Glad you enjoyed. Was fun to go chasing vertebrates there instead of ammonites. Will likely be back at some point to attempt to collect some of those too. Highly recommend going if you have not been
Along Brightstone there's meant to be a whole dinosaur tail visible in the cliffside. I've picked up plenty of black foosilised wood along Sandown Bay. There's been several recent landslips that I want to go visit.
I am sure there is a lot coming out at the minute. One of the local collectors posts finds onto FB and I feel like I see posts every few days with more and more dinosaur material coming out.
There were so many dino tracks. I'm glad that the National Trust has protected them so we can go and see them still. I posted a link in the last short to my Instagram which has a bunch more photographed than the ones I filmed
Thanks for sharing. We have been to these sites many times and the finds are few and far between now but still wonderful, Thanks for the pointer to Otherlands - looks interesting so I have ordered a copy.
My pleasure. I love fossil hunting and it's great I can share it with everyone. First time to the Isle of Wight and I'd count it as a fairly successful trip. Will be back to see if I can do better. Hope you enjoy the book!
We did IoW a couple of years ago Andrew ,St Catherine’s Point (Rocken End ) is more or less guaranteed to find Ammonites also Yaverland at the chalk cliffs you can find Ammonites as well if your lucky ,pointer for next time 👍
Thanks for the comments. Ive seen a fair few videos where people go targeting the ammonites too so knew they were around on the IoW. My background is in dinosaurs and vertebrates so made the decision to hit the sites where they might be found in the limited time I had (was also with my mum and my wife). I'm sure I'll be back and after some of the ammonites too!
RUclips clearly didn't like my accent as it thinks I say Fort Brick and has automatically put in the separate headers in the Chapters (including Crab Core instead of Crab Claw). The text both in the video and in the description correctly have Fort Victoria labelled. I have tried to update manually now but don't know when it might update. Apologies for any inconvenience or annoyance
Good to see a good iow hunt on youtube

Some lovely hunts even if there weren't many finds. The dinosaur footprints looked incredible!❤

Another very interesting video and Thankyou for all the information 😊
Glad you enjoyed it! Was fun exploring somewhere completely new to me even if not the most productive in terms of fossils
