The amazing thing is that the masts are still standing after all these years of being exposed to the elements.

From what I have been told they didn't have the time until after the war.
      And then the allies decided
      1. it hasn't gone up
      2. We can't be bothered
      3. It's in British waters
How much of that is true I don't know

So much for British maritime law....just chunk it overboard. Maybe having one of those things "hatch" on their decks will get the rest of their mates' attention to do it the right and legal way! But, I doubt there's that many with working brains to understand if they've been doing this for so long!

2:20, the script says “over a thousand of these were built.” True. Between 1941 - 1945 the United States of America built 2,710 of them; or 1 every 16 HOURS!!

@@tobyrose6906 not counting Japanese balloon bombs and a few pot shots from a submarine in early ‘42, the continental United States wasn’t bombed at all

I am 82 y.o born and bred in Sheerness . There used to be pleasure craft doing trips around the wreck until the mid 50's . Nobody gave it a thought , until one day some moronic busybody painted on the seawall the message of the dangers lurking out to sea. Do something useful , like castigating the government for illegal immigration .

Ordnance, not ordinance. They are completely different. A few thousand tons of ordinance would be no problem at all!

Put there to stop british shipping out of the thames. the americans did this so they could rule the peace. in 1944 they new they would win. so they secured their peace by scuttling this ship.
