Very educational, financial freedom & thanks for sharing. I've seen other similar videos but its always good to get a refresher on such a complex and labor intensive process. Just the labor and fuel alone that goes into processing silver suggest that it's likely no less than at least fairly valued.
You're right it should be much more expensive, but the prices have been kept artificially low. This is done by the number of paper ounces being traded on the marketplace being 500-1000x greater than the actual amount of physical silver. What's going on now is similar to a bank run, people are going to collect the actual physical which will restrict their ability to trade massive amounts of paper, and the real price will go up.
I remember this episode. Good stuff ! 80% to industrial demand? Might be a little outdated, but interesting nonetheless. The Fed can't print endless amounts of this stuff ! Lol That is real wealth! Thanks bro!
Silver SHOULD be in the triple digits and it will be soon! I choose to do what is uncool and unpopular and buy silver. Silver is real value when you actually hold it and own it.
I think flipping pet rocks would have a pretty small profit margin. Silver that I have flipped has had from 25%-300% ROI. That's decent I should've put that money into a savings account like my finance class taught me to do and earn a whopping .01%. Peace
So that your 4K TV or smartphone costs $600 instead of $1,200. It benefits the upper class more to have cheap silver and expensive gold, so why wouldn’t silver be shorted?
It has to be easier way they don't want to tell, because this process is mining operations at loss, no way to be profitable ! Nobody made silver like this hundreds years ago.
At first they found silver nuggets in nature, just like gold. Later on they started extracting silver from other ores when they invented cupellation, the little cups in the furnace process.
This is insane. All that crushing, all that melting all that cleaning and separating Only to get a rough form of silver that still needs to be refined to then be made into bars, coins or sold to industry. Why the hell is silver so cheap. Seems to me it it should be as expensive as Gold Or even more so since there’s so many more uses.
They used cupelation, that is the process in the furnace, SIlver is acompanied with lead, so high temperature burnes all other metals and in porous cup (cupel) leaves quite pure silver, I measured my cupeled silver, it was 99,7 % pure, obtained from various silver scrap. This process was used even in middle ages. Now is used chemical and electrolytic purification. But fire assay is still used as analythical method.
Lots and lots of Diesel for the heavy equipment to use, a lot of Electricity consumed running those motors that vibrate the asset, and lots of gas to operate the furnaces for Silver to be just $24 or less an ounce. Looks like a money pit.

And a whole lot cheaper !
Let us appreciate those who mine it, in order for us to be able to stack it.

Sweet Lord, after all that crushing, melting, burning - you only get that 1 gm of silver? Am I the only one thinking silver should be expensive?
There's probably 5 ounces of silver per ton of this ore.
That was an analysis to estimate the percentage of silver in silver ore !

There’s no reason Silver should be less than $1000 per ounce right now.
Quite right.
I bet not never look at my silver the same again! That process takes forever!!!!

It figures my favorite Sunday morning show would give some good basic answers to Silver production. Thanks ME.

A SHITLOAD of work to produce it !
All that for 1mg of silver?
Lizard Queen it may not seem like much but that might have only came from 10 ounces of ore
You can’t print physical silver.
Am I right folks?
It’s funny and baffling how silver is the most undervalued asset in the world.
First Majestic!
After all that it still needs to be refined more and silver is only 17.82 an ounce as of 9/19/19. Stack up.
I think you'd struggle to find something with a smaller profit margin than silver.

Yep thanks for the input Clayton Kelly!
I have been looking for this video. This is an abridged version. Can someone point me to the longer one?
And silver is under 17 per troy ounce dollars why?

I'm sure they would go broke if silver was the only element that could be sold in the market. Is the process similar for the copper, lead and zinc?
How many Silverback Apes are watching this!?

Very carefully lol

How did we use to obtain silver back in the day? Like Roman times, without chemicals.
Chemicals were on earth long before mankind. And there were many extremely intelligent people who knew how to use the chemicals.
