Because it is. Despite LC basically winning and managed to get the golden bough back, Ryoshu herself left in shambles. She lost the only thing that mattered through her whole life. Both the father that seemed to care for her and the child that gave her hope for the future.
In a way, she lost her own future through losing Araya as she seems to see herself within the child. She wanted nothing more than a better, more gentler life that prioritize the individual's thoughts and feelings than anything else and Ryoshu was able to gave all that to her, even for a brief moment

The moment Ryoshu repeatedly assured us that she had killed the Pinky for good, I started to think... Could this be Araya herself? Then a thought came, did Araya became like, Pinky's vessel and that's why she lived? That's why everything about her is glitchy and distorted? But then the actual reveal was that she actually IS Araya, the child Ryoshu have been trying to find all along with no former Pinky influence in sight. And god, that reveal and how she retorts against Ryoshu's statement hurts so bad.

@1AMC1TR1CAC1D The book has like 5 characters. The lord, the narrator, Yoshihide, his daughter and the monkey as well as the apprentices.
In my interpretation of the book and canto, the nursefathers all represent yoshihide in some way, their hell screen being ryoshu. They even have apprentices that they mistreat in some way or another like book Yoshihide. The lord could be Hermes, as the index nursefather was directed to do all he does by it and ends up killing himself after finishing his hell screen like yoshihide.
The monkey could be Ren since he is always besides Araya and actually cares for her. Also dying in the same "burning carriage" as her

This canto remind me a lot of my mom. Shes was a troubled kid with a flawed dad who kept getting into relationships. My mom said on thing to me that really stuck. She never believed in love at first sight and that you would instantly fall in love with your kid but the second she held me she was willing to do anything for the baby in her arms (me).
I feel like Rien's waves flashback was about himself, he was being pushed by the Prescripts to create that which he came to love, but it then told him to destroy it, he doesn't want to, he loves them, but he tells himself he has no right to be sad because he's still following the Prescripts. He's fanservicey and STILL a compelling character dear lord

Remember the prescript can somehow predict the future and the place he died in was strangely similar to the place Roland died on his bad ending, his rebellion sadly align with the prescript will

I forgot to write this before, but this song affects me more than any other.
I lost my mom last year, no reason to explain the cause more than saying that i knew she wasn't living for more than 10 more years. I was tottally devasted at that moment, only having a single though "why her?", and also "why it wasn't me?".
But, even at that moment, i found a window in the form of a song "compass" ( yea, i think you know how i discover Mili's songs), and then i found proyect moon games, specially limbus company.
The ending canto songs were very important for me in some way (except between two worlds), specially the last part of the songs as that's were they get the peak of emotional reaccion. But this song was by far the one which most afected me.
In some parts it looks like my mum is singing, in a world she is still alive, but i'm not. Even some parts of the song are similar to what my mum felt for me (but well, i suppose every mother feels that type of things for their childs).
As someone already said "S is not for sayonara, but for saikai", so i suppose she's still here, somewhere waiting for us to reunite again.
As my dad said, my mum planted the seeds, and lived enough to see some of the roots grow, so it's my time to make the roots grow to become trees, and make her be proud.
So, basically, thanks to proyect moon to make this peak canto, and also thanks to every member of Mili for this song. And if anyone is reading this, always care for your loved ones, and don't create a spiral of sorrow as the house of spiders (or specifically Ryoshu's mom and Rien) did.

Saikai is also a word for hope to meet again. “Sayonara (good-bye)” sounds sad, but I believe Ryoshu will meet Araya again and play the guitar together.

This Canto has really made me cry alot, and made me really understand Ryoshus character more. She had always kept that blade unsheathed, as to symbolize her still holding all the unresolved grief and trauma she had experienced in the House of Spiders and the loss of her daughter, and she has yet to confront her own past at this state.
But when her scabbard changed to white due to Araya literally becoming one with her sword now and the fact the memories she had with Araya and the House of Spiders was basically severed by her, she can finally be free from every burden she has felt in the past as she let go of all grievance and guilt she had on her back, and finally felt freedom from the Nursefathers and she'd no longer cling to her past. My wife Yoshihide really went through a character arc.... This is by far the best and most beautiful Canto I've ever played, but somewhat also the hardest (evil gregor). Project Moon really never fails to impress us!!!
I think the last part was "impress" rather than "disappoint" since the way you said that can mean that they always disappoint where it should be the opposite

Interesting that this mili song can be applied to Rien and Ryoshu, but also Ryoshu and Araya. Rien seemed to genuinely love and care for Ryoshu, in an odd way.
But one much more genuine then any of the other nursefathers. Maybe he saw it as a way to love the family he never got to love before the prescripts took it away?
And with Ryoshu and Araya; the connection is more obvious. But this is just my interpretation of it all.

Two days ago, I was listening to this song, I was writing a profile essay about my mother for an assignment. Then yesterday, she suffered from a heart attack and passed away. The lyrics made me think about her and how she has been a mother to me. My mother was a wonderful mother despite her flaws, I'll forever be her daughter always. I just saw an analysis saying this song is from Rien’s perspective. I went back and listened to it again, and if that’s true, it’s genuinely heartbreaking. He really did love Ryoshu, but he just couldn’t show it. He also failed to earn her trust, and everything ended up like this because of it.
It is really fantastic that the lyric can be interperted as Rien to Ryoshu, Ryoshu to Ayara or Ayara to Ryoshu at the same time and each interpertation gives extra flavor to the song itself. Truly peak writing.

This one, is really…really poignant. I’m someone who is extremely close with their mother, similar to Araya when she was young. Ironic, then, that two hours ago, that this releases.
My mom’s gonna be going through surgery, mostly related to her skull, which has a small hole leaking her brain fluid. This song genuinely has helped me realize just how much I took my time with my mother for granted, even when I told myself otherwise. Thank you Mili. Thank you Project Moon. Thank you Ryoshu, for trying to be there for your daughter, even when she could not be with you physically.

...Probably a good thing the line after that is 'but now I know sacrifice is the easy path' aka 'I now know not to do this without considering how alone you'd be without me' to point out that as moving as self sacrifice is, that for humans the ideal parenting path is much more about being there in person to teach and support every step of the way, but still.
Ryoshu 100% making it clear she would pull a mother spider if she had to but also dedicated not just to keeping Araya alive and well, but to be there thriving with her and if for some reason she can't, making sure her daughter knows leaving wasn't by choice and she'd do whatever it took to reunite with her one day...
What a stab to the feels. Ryoshu *really* out here showing everyone what true parenting should be like (sacrifice and nourishment yes, but also support and joy and putting your all into how you can both have happiness together), even with everything in her horrifying life stacked up against her understanding any of that and just..! Ryoshu is so considerate and caring of Araya it's almost painful.
Really hoping that now they're both free of the house of spiders we'll get to see more of that side of Ryoshu out in the open, possibly aimed towards the rest of the group too (if only so the rest of the bus realise she's not so scary and give her -and Araya if/when she comes back- all the hugs and affection deserved).
Been through alot of things just to get to this point. Sometimes i even think if it's even worth it. Of course Limbus proves me wrong once again. The Canto was incredibly emotional and it made me cried more than once. I will cherish this story as part of my life going forward. Thank you PM and Mili for making my life better.
