This is such a wholesome take on immortality, they don't see themselves as above mortals or indifferent or "things were better in the past." The funny thing about nostalgia is it's something every generation has. I'm sure our kids will grow up and tell their kids about how fun it was growing up in the 2020's and all the great story's they have of social media and VR while trying to ignore our old koot stories about how the 2000's were better, and how your video games just don't have the same heart as ours did, and when we wanted to play multiplayer we had to meat in person. Honestly I'm looking forward to being an old koot, to pass down the wisdom and or nonsense that was passed down from my grandparents. To dote on my grand kids in ways didn't with my children just like my parents and grandparents. History moves in cycles, and not all of them are bad. I wonder what my kids will be nostalgic for?
I mean, they're downplaying the negatives that the internet and technology has wrought. The vast majority of human advancement has been within the past few hundred years, we have no idea what the final outcome will be and just the internet alone has warped people and society in extremely negative ways. There's a reason suicide and mental illnesses are spiking. No one will be nostaligic for this era because of how terrible it was. 2008-2012 was a recession, the early and mid 2010's was the rise of wokeism and sanitation of the internet and absolute dominance of social media, 2020's has been ruled by covid and the hysteria that followed which alone will have disasterous effects on children who were growing up in that time, and we're on the brink of ww3 due to incompetent leadership in the western world because everyone has become soft. If anyone thinks back on social media fondly they're in imbecile
@@petnaby *deep sigh* Look I've been having these conversations a lot lately, and I'm really tired of people being so pessimistic about modern technology. The fact of the matter is that the internet is the invention that defines this era. Much like the age of agriculture, the ages of metal work, and the ages of sail and steam. And just as in every other age of technological development the new invention did both great and terrible things. Advanced sailboats were necessary in colonialism, iron created horrific instruments of torture and death, and agriculture lead to civilization and all of it's inequities. But you know what, things always got better. So please tell me how much better it was before the internet back in the 1960's, back when there was still Jim Crow in the south, there was still cold war tension, the disastrous Vietnam war, and hippies spreading drugs and STD's everywhere. Every generation has nostalgia, and every generation has their shit they want to forget.
I like how this doesn't portray immortality as a curse like most cuationary tales often say. They're just enjoying life and all it has to offer. I mean the mad scientist is a bit of an inconvience but on it's own it's a sweet gig.
Tbh is i had immortality for thousands of years i would probably still be the same IF i don't find true love and my true love and whole generation dies while i live along side with my generations if not then i would be able to do everything and when i mean everything i mean EVERYTHING like watch every single thing on the world? I'll do it! Go to the deepest ocean? I'll do it! Like everyone says "iMmOrTaliTy iS a CuRsE" but like with immortality you can do everything plus if you actually feel lonely then just get your blood or tlus still use your brain to make other human immortal BOOM now YOUR loves one's are immortal aswell
I love that merryweather comics pay such great attention to detail. The first message sent over the internet was in 1969(nice) which they intended to convey the word 'LOGIN' but it crashed before it finished so the first message sent over the internet was actually 'LO'
Reminds me of an IQ bell curve meme IQ 55: "Oh wow, look at all these cool new things!" IQ 100: "Things were better back then." IQ 145: "Oh wow, look at all these cool new things!"
Two immortals guiding humanity with technological advancements? One of them being a dark hair and tan skinned male? The hold the key to PERPETUAL life? Is this 40k? Is this the emperor during the dark age of technology?
CAPTURE THE IMMORTALS, THEIR BLOOD SHALL DELIVER US ETERNITY
To be honest, I don't think I'd like that very much. I'd probably go mad living that long lol

g I thought it would end there😭😭
bro that went from a wholesome about the video to a philosophical string on the future and nostalgia.

Immortality sucks if you keep outliving your loved one. Here, they have each other.

First few frames - "Heh they look the same, they're probably immortal lol"
Last frame - "I bloody knew it."
Immortals playing the long game, helping humanity rise up, just so they don't feel lonely so much. That did be very nice.
So basically in the nutshell
Wolf: if i stay with that human maybe they'll give me food
Narrator: Thousands of years later
Dog: *DERP*
Wolf cousin: If I stay with that human, maybe they’ll give me food?
10,000 years later: What the doge doin’?! Buy DogeCoin!
They already did that joke.
So they were the ones who invented these things in the Merryweather universe? Loving the lore so far♡
I, I was expecting a much darker twist but am presently surprised
I would love to see this as a series
This has a better twist than anything M. Night Shyamalan has made in the past 15 years.
The two immortals people experience different hours of humanities development which society.

its only not a curse if you have another person that is also immortal but even then once the earth explodes they be in space till they stop thinking
@@thatoneyoutubechannel9139 Immortality isn't a noun.

Back in my day, if you wanted to talk to someone over a long distance, you had to conduct dark rituals to astral project.
Man how times change
Well that escalated

Ah!!! Finally some new english content! Good to see you back :3c
Oh good, I thought the last video on here was an accident
Welcome back, this was so human that i can still feel it
When I saw the original, I always imagined a crossover where these two know the family of immortals from Disney's Carousel of Progress

Well that escalated quickly
No One:
Literally Nobody:
Two Couple: *Immortal Breath*
SCP-Foundation: *Contain the Anomalies*
Make this a permanent series.
There is no human that would be alive for 10000 years and still be sane
Wow, I really loved how the computer network part said "LO" on screen. I've never actually seen anyone reference that snippet of history :)
Who in their right mind wants immortality ... The endless conversation would be exhausting
Hope you can more of these videos
Oh i remember this series
"how do they keep finding us???" posts an "escape selfie" to her instagram
*Boy........ that escalated quickly........ that REALLY got out of hand fast....*
Didn't expect that twist, thought it was just thier descendents lol.
Ok, i wasn't expecting that...
But i was expecting not to expect something so it doesn't count
The og bianca and william
I feel like this skipped out quite a huge and important part of the 10,000 years there.
Ah, the middle ages.

Why don't the soldiers just shoot them in the legs? Or if they're really immortal, why not just shoot until you can't shoot

As technology evolves, humans keep getting dumber. Examples: twitter, reddit, TikTok. It's a trade off I suppose.
