They didn't even give her proper medical treatment. She should of been taken to the Hospital. As a past First Responder, it is not our job to make the decision that she is not sick enough, that is for the Doctors at the Hospital. Also, given she passed out twice, her age, the way she was treated, being put into a straightjacket and how upset she was, the FR should of transported to hospital. I hope she sues the for a couple million at least. It is the only way to make changes in Law Enforcement.
That ridiculous restraint was just to humiliate and intimidate her, theatre to make it look like she was a dangerous criminal they were bringing in. Disturbing what cops can do to us.
Apparently they don't cover civil rights in their six weeks of training. Either that or they teach them to just make the arrest and try to cover it up. I've even heard an officer say "let the courts figure it out" which is unbelievable.
Suing and winning are two different things. She won’t get a dime, and they won’t be punished. But losing her temper is going to be very expensive for her.

Nope it was used for MAXIMUM punishment and humiliation of the victim. Same reason the took her out with no pants on for shear humiliation. They knew charges would be dropped, they just wanted to torture her as much as they could.
First off how many knocks before they even said they were the police? This woman also needs to sue the hotel. They let in these sociopaths. False info on reports should lead to write-ups. Then depending on what else was done a loss of title demotion. Next suspended without pay. Next termination.

TBH, these cops are only feeling good about themselves based on restraining her (while half naked) and having the last laugh, they probably like the fact that this story got some traction in the media. Finally, with qualified immunity, all their actions can be excused away and they don't lose a minute of sleep. The county will lose a stack of money but nobody on any side cares. The only outcome here is the plaintiff can now afford a better hotel room next time.
In light that the officers had no legal basis for their actions, These officers committed a litany of crimes, including serious felonies: • Falsifying a police report • Perjury • False arrest • Breaking and entering • Assault • Kidnapping • Conspiracy All four of these dirty cops should not only be fired, but charged criminally.

Because 911 got a call from "They Said". Somebody called from Miami, or Denver, or Alaska and can't be questioned or verified. And the dumb asses heard NO fighting when they tip-toed up to the door and began pounding and shouting. They think that if they beat on your door you must comply. This one is as bad as the two dumbasses that arrested the homeowner because there was ditch weed growing in a field he didn't even own. If the cops want to come in based on a mystery 911 call, they can smash the door and settle the motel corporation.
Nothing you can do when some ignorant neighbor calls on you. Best thing you can do is not open the door. And if they break down the door without a warrant you have an open and shut lawsuit on your hands.
I say it every time, there are ZERO reasons for a body camera to have an option to mute. Aside from the obvious ability to conspire to violate the law.
They shouldn't haven have the 30 seconds of no audio at the beginning. The only reason they do that is so cops will actually hit the button if they were just breaking the law 20 seconds earlier.
The only excuse to shut off a body camera is if the cop is taking a potty break. Beyond that there is no excuse or legitimate reason to shut it off. It should be automatic dismissal of any and all charges the cop may bring if they don't have body cam video to back them (in addition to false arrests being added to their personnel file along with being forwarded to the state licensing authority).

You've never heard the old story about how there is an IQ entrance exam to the police department? I heard that long ago, and figured it was actually a rumor, with such potential to be false. Over the years, I ran across several intelligent, experienced individuals, in the know, that were very confident and certain that it was, in fact, true. They have a maximum IQ allowance level. Apparently, folks who exceed a caliber of intelligence and critical thinking, are more prone to reconsider, long-term, big picture issues, question authority, divert from the training, etc. It would seem to me, that it would vary upon department, but it's apparently widely agreed upon to be universally utilized. As you can tell by my wording, i am not a cop, nor do I know if the above is true at all, personally, but I bet someone does.
The cop says “beautiful” when his partner hands over what he calls a “cool little restraint”. They purposely went out of their way to gaslight and traumatize her as much as they possibly could as well as her pet.

If the cops ever come to my house I have cameras everywhere and would see who's at my door. I'd open the window and talk thru the screen.
I disagree. It shouldn't be illegal. It should not even be in the realm of possibility for an officer to even have the ability of muting audio. There is just no reason whatsoever for the officer to be able to mute anything, a court should be able to review footage and decide if information should be redacted, not an officer.
Agree 💯! Body cams should not have the ability to turn the camera off or mute. They should be on the entirety of shift and as soon as shift ends they turn them over and the file downloads into a private server that cannot be accessed by the department

The only excuse to shut off a body camera is if the cop is taking a potty break. Beyond that there is no excuse or legitimate reason to shut it off.
