Getting mine 2010 GT I prepared myself for fuel costs but never did i know that I’d be shelling out $2 a litre 😭😭 still get around 320-350 km/tank driving in Lower mainland everyday. Will give a snow/wet mode a try. Thanks for the info as always!!
I usually drive in Sport mode, bad fuel mileage, when on highway or a trip I put in Drive , much better mpg, I always thought putting it in snow mode neutered the car, I guess I was right. My next highway trip I’ll try snow mode and see what happens. Thanks for the video. Come on spring!
Your comment about high performance car owners not focusing on gas mileage was legit. I certainly never thought about it while picking my car, it’s options, or doing modifications. Like you said though, who doesn’t appreciate a little savings ?! I’ve noticed in the 3 years I’ve had my GT premium PP1 with the 10R80 that I usually get 18-20 in town and 28-29 on the highway. I’m in a semi rural area and don’t really see bumper to bumper traffic, and I don’t daily drive my car, but I’m definitely going to try your trick when I’m not playing around. Fuel here is half the price y’all are seeing, but savings are still a good idea ! Interesting side note… my daily driver is a full-size SUV with 4x4 and V8 that gets 14 in town and only 17 on the highway. You’d think it would be MUCH more expensive to operate than the Stang, but operating on 87 versus 93, the costs are almost a wash ! The benefit is keeping the Stang mileage down and avoiding foul weather operations as well as the extra room :)
I'm lucky I work close to home and near the highway so not to much bumper to bumper traffic either. If it was any different I probably wouldn't daily it anymore seeing how fuel prices would be like a new car payment anyways lol
Way to think outside the box! My GT is a manual trans so all I notice in rain/snow mode is the de-tuned pedal response and extra wheel spin braking. Makes sense that on the automatic the shift points are lower. Never thought about it. 😁
Thanks for the video. How do I reset the driving modes. All modes are seem to be in “My Mode” option. I also notice I can’t go thru all the modes . Hence why I want to reset to factory reset. Thanks Frank
Great vid man! Fuel prices in our country are nuts! Great that we have that option on our commute to hit the snow/wet mode to just get where were going, and if we wanna let 'er rip we can change it up to Sport+ or Track mode. Mine's still in hibernation mode till spring time at the moment, but from what I'm hearing, the prices for fuel are only going to climb!! Thanks again for the upload Bro! Appreciate it!! Damn I miss driving my Pony! But there's 2 feet of snow on the ground and it's damn cold!!!!
@@CanadianCruisin YIKES!! Last I saw, it was 1.5 million for a cardboard box in BC! LOL! Ontario is pretty crazy too! My Daughter and son in law just sold their place for wayyyyyy over asking. Great if you sell, raped when you have to buy though! Cheers man!
Gr8 vid m8. I did observer the same on mine, which finally picked up at the end of november 2021. Wet/snow mode cuts rpm, I also saw that sometimes when I take off mildly, it starts from 1st gear and skips 2nd running on 3rd furthermore. To discover more power in w/s mode, I have to smack the throttle which comes easier in other modes. Let there be spring, eventually :)
I just got a 2018 GT with the 6-speed manual. She's definitely a thirsty girl, and I might have Snow/Wet mode but it seems this is probably more an auto tranny feature. I guess I'll have to dial myself back and shift a little sooner than I have been. It's so hard though, not letting the car have its head ;)
You have a tune on the car right? My 2018 A10 usually shifts from 1st to 3rd to 5th in normal mode. Now that it’s not my daily I only drive it in S mode when I do drive it (AE set to track of course :p)
Yes its tuned. It will still shift like yours but it takes a little more gas to do it. I was just trying to keep it as similar as I could for the test.
My 16 mustang shifts around 2100 rpm granted I have a different transmission and generally don't beat on the car I usually get 14.5 cruising from home to work which is like 1 miles apart if I do any highway driving it'll go around 21.5 or so
Snow/ rain mode is a nice feature on these cars. Question living in Canada in a snowy environment what type of tires do you have, and what brand do you like best?
@@CanadianCruisin Sweet, I live in the States in Maryland where the weather can turn wicked at the drop of a hat in the winter months with no warning. Good to know that they can perform. What's the wear like on them?
@@CanadianCruisin agreed. In my state gas is cheaper than up there. You guys pay way too much. My 2011 f150 gets about 14 mpg. My tank is 36 gallons. It's painful to top that off. And then the fact we burn about 9,000 gallons of diesel per year on the farm. That hurts the pocket book

Can't wait for spring. I don't think highway would be much different. It's more the stop and go that is tuned down so it saves a lot in the city

I was wondering how it worked for stick shift cars.
I have a 2019 Bullitt. I start out in normal mode. Then 5 minutes later I’m in my mode and I can watch the gas gauge go down😂

Haha. Always hard when it's got the power and sound like they do
If you are close to the otter co-op, you should do an e60 tune, see how it stacks up to full e85
I was thinking about it

Thats nuts, I pay 3.60 a gallon for 93 in texas
It's crazy. 93 just hit $2.05 per litre here last week
Man that's crazy high 😳..3.55 in central Texas for 93 octane
I cry a little with every fill lol
I'm tuned with Lund E85 and paying around $2.88/gallon for e85. 91 octane is around 3.80/gallon here in West Texas, permian basin area.
@@jjs070470 I need to move apparently lol
@@jjs070470 that great for E85 🔥
😯 Will this work for a 2021 GT 500?? Living in CA is brutal with gas prices!
Yeah you guys have the same prices as us down there. I'm sure it would help. It just stops the rpm from going up higher in the range for nothing
Ik we own "sports cars" and we're not supposed to care about gas prices but damn. My 2020 gt takes 65 bucks every week lmao
It hurts haha. 100 bucks won't even fill mine anymore
Try e85 .
65? Mines 50 everyday lmaoooo
Good explanation 👍
Thank you 😊

My winter set are nexen winguard sport 2 tires. They're cheap and work great. Never been stuck once even on the ice with them.

Hold up, bouncing off the rev limiter every shift isn't helping my gas mileage? Lame!

Snow/wet lowers the RPMs too keep from spinning out. Too bad I like to drive a lil angry.
