    This episode conversation is a gem to me as a junior product designer. I had difficult time to manage PM expectation and feel bad that I have to compromise my design decision to avoid conflict and tension. The way Alexis explain the working relationship give me confidence to work better with PM. Thanks George & Alexis 💖

      Thank you for sharing Adelyn!! 🥰 Learning to see ‘healthy’ team tension as a sign I am doing my job right was a big light 💡 moment for me. I immediately started feeling more confident in those sometimes intimidating meetings like - design reviews and backlog refinement.

    非常棒的對話!!好的設計師最需要的就是聆聽或者讓提出反饋的人感覺自己在被聆聽

    Thank you Alexis and George!✨ It’s very helpful, especially for the designers on the Scrum team. In my early teamwork experience, I found that I was defensive: I didn’t like to show my design and got judged by others. But it was not working, even for me or my team.
    Designers can’t work isolated from the team, the best way is to get others’ feedback and let them involved in your job ASAP, finally, you’ll get a lot of sponsors, not opponents. Like Alexis said.
    As an introvert, it’s not easy for me to play the PO role: perform the product, share product info, gather the team to pre-perform the showcase, etc. I still keep learning at work. Big thanks for the sharing! 💗

    These two episodes are excellent! I’m an assistant product manager in a start up for about half year. Recently we’re developing new features, which is also my first time taking the lead. Most of those advices are exactly what my supervisor told me! Thanks you for making such a great content that can let me keep in mind. I guess I’ll watch this over and over again during my pm career to remind myself!

    硬币的一体两面,设计师和产品经理的关系真的是又紧张又刺激哈哈哈哈哈😂,重要的是互相理解,我们是一个团队,当有人给我们反馈时其实意味着对方真的在听!在思考,这么一想心里舒服多啦!

    How to overcome perfectionism as a product manager? We all want to make great products.

    • @alexiswogan1604
      @alexiswogan1604 3 года назад +7

      good question. 💕
      We absolutely want to make good products. We pour our hearts into the creation process and do our best to design and build experiences that solve real user problems.
      As Product Managers, we hold a very important position on the team and it is nearly natural to strive for perfection. My recommendation is to aim - not for the perfect release - but to lead a Perfect Team. Any team can be a Perfect Team. A Perfect Team is so dialed in they fly through the product development cycle and crack out banger release after banger release. A Perfect Team pushes itself to do better and they learn together. Leading a well oiled team is the hottest PM flex! You bring the problem statement and the goals and together, with a Perfect Team, you will design, build, and maintain good products. The Perfect Team is worth the sweat 😅.
