I grind this line for the death star, ended up loving the whole lines, especially AT2 + tier 8 until 10. Tortoise is basically obese version of su-122-54 which trade off the speed for gun depression
@jordan_2806 Nah, it is harder to angle the Jadg in some situations because the Tortoise has its gun more to the front while the Jadg has that massive belly below the superstructure. I love both tanks doe but I wouldnt frontline on the Jadg as much as I do on the tortoise.
tortoise is a downgrade from at15 tier for tier, it has lower dpm, penetration is not so good and the armor is butter for anything it faces, not to mention the giant weak spot on the top

For me personaly, people grind the Death Star line is because of one thing: *To derp some poor SOB in their face with a 1000HP HESH shell.* Because every TD up to Tortoise is just simply *a competitive vehicle in a wrong current environment.* ( Which favor quick and mobile vehicle)
Hesh actually does 1300 average, even bigger sad. I don't think the tanks are competitive, the armor isn't really usable. It sort of just exists, it's very hard to get more bounces through skill. You can't really angle or go hulldown and stuff like that.
Same,when i entered the game,i wanted to got the highest damage(as a noob,always). Im suck, i sell the AT2 . Then i tried medium and heavy german, and then light american bulldog. Then i realize every tank is different. So i go back to AT2 and grind to tortoise lmao, Great line up
I think the Tortoise to the 183 is the worst transition in any tech tree line. The two play nothing alike. The Badger would have been a much better fit in that place, just like WoT. Not sure why they decided to put the 183 there instead.
Just to say i never want to play the 183 unless i wanted to, 2 reasons: 1. Dispersion, i dont really bother the dispersion that much since im use to the KV-2's accuracy. 2. Camo rating, the worst ive ever encourter on a tank, the camo raring, im sitting at maybe around 200-300m or so i got spotted right of the bat
I grinded down this line as my first line, definitely needs more love and after playing this line for so long, it’s hard to adjust to more conventional tanks
If the kunze panzer event requires 2500 damage per battle. You only need 3 ap shots in the 183 to achieve it. And if you managed to pen more. Along with the 290 extra damage per 3 shots, you have extra damage to compensate the battles where you die early.
183 was my first X cuz i really enjoyed ats. But after few games, that accurancy... Made me park it in garage and im playing it just for fun occasionaly
I had this premium AT 15A (for free), was actually good from recent DPM buffs, it's very solid tank to play/for training yourself on grinding the British AT line. The armor especially on mantlet is also better and stronger than the original AT 15 too, try it. ;)
Watching this with excitement, because it is one of the tanks I like. Droodles start playing to show us how great this tank is, and as soon he pokes he completely deletes his healh, and saying 3:24 "I managed to work this correctly" I am speechless.........................................
Is the grind worth it since I already have the jageru? It’s got lower but still the next highest alpha, no hesh and it’s slower. Yet I still get some 1200 HE rolls of I manage to pen. Currently I’m only considering getting it for the memes and gamemodes. So is it worth the grind?
Yes, ATs are worth it. DPM is god with the armor if you know how to angle effectively. I just hate the Tortoise coz i can pen the other totoise in the face showing how WEAK the armor is. It should be inpenetable like t95. You cant use dpm if you cant be in front of people
What doesn’t make sense is that the FV183 is on a line that is complete DPM. And that the FV4005 doesn’t use the 183 gun. But actually uses a 123mm gun.
The Tortoise stock grind drove me insane but after I got the Tier X gun it was bearable, once you get the 183 you realize that its aim and pray that the rng doesn't feel like sending the shell too far off target, for the most part in my experience it behaves, but from time to time you'll be fully aimed in and it'll completely miss, overall it's fun but it can be frustrating when those misses happen.
I struggled hard with each tank after the at7. Until crew hit 100%. Does crew effect this line more than others? I don't know. Maybe I just hit my stride at the same point.
I just sold this tank cuz I snapped after missing 13shells, yeah it's not a typo 13 shells on oasis palms 2 weeks ago, and wg trolled me by announcing the return of uprising after I sold it, the luck is very real.
There are a whole 3 vehicles being better than the tortoise at tier IX, one being a direct upgrade and other two having a certain aspect way better than the tort. Jagtiger. More dpm, 60 more alpha, better armour, better speed, lesser size, no "YOUR GUNNER IS DEAD, WE ARE TRYING TO COVER HIM UP" in the giant cupola, direct upgrade SU-122-54: drastically bigger DPM and speed, has a troll gun mantlet that bounces all shots T-95: drastically greater in alpha and armour, also has the speed boost to get into position or out of tricky situations.
Man I love the Tortoise on WoT(not Blitz) they buffed the armor on it, so it's like T95 but with a tiny less armor and around 4400 or more DPM, I really wish in blitz they would buff it.
People asking why the Tortoise is so bad, it has the same armor as the AT 15 but, I mean armor is a bit obsolete in T9-10 as everyone knows how to switch shells and weakspots ect... Even superheavies are mostly penable (even the Maus) and having a better gun is the best deal (I think) in T9-10.
Honestly I think the Tortoise is decent. You have a nice alpha dmg, dpm not to mention HE pen you have. But the hatch can be troublesome so because of that I try to use the tanks gun arc and also hide the hatch. And guess what I manage to get a decent amount of bounces. You just have to snap your shot don't hesitate then back into your cover a bit.
Short answer: Great line, meh tier 10; great line in general Long answer: E100 line is good till fhe E75 (tier 6-9 all have STRONK armor when angled correctly) and after that (E100) a high skill level is needed to play well due to the flat turret The Obj. 268 line is great (especially the BLyat-10 on the ISU & 704) and is very straightforward in gameplay. One lesser known fact is that the tier 7-10 are based on lower tier heavies. That means you can sidescrape in a pinch against smaller caliber guns to survive a bit longer; coupled with all of them having big un-pennable gun mantlets, the armor is more trolling than you think
I had my ups and downs with that line , tortoise was a struggle , and missing shots with the hammer sucked lol waste of credits for me but now that ima 50%er I want to actually try and play it better then before knowing more of the mechanics and play style for most tanks now . Try to give it LUV y’all lol
At least 183 has higher accuracy than kv-2 and one time I had 1 on 1 with at 15 with my t26e4 fuh it was the hardest battle i had. I had to bounce almost 7 shot and still lose against at 15 because of it insane dpm
Droodles has a point when he says the at15 is the deadliest tank tier for tier but I just can’t agree... if you think about it the kv2 is so much deadlier because it can one shot just about everything tier 6 and 5

Sure, its cool when u hit someone with the hesh In A weak spot. i once dealed 1900 damage cause i hit enemys fuel tank and started burning, but if u miss ur shot or the Shell hits A module like tracks, u gonna get killed fast. Plus shooting with hesh wich is A prenium shell Will cost u alot. So instead of grinding fv 183 go for the fv4005
Sorry droodles, i hate a British tank destroyer tech tree because there are a slow tank with a great mobility, i hate the tank that just have a great mobility and has a worst speed (except fv215b 183)
It's trash, FV215 B 183 is the only tank that had me at 30% win ratio. It's slower then the tortoise and has a 25sec to 22sec reload. It's spotted easily because of its massive size. Playing this tank felt like the entire team depended on me, only good as a base camper and even so, how many maps actually have that spawn camping in a supporting tank. The Tourtoise is amazing once maxed and full equipment. Tourtoise tactics, stay in front with mt's, they can watch your back from flankers. When dealing with the opposite side, 1- shoot tracks 2x, 2- then attack the sides. Don't stick to corner wall for sniping or you'll show your side when backing up., have a distance so that u don't need to turn ur tank when backing.

Ive hit 1625 dmg with HESG shells quiet alot in a single game, and because they can pen almost any tank with HESH i dont really use any other shells

With my E75 it took 13:,something sec to reload so when coming face to face with AT15 or At they keep shooting sometime they high role its annoying
