Hilarious that they think it’s a good idea to move to a gacha-focused model over 6 years into the game’s lifespan.. like a lot of us didn’t love this game for the fact that it *wasn’t* focused on being a grubby gacha.. feels sooooo bad
Gacha would have been fine if 2 character were releasing every 40 days like genshin and honkai, they release like 5 to 6 character every month and except ppl to core for them with no guaranteed drop and all rng based drops.
In honkai you can get from gacha a meta character and use them almost everywhere for longer than a year or two. In MSF they will release content that will explicitly not let you use that character, like in pocket dimensions.
The exciting part about this is how many people cored hard for Annilators, yet this plan requires you to go into the character release with a core hoard ready. So they're starting behind on this, and will have to get back into this slowly--likely starting with 0 or 1 unlock for Orchis (if they can build a small hoard in time for Sentinel, maybe 0.5), then maybe 1 or 2 for Nightstalkers (3 characters by this point would probably destroy any modest core hoard, so it would be sacrificing unlocks for the next team after this in exchange for more raiding power).
@snuglife3697 Well said I cored for all 3 of Annihilators add to that as a newish player ( level 97 ) Lady Death Strike nor Scientist Supreme weren’t in the meta when I started, I don’t even have them built up. So I’m planning on saving my cores for the new Night Stalkers raid team.
Thanks for math update. Planning a hybrid scenario 2, going to wait a week or 2 of team orbs and see what I'm missing to core (coring on back end rather then front end).
It's a shame we won't know in advance which character each month is getting a Gladiator style release, they need to keep us on our toes.... can't let us plan TOO much lol
@@Boilon By that last blog it seems they have a engagement issue not a monetary issue. I think everything they are doing now to engage players more is actually going to burn people out.
Right now, my plan is to do my 3 50 core refreshes for the guardian event milestone so I can get those extra 40 shards. Once that event ends, I will start hoarding my power course to precisely put them into Coring for these new characters.
I have this terrible problem where I’ll revive a toon for a raid using cores, when my alliance isn’t even pushing for the next milestone lmao. That’s gonna stop tho 😅

I'm there too! I have used power cores in raids myself to push things, but yeah that's less cores for characters/events the more you do this :(
Have found I’ve been doing that a little recently - some sections in Orchis raids feel like they’ve become more difficult/awkward than they initially were too
They should implement a pity system seriously, the new gachas has a pity system implemented in the game, like if you core and open 10orbs it should guarantee you a 100shards drop, a game implementing a gacha system that is built around team base performance needs to have at least a safety net for the f2p not be prevented from doing contents of the game.
I mean I suppose in a way the "pity" are these milestones for opening the bad gacha orbs. But, it really isn't a TRUE pity. But, the problem is I believe I outlined here or previous videos is that this isn't a real gacha game since we rely on a full team vs gachas that each character is good stand alone.
@@Boilon yeah that's the problem it's not build to be a gacha, I don't know what scopely was thinking doing this, just so stressful my alliance had unlock sentinel and some hasn't yet since they don't have enough cores lol it's just frustrating we can't even do the higher raid level yet for orchis, since not all of us can one shut or two shut tech nodes lol
im a f2p top 50 in my arena shard and i think im just going to core to half unlock and save from there, seems like the smartest thing to do for me.
If you're okay with taking a few extra weeks (but also shaving some weeks off) this is sound. I know some player's dont like the glass half full approach so I tried to provide ways you could do full unlocks but have to skip coring others.
I'm a newer player with under 120 days played and I stayed in top 10 mostly top 4 every arena payout, that 500 daily cores from arena helps a lot. I'm saving for Knull, just gonna ignore every toon at this point now that I got Annihilators up and running.
top 3 in my arena shard got 7ys or diamonds on the new Annihilators and that's tough to beat with mirror match. so I'm good where I'm at. Hopefully can hold this spot for longer unless more and more players in my arena shard gonna whale to have those diamonds in their Annihilators that I will eventually drop below rank 20

What I used to do is save cores for last character on each team. You could also do second to last if in a rush since with that method you unlock last character before you unlock 2nd to last. With longer wait period it's still kind of the same but with a month long wait period. I cored with Annihilators but just an unlock for Gladiator, I skipped Gorr at 1st, unlocked Thanos, went back and unlocked Gorr (who at that point had quite a bit of shards) and then took Thanos to 4stars( I saved up a lot of cores and saved them for the core spending event which is when I unlock Gorr/Thanos). So now I sit with a 5star Gladiator, a 3 star Gorr (who when his calendar ends will at least be 4star) and Thanos I don't know yet. Meaning...in theory if I wait I should be able to unlock Sentinels in a month for free if I wait and have enough cores (from all spent) to unlock last character and back track to 2nd to last if I have enough. Hopefully there us another core spending event at that time. But that is my plan...to wait the month and see how my cores numbers are at then. They did seem to keep the core orbs for Gorr and Thanos around a lot longer than with past core orbs. Before the F2P event would start and the core orb would be taken away.
so we are going to get less resources, have less things to do, have teams missing so you cant compete. sounds liike you cant have player ngagement f2p anymore.

If Blade does come out as a legendary character, won't we also need to have all the previous characters unlocked to get Blade, which would preclude us from skipping any characters?
I mean if next lego follows the OML structure you can unlock at 4-star without any star requirement, BUT, you would need them at least unlocked this is true. Let's hope the Thanos "Event" passes before then?

I think there’s a wait and see approach as well. They’ve said they’re letting the core orbs stay in the store longer moving forward and we see that with the Gorr and Thanos orbs being in there right now still. Wait to see how lucky you get with all the free orbs and then make a decision. Might even be worth waiting till you see who the one monthly free character is too.
I think you're right that the 675 core orb for characters likely will stick around for longer than the past. But, I mean with the same logic you'll always be waiting around to see if you get lucky on something. So I think going back to a character a month later to core for them isn't that sound when characters keep coming out new if you get me.
@@Boilon I get that. I mean it more from a perspective of if I can save 2-3 orbs by seeing how the first week or two go. Like I have 12 orbs of sentinel right now so that potentially saved me 1,350 cores compared to if I had just unlocked Sentinel day 1.
I'm still leveling my account (day 40 ish) so just spamming exp and resource options with cores until 100 or at least 95
I believe that their intent is to have one character per team that has an event, starting with Orchis. I wonder how far in advance we'll know which so we could potentially skip coring for that one. My guess is not until 2-3 weeks after release though.

I sure hope they have a shit ton of new content planned, because if we're getting the same ol same ol it's going to be BAD. New characters every other week is the only thing that kept me playing this game, because there is no content to play. I'm a little over 300 days played and I think in that time there was 1 legendary release, DD7, and a couple pocket dimensions. That will not be enough with this release method.
This is going to be a problem in arena. When they are going to release arena toons and you are now using cores to get the toons, the ftp will get fucked because they are going to drop out of the higher arena ranks
I think that's the point... It provides value to the big spenders (not the tiny $80/mo spenders).
I mean yeah, F2P will always "be behind" so to speak, I am just empowering players to be able to make decisions on how to use their cores and try to stay a bit above water.
I dropped 3k cores on sentinel and have 8 orbs. That’s minimally 38 shards in a couple days so partial isn’t too bad. But I saw in day 1 I either bury myself with orchis or move on to night stalkers
3k cores would be like 5 orbs at most, and 30 shards min. That being said, you could go for the partial unlock route and that still shaves a few weeks off. It depends what your threshold is and how much cores you're getting monthly.
Not sure if this was worked into your math or not, but won't coring for events be 150 cores instead of 200 per day as we usually get enough bonus energy for the first coring each day?
150 is relevant to ISO events as you do get a free pack. The campaign free pack is every other day actually so I still usually just calculate 200 daily for this. Anyways the difference is minor and didn't wanna break the flow of the math lol, milage will vary slightly but I still think it's representative.
Unlock everything f2p until next arena team then core to 7 stars lol
Id hate for you to make another column, but I'm doing like 2/3 - 3/4 unlocks on characters. Core the unlockable character as I go during its initial unlock. Stop coreing when I project that it will unlock.
If you're referring to the line in the blog talking about 1 Gladiator esque event per team/month we won't know who this character is in advance though so that's unfortunate, they won't give us this much detail to plan who to core necessarily. So, I will be taking each new character by they're own usefulness/merit. People will do their own things but I feel a lot of people don't like to half unlock a character since they're spending cores to not use right away.

I bought 9 orbs and got 75 Sentinel shards I got about the same as with End game Thanos
MSF is a gacha where every banner you need to go to pity
Problem is, the pity system sucks compared to actual gacha games lol
So, I'll need 11k cores per char. 90% of orbs give 6 shards with the other 10% giving a jackpot (of 8)
I mean that's not the % of the orbs lol. But, if you feel your luck is that bad, I suppose it's possible just not likely over the LONG term.
@@Boilon I've been playing for2065 days . have 290 chars (271 of them maxed) and that, for me, is pretty much exactly the % for the orbs (well, except for that 1 40 drop I got on Sentinel on the day he was released)

And even if you focus on Arena & Raids, a Crucible team could be necessary for an Arena Legendary.

I cored for the annihilators, now not only is my core stash gone, also the hype of new characters has worn off for me. I'm happy to work on upgrading my annihilators, and not get the new team
Sadly that's the game going forward , spitting out new characters every 7-10 days.
No scenario 5? Skip all and just wait to get them by free orbs
