What could be the reason that the REGEN command does not update the count? In my file it updates. When I send the file to someone else who has full AutoCAD 2022, it doesn't update for him... FIELDEVAL=16 And it still doesn't help. We also tried: FIELDEVAL=31. didn't work either. you have ideas? Thanks
Hi good job.👍 I have a 3d module house wall made of wood. how can I make the table automatically so that the name and width, thickness, and length of each element are displayed. Do you have any ideas?
Just what I have been looking for. But I have one question: Can I reference the block count to another table in a different drawing? Like in excel, you can set a cell on a worksheet to reference data in a cell in another worksheet.
This is a great tutorial, thanks for it. I have dynamic blocks forming an array in my drawings and would like a count of the total individual pieces in each array. is this possible?
Hey Brandon, thank you for the video. I have a count related question. This is what I am trying to accomplish: I need to be able to put a field in a block that counts how many times I have copied or inserted that block in the drawing. So that everytime I insert or copy over this block, inside that block a little text tells what number of that same block that is. I don't know if I am explaining myself correctly. Let`s say, for example I have a block of staircase step number. So I wan to insert the stair step number block and insted of having to change the number in the attributes manager of every single step, I want to just copy it over and for each new instance the number of the lastly placed one changes to the correct updated count but the other ones remain the same. Is that possible? Of course I am giving you a very stupid example, because for one number I am not really going to create a block, but I need it for other more complex labels. Do you happen to know of a way to do this? Thank, you man. Appreciate it
Thanks for the tutorial, but I have some questions. 1. Can I do multiple COUNT in my drawing, for example: a separate table for each floor in my building. I notice that a new layer had been created "0-CountArea" for a selected zone, maybe this is also possible with a zone for 1-CountArea, 2-CountArea, 3-CountArea, ...? 2. Can I auto-hide rows in the table whose count is 0? And when I add this item back in the zone, it reappears in the table? 3. How do I fix the error (with the yellow exclamation mark): Exploded block => "Non-block geometries that match the appearance of the counted blocks"? These are lines that occur somewhere else in the drawing and have nothing to do with the block. I can remove these lines then the error is gone, but if I just draw the line back, the error returns...
In short - I am numbering production pieces according to the cutlist from another program and wanted a block that would increase attribute input number by 1 on each insert.
Awesome, good work. I have a question; Would it be possible to count the individual blocks inside a specific area only? Say, count the block "tree" on separate sides of a road individually, outputting two results.
Second this; I often have a all of my blocks within the model space for easy copy and pasting, so being able to select an affected area would be helpful.
@@davidstanley6883 You know I did actually, but I think it was first in 2023/2024 the function came out. Now you can assign the field to only search inside another shape and it works real good
Sorry I missed this earlier! Hmm I'm not too sure on this, I'll try and look some into it, could also try find&replace to add prefixes, it'll be a bit more time to do them but will work
Is there a similar function to "count" linear quantities? I spend hours hand totaling granite curb for roads & planter beds and this would be a huge time-saver...
Hey i was trying to create count field in Attributes via sheet number or layout I want to count particular block in that sheet I have created one attribute that works fine but when i go to next sheet it' shows zero that because in previous expression i used sheet 1 how to solve this can anyone help? Or how to use ctab in my current field because whenever i tried to insert field in my current object it shows layout number but after that it doesn't work
after i created a block i got this error when i try to view the location of all counted blocks The current selection does not contain any supported object for counting

Your tutorial help me now. Your are good man thanks
I got 3 block which are same part name, but it has 3 elevation view (Top, Front and Sideview) in the model view, will it count qty. as 3?

Is there a way to count with an array? dynamic block with an array inside.

Perfect ! Nice short video that quickly explained a great tool.
Very good video. However when I do the same command nothing shows on the count window. Can you help?
Hi. Brandon how to count blocks in paper space?
Hey man is there a walkaround in previous versions?
In short - I am numbering production pieces according to the cutlist from another program and wanted a block that would increase attribute input number by 1 on each insert.
Is it possible to select counted objects to, for example, remove them from the project?

Did you ever find out how to do this?

This was great. I tired to add prefix to my numbering for example, RE-1, RE-2, RE-3..abd couldn't make it work. Could you give me tips how to do it?

can you set up a formula to substract specific number from the auto-count?
58000 views and only 300 (ok 301 now) likes, people HIT THE LIKE BUTTON.
Thanks for the video and whole channel!

hi, does it work only in model tab?

Hello, counts are highlighted in grey color. how to remove that
Thank you Mr Brandon
Cheers! Thanks for watching
Copying the block does not update the count after regening the model space
after i created a block i got this error when i try to view the location of all counted blocks
The current selection does not contain any supported object for counting
thanks
nice tool thanks for explaining
Nice presentation.
if you don't mind please if you can share the formula to count the blocks.
Anyone know how to create a block count table with blocks only on a certain layer?
is this works in macbook
Ya it should work fine on the new version on Mac!
Thank you, really usefull.
Nice,
For REGEN just type RE
