We spent our labor day weekend in Shawnee National Forest. It is our least favorite Overlanding destination because of the lack of vehicle-based dispersed camping and too many vague rules- I guess that's included in the package when you travel to Illinois. This National Forest also lacks the wild factor that we are looking for, and there are private properties everywhere. It feels like a subdivision with overgrown trees. Of course, these are base on our own experience, and yours might be different. Regardless, we still made the most out of it. Like most places we go to, most of our activities are not captured on film because filming everything will defeat spending quality time with things that matter most- yourself and family. IL has some good looking cliffs near the big MS river. Garden of the gods in Shawnee National Forest! Awesome sky views. the rocks smooth for climbing. Beautiful family adventure. 👍

I love seeing your son like being in nature vs. nowadays kids like to be surrounded by an abundance of toys, especially electric ones. Oh, I am glad you found your son's footwear. What gorgeous rocks/boulders are @13:33! So you made it from "Impossible" to "Possible" to find the area to camp? You always select the "right songs" for your video, which I admire. Amazing video. The scenery was beautiful. We live in Indiana and I haven't been there yet. That was good about the shoe. Bummer about the ranger telling you not to park there. I don't like when people party nearby and make noise. Those rock formations are absolutely beautiful ❤️.

I know how that is when the kids lose their shoes, happens to us a lot too. You guys made a good meal while camping, the scenery out there is really nice.

Me myself I couldn't imagine if we can manage it 😅. But I really believe it's one of a kind experience. It's not the travel but the journey. I like that. Sadly lang talaga at di pala pwede magpark dun, but you enjoyed it for a night naman. And I'm glad to see Max enjoying the forest as well. He looks well behaved. Hehe
Salamat. Living minimally and being exposed to the elements is not for everyone. I would say na ultimate test sya sa marriage at teamwork nyong mag asawa specially with a toddler. Max is behave outdoors and on road trips, not so much indoors :) Regards kay Marko ❤️
@@maxdexpeditions that is so true. Kaya natutuwa akong nakikita na maaga pa lang e nakakaexperience na ng ganyan si Max. And I can relate to that, pag dalawa lang kayong magtravel mejo mas easy, but with a baby or toddler is really challenging. Naamaze talaga ako sa adventures nyong pamilya. My husband told me one time na itry namin magbakasyon sa cabin during cold season, and I'm so unsure if I can manage it haha, although not necessarily na sa remote area a at mas di ko gusto haha.
