightly is, because the things that she creates with her quirk come out of her skin. So if she was fully covered up, the item would either end up inside her clothes, or rip her clothes every time. The latter happened when she created the big isolation blanket, because the exposed skin just didn't have enough area to make something so big, it came out in places were her clothes still were... which were consequently ripped when it came out. Not expecting Alicia calling for a child to die? Well... if you had asked me before AoT and Gundam Mercury, that would have been a clear no, but now? :P Yeah, no sympathy for Bakugo from me. Even while he was the local top dog, he was abusive as hell. So if he's now feeling inadequate, I'd say that's a small dose of karma for him. Who knows, maybe having it rubbed into his face that the world does not revolve solely around him alone and being served a couple portions of humble pie, will help him get the shittyness out of his personality. That guy should have been in therapy years ago... All Might in his muscle form not smiling is scary.
While I agree Mineta is kinda cringe, I have to give him a pass on hugging Tsuyu there. If you watch his face, all he's concentrating on in what's happening to Eraser and the chance that the villains might leave. If he wasn't so small, he most likely would have simply grabbed around Tsuyu completely as despite being a cringelord, he's also like a 15 year old child who was panicking thinking he was going to die and is happy that he thinks that he's going to live. You can always tell with his creepy face when he's being creepy.
one of my favorite details at the end there is that when All Might shows up, he isn't having his trademark smile. He's PISSED and can't hide it behind a smile now
At 12:47 I had to pause it because I couldn't breath I was laughing so hard. She was totally cool with it being any of the kids (preferably Mineta) but the instant Aizawa is in trouble She's like "NO!!!"

Edit: You didn't notice, but usually when All Might arrives somewhere he always has a big reassuring smile on his face, but this time, he looks visibly angry and frustrated that this happened because he went out of his way to save other people instead of going there instantly. Not that it was wrong, but it's just what it is. Next episode is my favorite of the entire series, I hope you love the iconic episode of this show as much as I do.
I think Midoryia is a great character. Honestly I don't why people don't like him. About bakugo I agree to some degree Whenever you see him do rash things it's not for validation from others if he did wanted to look for validation he wouldn't be a hot head towards everyone else, like tsu said he got an amazing quirk but his personality isn't great wouldn't go far for it. Proving himself? Yup I agree with that because he's passionate about being the greatest he just wants to challenge the toughest person he finds. Only time he's insecure/angry etc is with deku because of the misunderstanding and not knowing how to deal with deku. He got an superiority complex too that adds the fuel too
Here we see why its actually a good thing Kirishima and Bakugo attacked first and prompted Kurogiri to warp as many as possible of the students away. If 13 had started with that attack and all the students remained together, he could have opened his warp behind them like he did the 13 and killed many of them. Just as Deku irresponsibly running in ended up helping Bakugo in ep2, they did the same for the class here. Heros move before they think is ironically both what makes things work out but at the same time is like their biggest flaw as kids lol You are the first person I've seen pick up on that aside from my friend who pointed it out to me.

SHOTO, MY BOY! Shoto is definitely my favorite MHA Character, next to Midoriya. There's very few Characters I don't like in MHA and it's hard to rank them. I just know my top three are Midoriya, Shoto, and Tsu. Mineta, on the other hand, is definitely one character I wish would disappear. Oh, and Eraser Head is my favorite adult hero!

Yeah, the Deku hate confuses and annoys me. Shoto is a powerhouse with issues. Denki kind of got shafted in so far as electric powers go. My main point of constructive criticism for MHA: Less horny. Also, it would be very interesting to see Momo's physique actually effected by her use of lipids, like looking emaciated and flat after a fight. There are reasons why Aizawa is my sister's favorite. Second is.... well you'll see later. You do NOT want Skigaraki touching you. Uno reverse card! Shoji is a good due who cares. And apparently one of his big struggles was omitted from the anime. Beaky beast. Kachan is doing SO much better at this impromptu fight for survival than he would have at rescue training. I get having empathy for Bakugo, but I'd say he has had far more popularity than he's earned. Combined with the Deku hate, I have concerns about the people voting. Ojiro with the hit and fade tactics. Good use of urban terrain. Edge birb is arguably the sleeper powerhouse of 1-A. Team work still makes the dream work. In regards to the fleshy arms guy, Shoji, you should be made aware of something that's been almost entirely cut from the manga. Racism. Individuals with quirks that permanently alter their human appearance are subject to discrimination from various groups, there's even a whole bit later on where they highlight a group directly based on the KKK. The anime adaptation has outright removed references to this plotline, which has gone on to bite them in the ass since it has become a central plot element for an arc, one that will be a part of the upcoming SEASON 7. So any time you see a character with a mutant type quirk, be sure to keep this in mind, because that's what the manga intends you to do.
It's been so long since I originally started and dropped MHA, but back then, I also didn't like Deku. I was around 16-18 at the time, but I dunno if that played a role in it or anything. Don't get me wrong, for the first two seasons, I remember feeling like Deku was a compelling character back then. Season 3 is where I started to change my mind, and the events of Season 4 put the nail in the proverbial coffin for me in regards to Deku as a character. I started reading the manga when Season 2 finished and stopped somewhere between where I think season 5 ends and season 6 begins, due to what I felt was a certain ass-pull. Also, I felt like every other shounen protagonist (minus Boruto, but to be fair, he's not really bad or anything) that I've seen was better. Goku (TSO_Sage's recent video on Goku pretty much sums up anything I've got to say about him), Naruto, Luffy, Ichigo, Gon, the Elric Brothers (dunno if I'd count FMA as a shounen, but still), Tanjiro, hell even Asta (a fellow short king) were more compelling characters to me, with more compelling story and character arcs. Now, I'm in my mid-20s with a different mindset, and so far, this reaction series has been reminding me how good this 1st season really was. So, I'm gonna do what I did with Stranger Things when I started to lose all interest in watching the show when Season 4 was airing: I'm gonna re-watch the 1st season (this time, through this reaction series) to see if my mind changes about Deku and MHA as a whole, and I'll continue watching if my interest doesn't wane. And I'm doing it like this because I don't think I can watch this show without losing interest unless I'm watching it with someone as passionate and excited for the show as Alicia is, and no one I know cares to watch MHA. So, yeah. This should be interesting.

I'm gonna write it as spoiler free and not hinting at what's to come but it's hard to do it fully. . . . . . . . . . . People's issue with Deku buy and large are that he's always the moral high ground, within the world he's pretty overpowered (theoretically if he can master One For All) and the only character development some people feel he gets is progression of his power. His character starts off a "perfect hero".
