Why this channel?
I plan to show you how other nepenthes growers from around the world grow their plants on their windowsill and grow tent.
If you are interested and want to show us your plants, contact me so that I can set an interview.
(All you need is a recent smartphone and a good WiFi, I'll take care of the software).
Remy.
Great stuff Remy!
That robmollis is hooooot.
Ive just started keeping nepenthes and have around 4-5 nepenthes. Hope my collection expands as i live in India and great nepenthes Remy❤
India? You should be able to grow more lowland than me ;)
I have a bloody mary which is lowland and it should start pitchering soon. Some of its old leaves are having discolouration. The ppm in the RO here is around 75-100
@@AmoghChakrapani I started with Nepenthes Miranda, an easy intermediate. Now I have around 12 different species. the rest are propagated from basal cuttings.
@@AmoghChakrapani should work :) just make sure it gets 50% humidity or more.
@@WindowsillNepenthes The average humidity here is around 55-60% and doesn’t go below 25%
I like the rob x veitchii :]
Beautiful plants! You got a great collection :)
I got a Briggsiana, funnily enough its doing better than my Ventrata lol, every leaf is making a pitcher and new leafs start out with an orange colour and a red spine, but over time the leaf slowly turns Green whule the spine stays red.
Got a Mollis x Veitchii comming in from Wistuba later this month, gonna put it alongside my Briggsiana, hopefully itll enjoy the conditions :)
I feel like ventrata really like it hot, and even for me my Briggsiana was doing better because on my night temperature. I wish you the best with the mollis x veitchii ;)
After this video I’m now on the hunt for a n. robcantleyi x mollis. Unfortunately I’ve also found a n. epiphytica x mollis and I’m super indecisive lol
Tough choice for sure!
the windowsill is looking great ! I also recently got a (clip x eymae)x (veitchii x lowii) aw sg thats a bit older i think, and it is very intense in reds and strips, bit of flare in peristome , i hope to compare to yours as it develops :D
Oh yes! I hope we will be able to compare them! Small it's not impressive but it should gets better later
@@WindowsillNepenthes it has much potential and room to grow 🌱😀
Just 2 more days till national carnivorous plant day
Most excellent Remy your window sill is spectacular 🍃🍃🤓🍃🍃
Thanks! :)
The Perkinson Giant is my favorite one it looks unique and it’s a chonker lol
Question: is it possible to identify nepenthes just by its leaves? I got a rescue from this store where they only sell Briggsiana, Hookeriana, Bloody Mary, and Alata so I wonder if it’s possible to tell them apart that way. Anyways awesome video 😎
Yes this spectabilis is fantastic :) For identification via the leaves, yes ventrata, gaya and briggsiana have different leaf shape. I'll add that to my list of video to do
@@WindowsillNepenthes looking forward to it! Man you deserve more views for so much work, I just bought a shirt from your store to show my support (also the design is badass). Take care 🌱😎
@@szanar8422 Thanks a lot for supporting me :)
Hi Remy! What pot size do you use for the big ones? (inch, liters)
The big ones are 5 inches square. ;)
how often do you mist or water your sphagnum moss? they look so healthy and happy inside!
During summer and winter I spray morning and evening (so I barely water my plants.
what humidity level do you have in there? your plants are lovely btw
Between 50% and 65% humidity right now. :)
@@WindowsillNepenthes thanks!
Just curious how may Neps do you own currently?
Between the windowsill and the grow tent around 45 ;)
Do you have any plans for a greenhouse soon?
Sadly not at all. With -35°c outside during winter, I don't see how I could keep it warm.
How do you keep algae from growing on your sphagnum moss?
It's in an open room, with normal airflow, so the algae don't grow. And the live sphagnum moss grow fast. :)
Hey I was wondering how I can keep my small 2ftx2ftx3ft grow tent cool? It is so hot! I have a fan but it’s still to hot for my nepenthes!
Well, I know some inline fan have air conditioning inside. Of extract the hot air and spray/fog to build humidity back?
where do get your nepenthes from?
From shops like Brad's or Pascal, but also from other growers. It's a mix ;)
@@WindowsillNepenthes could you send me the link to pascals? i cant seem to find it
@@Pokeinvestin it's not a website but more a Facebook profile: Pascal St Hilaire.
Amazing windowsill! Would you mind keeping the names of the Nepenthes varieties up for longer?? Sometimes, I think I'm not interested, then I see another picture and I'm like oooh what's that and I have to rewind and fast forward till I can see where the name is 😅
What does BE#### mean?
BE = Borneo Exotic. It's the greenhouse that does this cross ;)
@@WindowsillNepenthes Oh thank you!
None of my nepenthes are even making pitchers…
Check this video, maybe it will help you spot what you need to change: ruclips.net/video/pWVpSNdVIgo/видео.html
@@WindowsillNepenthes the problem is that everything is like the video that you made! They get about 2-3 hours of direct sunlight and about 14 hours of a artificial grow light. Humidity is 70% and temperature is enough I think (21°C)
@@Gbiobibibbhoe Everything looks fine. Are the plants new to your house? How are the new leaves?
@@WindowsillNepenthes the plants aren’t new, but I recently moved them from a mini greenhouse to my room since they didn’t fit anymore. But the conditions are basically the same… the temperature and humidity are the same. One thing I noticed is that the new leaves are very floppy
@@Gbiobibibbhoe are you sure you don't water too much? Could be a little root rot.
