I really love Seam. He's interesting, mysterious...
I really want to toast with him, while the world collapses...

There's a lot to love about Seam; the fact that he's the only shopkeeper in the game, his adorable yet creepy design, his relaxed, almost nihilistic personality, his relationship with Jevil and the implication that he actually bested the mad jester in combat... he's definitely one of my favorite characters in DELTARUNE so far, but that's not what I'm going to talk about in this comment. What I'm going to talk about is something that has far-reaching implications for both Undertale and DELTARUNE, and may very well change the way you look at both of these games overall. It's a simple observation, one that could be written off as mere coincidence, but I believe it's the key to revealing just how deep the connection between Undertale and DELTARUNE really goes.
Take a look at Seam's right eye. It's a button with three holes that rotates periodically, right?
Now go back to the Omega Flowey battle in Undertale. Before the battle starts, when Flowey says "monsters... humans... everyone...", what does his face morph into?
That's right. Three rotating holes. Look for yourself if you don't believe me.
Now, the implications of that little detail on their own (that Flowey somehow knows about the existence of the Darkners, and planned to wipe them out alongside the humans and monsters after absorbing the power of the six human SOULs) are damning enough, but when considered in the context of DELTARUNE being a continuation of Undertale, they change everything. After all, who's to say that that detail isn't the only instance of Toby foreshadowing details about DELTARUNE in Undertale? It's already common knowledge that Toby began development of DELTARUNE almost concurrently with development of Undertale, which means that it's entirely possible that he's been leaving hints like this since the very beginning. It makes me wonder, how many seemingly nonsensical or inconsequential details in Undertale actually connect to DELTARUNE somehow? The idea that even now, six years after its release, Undertale may still hold secrets that we are yet to uncover, is one that excites me to no end, and I'm beyond thankful to this little shopkeeper for providing that first link for us.
And yes, I know this might seem like a stretch. But knowing Toby, I want to believe that my suspicions aren't unfounded.

Seam looks like a simple shopkeeper whose only friend went insane and is just pretty much done with life, but I feel like he holds a secret of some kind. A huge one perhaps.

Seam definitely seems to know a lot about the Dark World, and the fact that he's central to the Bonus Bosses and the Shadow Crystals means we'll be hearing a lot more from him in future chapters. I really hope we get to know more about him!

Honestly one of my favorite songs in the OST, just in general. The feeling of mysticality and "warmth" it brings with it as well as being tied to one of the more lore-heavy characters in the game gives off this certain charm which I really like. 10/10 would hug seam

The use of “Determination” in this track is interesting to me because Seam is already the most interesting character in Chapter 1, so the fact that his shop theme contains a motif that is very directly tied to Undertale makes me question even more about him.

Seam, and the nature of darkners in general, bring me a lot of confusion. Seam speaks of the Card Kingdom's history, how there use to be court specialists, of the former rulers. Seam himself seems somewhat ancient. But do these worlds not need dark fountains to exist? The instant a world's dark fountain is extinguished, the whole world disappears with it. Why would they be able to exist just fine before a dark fountain, but once one appears the world becomes dependent on it? It doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Time seems to pass normally inside the dark worlds, and the Card Kingdom's fountain couldn't be as old as Seam as, so what's the deal? The best theory I can come up with is that the history told to us by Seam, and all other darkners, is fake (except for Ralsei? This whole theory kinda depends on him telling the truth). It's kind of like the real-life concept of last Thusdayism. I believe the darkners' have implanted memories to create the illusion of long-standing worlds, despite only existing for a day.
This also brings me to Ralsei. Apart from Lacer, he's really the only person who gives us information about the nature of dark worlds. He's the one that tells us they cease to exist without their fountain, and that his world is special and allows darkners to remain. But is any of this verifiable? If we don't recruit any Cyber World darkners, do they truly perish from existence? Maybe, maybe not. We only have the survivorship bias of strictly being able to speak to the recruited darkners. If I recall correctly, Lancer is the only one who corroborates Ralsei's explanation. When asked where his castle is, he tells Susie that it's gone. Can his testimony be reliable? He could just be repeating what Ralsei told him, or something else could be going on.
Another long-shot theory that I only just considered while writing this: What if one of our party members is the angel of the delta rune? In Undertale, the prophecy of the delta rune was that an angel would appear and then the underground would go empty. That's kind of what's happening to these dark worlds; our group appears, then they go empty. The significance of the delta rune is never really discussed in Deltarune (unless it was Ralsei's prophecy and I'm misremembering), so perhaps this is it?
