    You're a very cool/chill dude, I'll watch your other vids, but I think you should have a disclaimer of some sorts:
    "I am not a professional and I'm attempting to clean my lens with the materials I have. If you use my method, proceed at your own risk, because you may not clean your lens completely and you might damage your lens".

      haha hi and thanks for your input !
      I should definitely have a warning saying "proceed at your own risks" that's true.
      I have open tons of lenses in my life so i'm pretty confident in my abilities to open and put back together an old lens (which is much easier than one thinks)
      but i'm definitely not using the proper tools and gloves and cleaning materials.
      thanks for your support man !
      I actually filmed two failed attempts at cleaning a lens ! a modern sony one whith electronics (very scary and an old canon fd lens that was too far gone to clean it)
      i still need time to edit the videos :)

      Hi and thanks !
      ummm no i have never looked at this lens. usually modern (ish) lenses are more complicated to take appart.
      and I believe that the lens is not removable from the body which makes it even harder.
      you need to look for those two grooves on the for of the lens barrel cause if there are grooves you might be able to unscrew it and remove the front lens element

    Hello! Do you know how to remove the first element from the Nikkor 55-300mm DX lens? I need to remove the front glass, but not finding videos that show how can do that. Can you help me?

    • @DuncanDimanche-sreview
      @DuncanDimanche-sreview  4 года назад +1

      Eduardo Mascena newer lenses are really really tough to take appart because they have tons of electronics ! You can look at lens rental I know that they take appart every lenses that they receive and maybe you can find a similar nikon lens.
      but you can start by taking the plastic sticker ring that has all the lens' info (55-300mm dx etc)
      and look for some groves where you could unscrew the front of the lens.
      maybe also look for "taking appart nikon af lens" on youtube

    • @DuncanDimanche-sreview
      @DuncanDimanche-sreview  4 года назад

      also extend the lens all the way out and look for screws on the barrel of the lens that could be there to hold the lens in place.
      if you lens is not usable as it is then you have nothing to loose ;)

      @@DuncanDimanche-sreview The great mystery is that this lens has no screws on the front (around the front glass), and also has no screws on its body, only on the back. But the problem is ahead. I'll continue searching. Thanks
