What an inspiration, much respect. What's the spindle and center size of the lathe you use? I recently bought a 7 x 14 and wondering if i can do a similar build, later down the line.
@@chippyjohn1 Yeah, I wasn't necessarily talking about counting the teeth on each gear. . . .but more so on how many turns per revolution from the bigger gear to the smaller gear
@@chippyjohn1 Thankya for that! i appreciate it! That is not a huge gear ratio espect at all! Theres still the tail rotor gearbox to figure in as well. Most all conventional helicopters will have anywhere from a 1: 5 to 1: 6 1/2 gear ratio aspect

so glad you made another video. I thought you would fill it with oil, but then you sealed it up. I was surprised you put the gaskets on it. Are you going to take off the "not final bolts" and fill it with oil? if not, what are the gaskets for? some of the music was bad though🙂
Hello these gears are not appropriate for this porpoise. You must use spiral bevel gear in order to have smooth transition without vibrations. I can share some photos of my gearbox but I don't know how to send with RUclips.
I know you state this is not educational. Just want to point out the importance of a hunting gear ratio. It looks like 30:15 or 2:1 ratio. Ideally it should be 31:15 for a ratio of 2.066.
Почему не показал настройку пятна контакта ? И еще вызывает сомнение базирование крышки с подшипником прямо на мягкую прокладку. Надо было сделать упорный поясок и рассчитать так, чтобы прокладка обжалась на пару десятых мм, потом крышка жестко уперлась в поясок. Иначе от степени обжатия прокладки будет зависеть осевое смещение зубчатого колеса и непредсказуемое пятно контакта.
@@ultralighthelicopter Some don’t understand in building a flying machine you do it twice. First round with cheap hardware and when it’s done take it apart and go back together with the good stuff now that we know what we need and exact length

He does show the gears, count the teeth, 30 and 15. A bad idea for gears. A hunting ratio should always be used.

@@truckerray7533 Ratio is actually 2:1, apologies. His engine operates at 6000-6500, so output shaft is operating at about 3-3250 rpm.

These are not the final bolts i will upgrade them.
