- While passing by with the scooter, I realized there is some type of event so I had to stop to check it out. And as a result, I ended up at the funeral which I was expecting the least. Here is the whole story.

nobody can coerce davud into anything if he doesn't want to do it. it's only a couple dollars for all those drinks and he didn't mind it.
they were just teasing him when they asked it, he didn't have to if he didn't want to.
Maaf, sebenarnya mereka bukan tidak punya uang untuk membeli minuman, tapi begitulah indonesia, jika ada bos yang menghampiri saat sedang bekerja, mereka akan minta di traktir sambil bercanda 😁, sebenarnya meski tidak dikasih pun tidak masalah, yang penting datang dengan cara baik-baik. Many people are saying that drink is expensive..lmfao its not 30K(2 usd)it’s 3K(0.2 cents).Relax guys that’s way cheaper.Davud pay 24K for 8 drinks but he don’t have change so he give 25K

Please do not buy anything for people or give them money because it will spoil them. The bad situation occured because you offer money, food or drink for some people in the crowed. The others those who were not offered will feel strange, why they are excluded. Yes, it is your right to choose who you want to give, but do not do that within poor people. Actually, they do not expect anything from you. If they offer you food or drink you don't need to pay except in the food stahl or restaurant. It is normal in indonesia offering stranger food or drink for free, even they are poor. So just talk to the nicely, its enough.

I gotta say I like Lombok less than Bali, in here they have already hustled you twice for money, same thing in the previous village. Man just don't feed into their bad habits. In Bali people were courteous and nice
In Bali and also in Sri Lanka most expect nothing in return when they help foreigners. However there may be scammers anywhere in the world.
These people are so aggressive...practically " extorting" drinks from a total stranger. Please don't be over generous with such unscrupulous people.

Yes, Indonesia is close to my heart because I was married to an Indonesian man frm Yogja who is the father of my three grown up children. We treat Indonesia as our second home & visit the relatives every year even though my ex-hubby and I went our separate ways many years ago. West nusa tenggara is one of poorest provinces in Indonesia that is why our government prioritize them in tourism industry. But it seems not enough, Many of the people in this province working abroad as foreign labour in Malaysia and Middle East. I never been there but seeing the people like to begging money, it really show they are poor. Not all indonesian like to begging money. In indonesia, i think lombok similar to sundanese people where the woman famous with they materialistic lifestyle. They like to begging money to foreigner. Especially the poor people. But you won't see the people like this in Bali and Jakarta. They have dignity. If you go to sumatra the people there even more have dignity. Begging for money is shameful even they are poor.
You should have carry more smaller denominations for easy payment and not show you have lots of money.
