Thank you so much Paulo!! I double checked my label and you are absolutely right :( .... I mistook the 6 for a 5 because the character is very small. I have added your information in the description box because apparently I can't correct the video now...thank you for pointing this out.
As the proud new owner of a full tube of DS Buff Titanium, I found this very validating that I've chosen well. Thanks for doing this process for all to see!
I got Roman Szmal’s buff titanium for Christmas and I can’t wait to play with it. I think I might like the DS even more, but it is quite pricey. I like painting polar bears, I’ll have to paint another one when I get to play with it. Love how yours turned out!
Hy Sonya!! I think Roman Szmal and Daniel Smith are basically identical! I only slightly favour tubes over pan, but Roman Szmal quality is amazing…painting the bear with Titanium Buff felt like cheating!! A breeze. Happy new year my friend and thank you for your support!
Just about to finish my tube of DS Titanium Buff but will definitely pick up a full pan of Roman Szmal as well when replacing. Super interesting video. Many thanks from Australia 😎
It’s one of my favourite moments! Finishing a color and choosing a new one. Great choice! And thank you for writing to me from the other end of the world..
I have really enjoyed all of your groups of different colors of swatch comparisons. It is fascinating to see the differences. Thank you for doing these. Merry Christmas!
@@WatercolorElisabetta I only speak a tiny bit and I would love to speak more but at my age learning another language would be somewhat of a waste since I will never be able to travel again.
@@WatercolorElisabetta yes and I really enjoy doing photorealistic animal portraiture with colored pencil and OMS to make it into paint on the Fabriano artistico hot press that I love
You have your Da Vinci, yay! I had to laugh that you crave the California made paint and I hanker for the A. Gallo and Della Magna (I had to cancel my order from there as the shipping was "troppo caro"! Your husband chose lovely presents for you. I received sheets of Fabriano Artistico 300lb paper. Will I ever have the nerve to use it??!! Another marvelous video, looking forward to seeing you in the New Year! Buon anno Elisabetta! xoxo
What a nice comparison. I just got the Wallace Seymour Buff Titanium and intrigued by this pigment PW28. I have the Michael Harding Buff Titanium and its a little greyer than Daniel Smith's; Daniel Smith's will always be my favorite of the group.
How useful ! (My presents included TItanìùm Buff and Grey ! ) I have the Michael Harding Buff which is very pigmented but closer to A.Gallo in shade. I think I like the less brownish colour as more version for landscapes/cityscape. Like you I've not explored the Grey yet so look forward to when you do. Many thanks.
I use the DS version of Buff Titanium (the benchmark color as you say). Thank you for showing the Liz Steel mixture, I was fascinated to see how those three colors mixed so well together to create a nice Buff Titanium. Awesome!
Hi!! I found it absolutely amazing, this mix! You are the only one who mentioned it 😳. Have a very happy new year my friend! Happy holidays. Thank you as usual for your message.
It's not easy to draw animals and you did it so easy and well done. I love the result of the polar bear :D I don't have this colour, never used, as I never use white in my watercolours. But I see the use you did and other watercolorist and I like it. Feliz Navidad y Próspero Año Nuevo Eli!!
Thank you for sharing this comparison video. When this first came out, I tried mixing my own, but eventually bought buff titanium by DS. I also enjoy MMG juanne brilliant #2 for mixing. Both are excellent staples. That bear is a winner. 🏆 😍 I love it.
Thank you for the info! I was wondering if I should invest in this color, and I am not so sure... seems like it'd be possible to mix yourself with some Chinese white and a touch of earth yellow or brown, maybe a little black. I have a tube of Chinese white that I basically never use, so I might experiment a bit and see if it's useful for me. Merry Christmas!
@@WatercolorElisabetta So, I saw that I had erroneously purchased the Rosa Gallery Naples Yellow Light, which is basically titanium white with a touch of yellow ochre or raw sienna, I think (normally I use the White Nights version which is pure PY216, and I absolutely can't paint skies without it). I tried some mixes with PR122, PG7, and PB60, and it seems to mix all the powder pinks, pastel greens and blueish grays that I have seen people mix with buff titanium. It is slightly more yellow-leaning but I haven't noticed it much (my blues didn't turn green, for example). May be a substitute for people who want to try it out on a budget (Rosa tubes are like 2.80 Euros in Germany). Anyhow, sorry for rambling :) Happy New Year!
I have not been buying a single tube from them since the beginning of the war. These are the first tubes I had bought, I think pans are maybe better!! Thank you for the info about the quantity in the tubes…it’s really incredible if they do so 😡. Anyway, I really have switched to Rosa Gallery now!
Hello Elisabetta - I am debating buying the Rembrandt or AGallo because I need a light wash... was wondering can you do a head-to-head comparison of the lightest of the Buff Titanium.... in a wash from the darkest mass tone to the lightest wash please... it would be so helpful. The whole box of each swatch is all the mass tone.
Thanks for the video! I have only DS but now I want also Rembrandt because it looks like a brilliant. Also thanks for nice magic music 🎶 I like your bear
Excellent! Love using white ... I don't need to buy a lavender and many other colors if I have a white in my pallet. Titanium white makes for a great hue on concrete sidewalks, light stucco houses, and the nice neutral grey when mixed with a real black. 😊 I have the Van Gogh (white) & Daniel Smith (T. white) versions of your 10. I prefer a mono white. Thanks for the comparison 👍
Fantastic video Elisabetta! Buff Titanium can be such a versatile colour, I enjoy it too. I tend to use it in mixes. I have Danial Smith. Cheating on your sketch?? Mine would end up looking like a dog!! 😂 Your painting was lovely, don’t downgrade it. ❤️❤️🖌️🎨👩🏻🎨🎄❄️☃️
Hi!! One buff titanium is more than enough, unless you are a crazy collector like me 😂. However, it’s nice to alternate them just to experiment. Happy new year and thanks for stopping by!
I love Lisa Steel’s mix for buff titanium and would like to get the trio of transparent red oxide, French ultramarine, and the yellow… Is it called rosana? I am looking online and not finding it. Maybe I got the name wrong? Please if it is not to much trouble to tell me the name?
@@WatercolorElisabetta yes! Thank you for your time. So helpful and kind! I have been wanting to put together a minimalistic palette for urban sketching and I knew about ultramarine and burnt sienna but it just wasn’t quite right or enough. Maybe the shift to red oxide and the yellow will be it! I loved the results you showed in this video with it🤩
@@WatercolorElisabetta Thank you, I also think the same. I've never seen anyone try this watercolor to be sure. I ended up buying Van Gogh's titanium buff so I wouldn't make the wrong choice.

The titanium white (101) from White Nights it's a buff titanium?
Hello Hugo, I have never tried it but I suppose, from the name and pigment, that it should be an opaque white, not a titanium buff.
