A lot of people like to go on, and on, about how Fallen Down is both comforting /and/ unsettling. No one ever says why. It's cause it's the first sense of comfort you're offered in a world that you just got thrown into and then nearly died within. It's because Toriel knows it hurts, she knows you're terrified, and that either you're doomed to the underground or you're gonna have to go through hell to get back to the surface. It's because you want to be home. It's terrifying, the thought of it- who knows the life Frisk had before they fell down? She's trying to make life as easy as possible, but it's gonna suck. Your whole life has been, as far as you're concerned, irreversibly changed. Who knows what'll come next? But, for now, you can stay here. You can rest. Heal from your injuries, and process your situation. You've got a long road ahead of yourself. That's why Toby Fox is a genius.

I brought her flowers. It was our third date, and even though I didn't want to rush things, I just knew she was the one. Every time I saw her, it was like the Sun beamed stronger. Every time she spoke, all other sounds on Earth went quiet. Every time she smiled, it felt like the world slowed down to take a picture. She had told me months ago which flower was her favorite, and I would always remember it, so when I showed up with a bouquet, her smile was bigger than ever, and seeing that, I nearly melted on the spot. We went to a cafe, as it was still morning. We talked and talked for hours. Time wasn't important, for if I could, I'd spend eternity alongside her. Time went on, and we kept going to the same place. We became regulars there, and didn't even have to order anymore, because the staff already knew what we'd want and I knew secretly, they were cheering us on. I brought her flowers. This time, it was a special day, the day she said yes. I was euphoric and so was the people in the cafe, who always rooted for us. I can still remember the way her beautiful green eyes were shining and gleaming with happy tears like precious emeralds. Our wedding was in the woods, because she was a nature lover. Green was her color. So much so that everytime we weren't together and I saw green, I'd think of her. Green was hers, and only hers. We had three kids. A boy and two girls. They took after their beautiful mother. Taking in her beautiful green eyes, and her beautiful smile. Their pretty little faces reminded me each day that love was the best thing that ever happened to me, who once didn't believe in it. As they grew older, so did we. They were full of energy, going to college, getting to know people. They were full of life. But we, we were tired. We were walking slower, doing stuff in our own time. I was sitting with her on her hospital bed. Never having left her side. She knew she was going to be leaving first and I knew it too. Every time id see her, pain enveloped my body. But she was always sharp. She knew how much I loved her and how much pain it was bringing me seeing her like this. The Day came. The Final Day. It was just me and her. She held my hand and i held hers as we just stared at each other for hours. She then told me how much she loved me and how she was so lucky to have met such a beautiful man. I replied back in the same words. Then. She took her final breathe, and it broke me. The thought that I would never see that beaming smile again, never listen to her singing her favorite songs, or never again look at those perfect green eyes. That alone was enough for me to want to go meet her. Then, my time came as well. But I wasn’t scared. I knew my children were going to take care of themselves. So I died peacefully. Not knowing if there was indeed an afterlife I went in pride. I found myself in a field. A beautiful field. There were blossom trees everywhere. Beautiful lakes and mountains. The sun was setting. I was appalled at the beautiful landscape. Until I heard a beautiful soft familiar voice from behind me. “Darling?” The beautiful voice said. I turned around to see. My beautiful wife. In a beautiful dress. Smiling at me with that wonderful smile, and beautiful emerald green eyes, that cute short pink hair of hers flowing with the gentle breeze. She pounced on me as we both fell and rolled down the hill hugging each other tightly giggling and smiling as we stare into each others eyes. We look up. To find ourselves. In a beautiful. Flower field. I never forgot. I picked up a flower and put it in her hair. She smiled that beautiful smile again. I never forgot. How much she loved flowers.

The picture and the rain and the music is just so strange feeling. It gives a sense of nostalgia, even though the song nor the game are nostalgic at all for me. It's just the fact of imagining falling down into a complete other world, and thinking of the whole journey from there that the game takes you on. It just feels like such an adventure that I've dreamed of before, yet i never have. A lonely feeling, yet not alone. Fear, but such comfort.

For some unknown reasons I started crying at this song. Lately felt like I have fallen down. I think it was the realization that I have built a social cage around me and stuck in there for my whole life that hurt me. After 2020, isolation and distance learning made me realize how lonely I was. I left my only friends to a different school. I say it was a miracle I survived middle school. I was just this quiet creep with unkept hair, always wearing a hoodie and sweatpants. I think entering high school hit me the hardest, because back in middle school I honestly didn’t care/wasn’t really aware of how bad my social life is. It was looking around, seeing kids my age with huge friend groups and starting to make friends with the older kids, that made me feel terrible. And I was the weird kid who just stood in random places, pacing around with no one to talk to. I also became aware of the habit of me overthinking every little wrong thing I do, and worrying what people think of me. I became hungry to impress everyone. Though I never really acted on it, because honestly I’m scared to do anything in front of people. I hated myself for never developing social skills when I was younger. For never growing up and being less shy. I didn’t feel like I belonged. I guess I’m better now. I’ve joined a friend group, but still trying to find my footing in it. My awareness doesn’t really help, because I have no idea how to solve my problems, such as overthinking.
I'm going to high school next year. I currently have a friend group but I'm going to have to leave them for a high school. I have the same problem as you and I hate it as well but right now the only thing I can focus is getting good grades and enough sleep at night. Im happy and thankful for what I have. Im glad I have a loving family just as it is. It’s as if you can hear a faint sound, a melody. The trees, the clouds, the air, something seems to sing to you. Somber, but calm. Perhaps you’ve gone crazy? Maybe. Nevertheless, the melody comforts you. Things may not turn out okay, but the streets are filled with people who have had to be strong. Why should you not be one of them? It was our third date, and even though I didn't want to rush things, I just knew she was the one. Every time I saw her, it was like the Sun beamed stronger. Every time she spoke, all other sounds on Earth went quiet. Every time she smiled, it felt like the world slowed down to take a picture.
She had told me months ago which flower was her favorite, and I would always remember it, so when I showed up with a bouquet, her smile was bigger than ever, and seeing that, I nearly melted on the spot.
We went to a cafe, as it was still morning. We talked and talked for hours. Time wasn't important, for if I could, I'd spend eternity alongside her.
Time went on, and we kept going to the same place. We became regulars there, and didn't even have to order anymore, because the staff already knew what we'd want and I knew secretly, they were cheering us on.
I brought her flowers.
This time, it was a special day, the day she said yes. I was euphoric and so was the people in the cafe, who always rooted for us. I can still remember the way her beautiful green eyes were shining and gleaming with happy tears like precious emeralds.
Our wedding was in the woods, because she was a nature lover. Green was her color. So much so that everytime we weren't together and I saw green, I'd think of her. Green was hers, and only hers.
We had three kids. A boy and two girls. They took after their beautiful mother. Taking in her beautiful green eyes, and her beautiful smile.
Their pretty little faces reminded me each day that love was the best thing that ever happened to me, who once didn't believe in it.
As they grew older, so did we. They were full of energy, going to college, getting to know people. They were full of life. But we, we were tired. We were walking slower, doing stuff in our own time.
I was sitting with her on her hospital bed. Never having left her side. She knew she was going to be leaving first and I knew it too. Every time id see her, pain enveloped my body. But she was always sharp. She knew how much I loved her and how much pain it was bringing me seeing her like this. The Day came. The Final Day. It was just me and her. She held my hand and i held hers as we just stared at each other for hours. She then told me how much she loved me and how she was so lucky to have met such a beautiful man. I replied back in the same words. Then. She took her final breathe, and it broke me.
The thought that I would never see that beaming smile again, never listen to her singing her favorite songs, or never again look at those perfect green eyes. That alone was enough for me to want to go meet her.
Then, my time came as well. But I wasn’t scared. I knew my children were going to take care of themselves. So I died peacefully. Not knowing if there was indeed an afterlife I went in pride.
I found myself in a field. A beautiful field. There were blossom trees everywhere. Beautiful lakes and mountains. The sun was setting. I was appalled at the beautiful landscape. Until I heard a beautiful soft familiar voice from behind me.
“Darling?” The beautiful voice said.
I turned around to see. My beautiful wife. In a beautiful dress. Smiling at me with that wonderful smile, and beautiful emerald green eyes, that cute short pink hair of hers flowing with the gentle breeze. She pounced on me as we both fell and rolled down the hill hugging each other tightly giggling and smiling as we stare into each others eyes. We look up. To find ourselves. In a beautiful. Flower field. I never forgot. I picked up a flower and put it in her hair. She smiled that beautiful smile again.

The picture and the rain and the music is just so strange feeling. It gives a sense of nostalgia, even though the song nor the game are nostalgic at all for me. It's just the fact of imagining falling down into a complete other world, and thinking of the whole journey from there that the game takes you on. It just feels like such an adventure that I've dreamed of before, yet i never have.

For some unknown reasons I started crying at this song. It reminded me of the people I have in my life, and who I had, it reminded me so much of my great grandma, 2 cats, 4 dogs, and my friend Rylon, I’ve gone so long without them I don’t know how I still have my sanity anymore, and I and many other people I assume wish pets could understand us and our emotions. If my cat Albert understood me I would be asking for hugs whenever I’m stressed, but I doubt that’ll happen any time soon. Well good morning/night for anyone who actually read all of this :)

Songs like these make me reflect on my actions and choices, did I do the right thing? Was i able to please everyone today? I fall a lot, but I look at the future with hope, and get back up. I know ill fall again, I know it'll be twice as hard, like always, I keep striving on, I'm determined to have a happy ending. And so should you, don't give up, you never know what the future has in store for you.
That feeling when you're a little kid and you get to buy an ice cream or when you see the rain and you're laughing with your friends dancing around. The happiness of these memories but the sad part that you'll never relive them. And now you try to find a sense of comfort that can heal that inner child and I believe it to be this song.

Sometimes you get somewhere in life where you fall down and struggle to get back up but then your friends and family notice, sometimes they'll grab you by the arms and help you up, gripping you tight to keep you from falling under again. edit 2024 : ha pasado un año, la situacion a mejorado, poco a poco, he aprendido muchas cosas, y volvi a ver a un amiga que no veia hace 7 años!, senti como si fuera el mejor dia de mi vida, y logre pasar la secundaria apunto de la preparatoria... resulta que mi madre no me abandono, se habia enfermado de covid-19 y no estaba economicamente estable para verme.

Lately felt like I have fallen down. I think it was the realization that I have built a social cage around me and stuck in there for my whole life that hurt me. After 2020, isolation and distance learning made me realize how lonely I was. I left my only friends to a different school. I say it was a miracle I survived middle school. I was just this quiet creep with unkept hair, always wearing a hoodie and sweatpants. I think entering high school hit me the hardest, because back in middle school I honestly didn’t care/wasn’t really aware of how bad my social life is. It was looking around, seeing kids my age with huge friend groups and starting to make friends with the older kids, that made me feel terrible. And I was the weird kid who just stood in random places, pacing around with no one to talk to. I also became aware of the habit of me overthinking every little wrong thing I do, and worrying what people think of me. I became hungry to impress everyone. Though I never really acted on it, because honestly I’m scared to do anything in front of people. I hated myself for never developing social skills when I was younger. For never growing up and being less shy. I didn’t feel like I belonged. I guess I’m better now. I’ve joined a friend group, but still trying to find my footing in it. My awareness doesn’t really help, because I have no idea how to solve my problems, such as overthinking.
I'm going to high school next year.
I currently have a friend group but I'm going to have to leave them for a high school. I have the same problem as you and I hate it as well but right now the only thing I can focus is getting good grades and enough sleep at night.
If you have any advice on high school it would be greatly appreciated .

But it’s not that simple. That person walking down the street, the people driving down the roads, they all have struggles. Or perhaps they’ve been through struggles and came out the other side. Everyone has. That being said, why should you fail where so many others have succeeded?
You open your eyes and lift your head. It’s a bit darker now. The street lights speckle the puddles with bright reflections. It’s as if you can hear a faint sound, a melody. The trees, the clouds, the air, something seems to sing to you. Somber, but calm. Perhaps you’ve gone crazy? Maybe. Nevertheless, the melody comforts you. Things may not turn out okay, but the streets are filled with people who have had to be strong. Why should you not be one of them? You take a deep breath, in and out.
