in 2006 I was choosing between the Nord and a Hammond XK-1. I emailed Nord and asked if there were any plans to put drawbars on their instruments, and if the Electro could host Mellotron samples. The answer to both questions was a very curt "no." I bought the Hammond and some software Mellotron samples. It took Nord a while but they finally built what I was looking for way back then.
That was 16 years ago Grandpa. Of course things have changed lol. We aren't living in the same world as when you were young.

If they could just add a pitch/mod control to this it would be my dream keyboard. Yes, I know the stage exists. But it's absurdly expensive.
When I read every article telling me that the electro is “best for electric piano and organ players” I thought I’d have to get a Stage, but after watching this I realize I don’t have to break my bank to get quality piano and mellotron sounds.

I own the electro 5 and the only thing I'm jealous of is switching between sounds without note cutoff.
Mark Landes thats true but thats not a problem. Just buy a keybord/synth that you can put on top of your electro 5. So that you dont need to switch the electro, use two keyboards.. getting a different synth or keyboards is the better idea and youll have more selection of sounds.. and old motif rack or jv-1080 rack modules will work as well. If you want to carry racks.

What I don't get is how long it took Nord to do this when so many other keyboards don't have this issue... ??

Wow the organ demos are actually refreshing. Finnaly some gospel/ churchy demos. AT LEAST SOMEONE LISTENS. THANKS NORD. Now you guys helped out churches on the move and gigs that require that gospel/jazz feel.

You need to start implementing built in audio interfaces into your keyboards. It's a great feature to have for musicians who use VSTs which is a majority these days. Also, bigger memory, nicer piano samples for acoustic music, and a better keybed. Hopefully you will listen before everyone completely migrates to VSTs and controllers.
It's definitely something many producers and musicians would love as it would allow for far more creative sounds during playing. The thing is, it's a tough feature to implement if you don't want the devices to become bigger. It's already packed with mechanics for key-weighting, internal speakers and wiring+pcb boards for the internal system. Putting effort into a stand-alone system that can run VST's would require quite an overhaul in the current builds. (And I'm not even talking about pricing yet). Besides that, you'd have to think about where the device will end up. I like slim models cause I can fit them into my desk-drawer but there'd be no need for putting a device like that there since I could just connect any line-outs to my computer and run it into a DAW for VST usage. Getting it to run samplers like Kontakt or synths like Serum would be the main reason to implement this, and even then, you could just use MIDI-output into a laptop with a DAW. It is possible, of course, and companies will have to look into it sooner or later. Since the patches are getting so good, it's becoming harder and harder to differentiate high-end models. I'll give it around 5-7 years or so until we get the first devices that can do this. For the time being, I'd recommend using it on Laptop or PC with DAW for this.
Requires man-bun and unbutton flannel and rolled-up sleeves to unlock all features. seriously though, great demo. would love to have it.

Does the Nord Electro 6 support switch pedal (besides control and sustain pedals)? For example, can I insert a "Boss FS-6" or a "Boss FS-7"? I visited Nord Electro's page and I did not come across to such types of pedals, whereas at Nord Stage's page, I did. Thank you in advance!

I'm waiting delivery of my new nord electro 6d 73. Pls pls pls let me know the name of the last piece that was excellently performed or if it is your magnificent improvisation.
Does anyone know why I can't access transpose? Manual says Hold down TRANSP (shift + Live mode) and set the value by turning the dial. I've tried this and all that I see in the led screen is +1 the dial doesn't make any changes. It does however move the key up one semitone. That is all tho. I can access the +6-6 using the global transpose, however that's no good to me for quickly moving through setlists that I need to be in different keys.

Great, now with seamless transition, but as an electro 5 owner I would only upgrade if you added a pitch bend and modulation wheel. Midi implementation is restricted so much that you can’t even midi up another slave keyboard with pitch bend and modulation.
Hi I am also an electro 5 owner and have run into the same problem. I am currently working on a pitch bend effect box that bends the direct signal from the keyboard. Similar to the way guitar effect pedals work. I'll let you know if I have any luck!

Rob WilkoPiano - hey Rob! I had the electro 5D and loved it, but couldn’t get a simple MIDI/send transpose to work, so had to sell it. It couldn’t send transpose to my other keyboard..... Do you know if they have fixed this for the Electro 6D HD?

I'm considering buying. Have tried one out, the feel and sounds are great. But can't find an easy way of one patch to another while playing live. With my very old Roland XP30's it's just a case of pressing two number buttons and enter to access any of 128 user patches. Can anyone tell me, is it that simple on the Nord 6D? Help

When it comes to sounds, Nord has highest sound. But their product never changes and instrument is always unconfortable.
You can play only few sounds when you can download many sounds, because of limited memory size.

Keys weighted at all?
More weight than a synth but less weight than a piano. Hence the “semi weighted” title. It feels good especially for organ
