Every time I hear a Home Free cover, no matter how old, tired, or overplayed the song, it becomes a new favorite! The clarity of their diction, I always hear something I’ve never heard before.
The high tenor is Austin Brown! He has a serious background in classical & musical theater and worked hard to lose his southern Georgia accent, but didn’t have to worry about that since he joined Home Free. He worked a short while at Disney World singing in the “Voices of Liberty” too. You should check out them singing “Bring Him Home” from Les Miserables, Austin sings the lead. They used to do it after Adam’s beat box solo to give him a break. Here’s a link of a live performance. ruclips.net/video/FAarrEj4or8/видео.html
Watching this on July 18, 2021, it’s so fun to see your original reaction to Home Free when you were still learning about them. Awesome reaction. I agree about the second verse.
The "ONE" that got me started ......... And never a regret --- no disappointments ever! And it was Tim's lead that started it all ....... The start was awesome --- but the end of that lead is what caught my ear!!!! THAT was the point of discovery .... and the proverbial "no return"!
I have seen hundreds and hundreds of Home Free reaction videos, and this is by far the best I've ever seen! Your expressions are amazing!! Thank you so much!
I find Austin's voice so melodious. It's great to be a high tenor but his voice is so smooth with naturally sweet, sweet timber. Heard him last week giving a shout out to someone on his Facebook and then went from dialogue straight into song and I almost lost my mind. So yeah, Austin's voice is like butter in the sun. He shows his great range in "Bring Him Home" from Les Miserables - Home Free Live video.
Austin is the nicest guy ever!! This was the first song that we heard HOME FREE do in 2015 and we have been fans ever since - 3 generations of us! That say alot!
Tim Foust (Bass) Austin Brown (Tenor - Red Head) Rob Lundquist (Second Tenor - Bearded guy with glasses) Adam Rupp (Beatboxist/Second Tenor/First Baritone) Chris Rupp (First & Second Baritone - Guy in the Cowboy Hat) ____________________________________________________________________________ Yes, you are right. Chris Rupp left the group to follow a solo career which includes quite a bit of Christian Music. He, along with Adam his brother, formed the group in college. He was still with Home Free when they chose a singer to take his place for when he would leave. In fact; Chris was the guy who picked Adam Chance as his replacement.
@@ajisegundo2268 = No, I mean Beatboxist. An (ist) is a master of their trade. An (er) is simply one who does. I believe Adam Rupp is more than simply a person mimicking noise. He innovates sound through Vocal Percussion. Much better than a typical Beatboxer.
@Granypanies = Tenor 1 --- High Tenor is a description that the group uses. It's not an actual term. In Music scale, they use numbers to represent seat placement, and letters to represent cord. As a Tenor in a Vocal Band, Austin fluctuates between different Tenor Cords, but sings exclusively in Tenor. So, where as he may be a High Tenor (singing in notes Higher than Rob, in Tenor 2), it would more accurate to say Austin sings 1rst Seat, which is Tenor 1.
Austin Brown (high tenor) has a video of "Georgia" that has runs that will blow your mind! He also has videos of "Earn It" and "Rest of My Life". Tim Foust has a video of "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow/Stay" that is just amazing.
Austin is high tenor!! My favorite!! Rob has beard, Chris is ( started the group in 2000, left 2016 for solo career and Chance took his place)in hat and Adam beat boxer, Tim bass. You will be a Home Fry when you learn the names!❤
IF THAT AIN'T A JOYFUL NOISE ... you can slap me silly ! Home Free ...... just a tower of power, precision and grace ..... in four part harmony and fills, thrills & runs like a sounds feast !!! So great. The Bass is Tim / Then Mid Tenor [was] Founder Chris Rupp, Brother on low tenor / Beat Boxer = Adam Rupp / replacing Chris is Adam Chance - Baritone with Bass and tenor capabilities / near original member & INCREDIBLE MID TENOR GENIUS = Rob Lundquist / above in the ceiling of Tenor talent is Austin Brown - herein hits the highs with phenomenal vocal control and ability !!! Home Free now some twenty plus years after college creation ...... several singers along the way. GBjj
Thanks for the great reaction !! Love these guys, all so talented, but I have a soft spot for Austin !! Would like to request Austin singing "Bring Him Home". There are several versions all of them live in concert. He does such a great job.
This is the second song that I heard them sing. How Great Thou Art was the first. O Holy Night my favorite Christmas song. used to play this on piano and that's what the arpeggios reminded me of., and singing this in choirs also helped. Thanks for your reaction. I didn't think that I could remember names either. But the more you watch their videos, the easier the names will come to you.
Great to see you reacting to more Christmas Home Free. They've got some more choir-style arrangements, and some really fun songs, some they've officially recorded and some they've only done live in their Christmas shows, I hope you get the chance to react to them in the future. This was Tim Foust's arrangement - apparently it was one of the first things he arranged for acapella when he was still in High School, though this is a more sophisticated version. He and Austin Brown, the high tenor, really get to show off in this one - but one of the wonderful things about Home Free is that you have a group of singers who are all so individually talented, but who are also happy to share the lead. Who knows what the future will hold, but Austin has certainly said in the past that he wants to stay with the group because he enjoys harmony singing so much.
I loved, loved, loved your reaction!! This is such a beautiful rendition of this song!! Cowboy hat guy, Chris Rupp (brother to Adam, the beatboxer) founded the group in Fall of 2000 and left the group in May of 2016. I appreciate the guy every time I listen to Home Free because I can’t imagine never having these guys as a group! They are an amazing group! I’ve seen their live show 6 times! I am so glad you’re still reacting to Home Free!
If you haven't already, you should react to Angels We Have Heard On High and Away in a Manger with Chris Rupp (the guy in the cowboy hat). Great versions of those songs. Also forgot to mention the song White Christmas by Home Free. It sounds pretty good countrified.
Thanks so much for this one...it is my all time favorite Christmas song by them! Your facial expressions...priceless! When they sing this live...even more breath taking! Now I will suggest their cover of White Christmas....you need to hear that countryfied ....its awesome and they have their friends and family in the video too! Congrats on 5k subs!
I love Christmas music and Home Free so much so getting them both is wonderful, thank you!! This is a beautiful arrangement although I do agree I wish they'd done the actual second verse. You have actually seen Chris in videos before including Ring of Fire, Mom, Elvira and Children Go Where I send Thee with Kenny Rogers. The switch over of Chris to Chance was 2016. You can see a switch from April to June of 2016 with their music videos, and then everything after June is all Chance. Please continue doing Home Free for Christmas sunday!! Enjoy!
The guy with the hat is Chris Rupp, the beatboxers Brother, they started the group back in 2000, i think. He left the group 2 years ago and thats when the second bass joins in. The guy with the long hair who sang the second part is Austin Brown. Thx for your reaction vids!
Austen Brown is the kid with the long hair. The guy with cowboy hat is Chris Rupp, the beat boxer's brother - Adam Rupp. Chris co-founded the group. Chris left around 2016 when Chance took over. He left on good terms with everyone, In fact Chance was in one of the last videos Chris was in (House Party). Chris has a solo career now and has had Tim singing with him and the whole group has done some backup for him. Rob is the guy with the beard. I think they did a pretty good job on this song and Thank you for a great reaction. Have a good day and stay safe
Next Home Free Christmas song has to be What child is this with both HF and Chris Rupp. I think it's on Chris' channel. Tim is doing some amazing stuff there...
Yeah, Austin's Voice is awesome. Check out their version of Flowers on the Wall. They recorded all their parts separately because of Corona virus, and it turned out great. I love Austin's part in there. For another Christmas special I recommend 'God rest ye merry gentlemen', 'oh come all ye faithful' or 'Mary did you know by Pentatonix :)
They all can sing and take the lead on certain songs. They just figure out who sounds best. Cowboy hat is Chris Rupp, he’s the brother to Adam Rupp, they started the group. Chris left to go solo. Tim and Austin have both done solo songs, Tim did an album long time ago before joining HF. Austin used to sing on cruise ship.
My favorite version if this song is sung by Josh Groban. And he was just a young pup at the time, early 20s, I think? It was on his second album, I think.
This is one of my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE Christmas songs!!!! Tim Foust has a 5 octave range...CRAZY SICK VOCALS!!! And DON'T EVEN get me started on Austin...😍😍😍 I LOVE LOVE LOVE my Home Free boys!!! #diehardhomefryfan Thank y'all for ANOTHER GREAT reaction my friend...blessings ❤☝️❤

Ok so I'm a bit late but for one of your next Christmas Sundays PLEASE could you do O Come All Ye Faithful by Pentatonix? It's a very upbeat rendition of a beautiful song and not a lot of reactors did it so it would be pretty original. Amazing vid btw keep it up!
The cowboy hat gut is Chris Rupp brother to the beat boxer Adam Rupp. Chris left on his own accord to do solo work. I believe there were three or four Rupp brothers when the group started. But early on Brothers dropped out and new members came in. The high tenor is Austin Brown.

This video, and Austins performance, is what made me a Huge Home Free fan. However, Tim's recent Facebook post telling some of his fans to "fuck off" if they didn't agree with him, turned me off to HF.
Austin was singing as the main solosist on a cruise ship when they discovered him. They needed someone within that year and he wanted to be with them and it all worked out for all of us!!! We are so blessed! Yes, agree that you MUST listen to Austin sing Bring Him Home from Les Miserables. It shows off his voice that is so classically trained. What I love about Austin so much is that he can sing down and dirty like Man of Constant Sorrows, then all out country twang and then switch over to something like this. They are wonderful together and thankful he wanted to be part of a group not on his own!!! Take care, be safe.
This is an incredibly beautiful rendition of this great song. For me it was marred by Chris Rupp appearing in a hat - inside - in a church, no less. Seriously? Would it have killed him to lose the Stetson for a couple of minutes during the performance? Show some class, Chris.
If you love this song (no disrespect to Home Free), then you may want to check out David Phelps with the Gaithers. Best performance of this song EVER! In my opinion, of course. ruclips.net/video/ElJ0fiD0lkc/видео.html

So glad u did this one! I swear, these boys are always on point with their harmonies🙌 Absolutely FANTASTIC.. And ur thumbnail says it all🤣
auld lang syne by Home Free is a must before the new year. It is over the top with vocals. Even Adam is singing.
These guys make me wonder how many times I can have shivers and chills chase up and down my spine during the course of a song.
I love how Brad almost looks offended at how good their singing is, AS IF HE ISN'T JUST AS AMAZING HIMSELF AT SINGING xD Love your reactions!
