You have to take your hat off to Fran. She hasnt written a book in 30 years, has no day job or visible means of support and nearly beat out Jimmy Fallon in a bidding war for an apt but otherwise blithely waltzes her way through life in NY--an icon of the city
s She has toured relentlessly over the years making personal appearances, Q & A's etc at paid events. The Netflix series really boosted her profile. And she has toured off of that currently.

I'm a conservative, but I've always been a fan of her columns back when I was a teenager, and if I knew she was going to appear on the late night talk shows like Letterman, I would always stay up late to watch her interviews. She's both cantankerous and genuinely funny.
