I bought a SAILRITE sewing machine. Best thing I ever did. Fixes everything without handstitching.
Our sail was beyond stitching in the end. Good idea though
@@judyaslett6209 SAILRITE sells sail cloth. I would replace the panel. I’m an economical sailor, I’m not rich like you two.
The waters you paddled through on your way to the wreck had an almost gem-like quality. Simply stunning.
Thank you for the interview, really fun to be together!! Great shots, fun sailing. We wish you fair winds and a great trip to the Ionian.
Thanks guys, enjoy Turkey.
I went through the Corinth Canal in my Wauquiez 47 and the engined conked out when we were in the middle! Luckily an American boat behind us towed us out and we gave them a nice bottle of Rioja to thank them.
A great story! I always love tales of people helping each other
We managed to get North. But it has meant some very early starts! Be interesting to see the tech spec on the generator. Sail Safe Guys, Ant & Cid.
Hello to you both,a great sailing video with enough chop on the water to make it interesting i loved bad weather sometimes to break the tedium of life at sea (adrenaline rush)…of the boats shown I preferred your Hans Christian Classic line boat, and the fixed dog house looks really practical as well as blending nicely with the hull,it wins hands down for me.thank you.cheers Roly.🇬🇧.
Another really wonderful video, beautifully edited and truly educational and entertaining. So generous of you. I can't thank you enough!
Love the duel photos!
Beautiful sailing… wish I were here…
Very nice film. Good sailing for you guys. Thank you for sharing.
Great sailing you guys sailing the Greek islands It's magical I was sailing from May to July and I discover Fantastic places I can wait next year
Absolutely fantastic filming love the music also ATB to you both
Just amazing video quality great sail too
Saludos desde Montevideo Uruguay 🇺🇾 . Water,Kayak, boatseal ,miusic ,imágenes, beautifull!!!!! No spikin inglés 😁🥰
The video doesn’t lie… beaten fair and square by Fair Isle … thanks for the reel!
Ha! I’m thinking over the winter maybe I should strip down Fair Isle to give you a proper race. And yes I guess I’m going to have to give it full commitment like you do. So how do I get my hands on a pair of Kevin Keegans lightweight cutdown shorts?
@@svfairisle oh Steve …. I’m going to enjoy this …. So have got you the best pair ever…. But now this is public …. You are really going to have to wear them…. The forfeit is daily foredeck yoga for a month … both have to be on camera of course
It’s about time you atoned for your Keegan blasphemy and German Sausage taunting
Touché
Paul
Okay challenge accepted. They've got a very good gym here in Porto Montenegro so I've got the winter to get the body to suit the shorts (might have to stay on for a year or two!)
Lekker man lekker 🇿🇦
No fish? I have to think it is the lures you are using. Thanks for a wonderful video, so professionally filmed, produced and narrated.
Well that’s all history… as of today catching a bonito that fed us both I am the great hunter gatherer!
PS it was a new lure that Was given to me by Paul from Sailing Savvy, it’s similar to others I had just bigger
@@svfairisle Yay! grilled tuna (ish) on the menu. Well done. Three year duck gone forever.
Very nice video, bravo. I see you fixed your colour balance problems too. Vathy bay you spent some time in is on Sifnos island. An exceptionally pretty island with some of the most classic Cycladic architecture and very good food. It’s a pity most sailors miss it for reasons unknown to me.
And lovely pottery. We bought some coffee cups from the workshop
@@judyaslett6209 The island is famous for its pottery tradition. Did you manage to go to the main villages uphill or did you just stay in Vathy?
We had some work to do so we stayed around the area. Another time we would take the bus to main town. It looked interesting
@@judyaslett6209 Artemonas, connected to the capital Apollonia is most probably the prettiest village in the whole of the Cyclades. Avoid August, which is something that can be said for most any place in the Aegean apart from secluded bays and islets..
Sifnos is one of the prettiest in the Aegean and Kastro is the prettiest village on Sifnos. Sometimes I am really happy that my absolute favorite islands remain kind of private for the few who know.
👍👍👍👍
I would have your boat any day of the week
No fish in three years???? So I am no longer the world's worst fisherman? Thanks, you made my day :-). Great video, as always. Love your adventures.
Ha! No my names firmly engraved on that trophy!
Well that was just what we needed for a change of luck… literally 15 minutes after writing that comment as we sailed down the gulf of Corinth I snagged a Bonito that fed us both last night!
@@svfairisle Haha, love it! Well done. Any other problems you need fixed? 🙂
Try using a lure which is a dark colour with a bit of red and a bit bigger. It shows up better in a very well lit sea. A lightly coloured lure has a camuuflage effect in sunny conditions!🤔
As a trimaran enthusiast I'm especially enjoying this episode. What particular model is that trimaran?
She's a Dragonfly. There is an extended interview and look around the boat if you're interested.
Arh, I see you've commented on it! See you in Annapolis!
@@svfairisle I ended up watching that one as well.. Thanks for doing that tour. Very cool.
👍⛵🎣🌊🙏
😀👍👍👍❤
Get the credit card out for the canal.....its not cheap. Stop at Tizonia on the way after the canal.......would be nice to see you again.
Do u mean Trizonia? That is where we are now
Eight metres and thirty????? Does that mean 8030 or 8300 Steve? only a foot difference!
We’ve been watching your films for a while now and we’re intrigued how you get round the visa rules post brexit? We have a house in France so fall fowl of the 3 months in 6 restrictions. How do you manage it please???
we spent last winter in Turkey and next in Montenegro. And then we will go across the Atlantic
We don’t, we have to do the Shengan shuffle along with everyone else. We have Croatia, Montenegro & Turkey out here to escape to, won’t be so easy in the Western Med so we will be head out quite quickly
@@svfairisle don’t you just love brexit rules!! Thanks for the clarification
@@Vicq52400 I think us guys that didn’t vote for it shouldn’t have to abide by it!
@@svfairisle i agree but not sure French border staff would agree!
Hey there Steve & Jude. Loved that film. I must say Jude you look beautiful, loving your hair. 😎 look out for my email to Steve, I would love some help on choosing 4g WiFi instillation. Thanks for sharing. Great stuff.
Your friends’ boat may be faster, but she is in no way as beautiful as Fair Isle under sail.
How do you manage with the post-Brexit 90 day rule?
We wintered in Turkey last winter, in Montenegro this coming winter and then sadly we will have to get out of the Med and cross the Atlantic as there aren’t enough none Schengen countries in the Western Med.
@@svfairisle thanks for the prompt response. It would be good to understand the process for checking out of Turkey and in to the EU. I have done this pre-Brexit but hear a lot of stories about the cost and complexity since Brexit.
Checking out of Turkey is very easy. You just check out as you would before Brexit
@@judyaslett6209 Yes. Checking out process is broadly the same but is now more strictly enforced (it used to be the case that you could nip over to eg Simi without checking in or o . It is the checking in process for UK residents on a UK flagged boat which i now understand is much more complicated and constrained since Brexit.
