Brave guy considering that he is vision impaired. For someone like him to travel AND start a new life in a foreign land is just amazing. Thanks Chad for this inspiring interview.
Yeah so true, definitely inspiring! His impairment is much greater than people realize too because he functions so highly and he rolls with things so well.
My parents never treated me like a victim or told me there was things I could not do. Because of my skin color or disabilty. I didn't know I was actually blind until my 20s
Not only did you Not make the 'obvious' the focus, you didn't even mention it. BOOM... that was a sick ending dude! Very Clever, great story telling. Props! Peace and Love, B Goat
thanks for your appreciation of the video, I talked about this video approach with Miguel and we were on the same page because him being blind does not define who he is as a person and his story on its own is relatable to so many people. The fact that he has done all of this as a person who happens to be blind is definitely an inspiration and that's what we were hoping for, to inspire people to go after their dreams and make things happen!
Great interview Chad! I could have really used his story about his vision impermanent since i just found out i was losing mine. And it has me rethinking my dream of moving there.
Hey there thanks for watching and thanks for sharing your own situation with that, all I can say is Miguel is loving it here and his life has changed for the better since coming despite being blind. He found an incredible girl and has a great set up in Davao city. Good luck with whatever you decide to do and thanks again.
That's what it is you got to take a leap of faith you got to take chances it sounds like my story just sitting here in the United States watching TV every night alone not dating very much no adventure anymore need to step out of my comfort zone and get to the the Philippines
That's great to hear! Miguel and I both want to do our part with inspiring people and spreading positive vibes, life is short gotta make things happen sometimes it's right there for the taking!
Coming for a vacation. Spend a month 90 days 6 months if you can you find out if you like it or hate it. I think worst case scenario you'll find a really nice girl. If you're looking. Either way, it'll change your life because if you decide you don't like the Philippines, there's other places to go like Kuala Lumpur, Ecuador, Colombia, Romania. It's a lot of good places out there. Cheap Philippines for me was somewhere I always wanted to go and had the English factor also and the easiest immigration
yeah he's a great guy, inspiring for sure and so much more to his story that I'll get to in future videos. He also wants to inspire people and motivate people to take chances and go after their dreams
I was married to an American I thought love and caring but he just wants an indentured servant. Thanks for sharing Chad, God bless you and always be safe 🙏🏻👍😊👩🌾
Hello chad. I am very much appreciated your concern esp the senior age people who love to stay permanently for their retiring .. Go bless you chad and take care
Hey brother, I’m really glad that I found your channel… I actually watched a few of your videos before I subscribed after I saw you on Paul channel I thought man me and this guy have a lot in common… What Miguel said really hit me “you miss 100% of the shots you don’t take”.
I have a paid off house w land in East Tennessee, I could live comfortably on $1500 a month when I retire. But I can’t date a cute 25 year old in Tennessee unless she’s on pills or meth, and I’m paying her rent for her. So I’m planning on the Philippines in 5 years.
Why all you older guys focus so much on young girls still. If you're over 50 good luck getting a 25 year old here who won't steal all your money. You'll also have to pay for her lazy brother, her other family members, and so on. Just find a Filipina your age and you'll be better in long run.
Also, no generators air condition taxis or lap pools. I did think about the province though. I just need a whole lot of infrastructure. Oh yeah, kind of hard to find a golf course too well 👨🦯😂🤪
Just my advice: Living in the Philippines or any of your host country, is by not comparing where you came from. You have to assimilate, open open-minded and accept the environment.
Yes true I am from Phil, as well but I went home for vacay last Aug I was walking on the side street and didn’t realize that there was a big hole left by a truck and I slipped and hurt myself badly. Very dangerous holes all over the place. I been here in North America for a good four decades. And hard to get used to the dangers of the street back home.
The caring is inherited and experienced cause kids in the Philippines are started to look after thier parents and grandparents so they apply on thier partner that is a big culture shock deferent from the rest of the world parents are sent to care homes sad
What the EXPAT SHOULD DO IS TO LOBBY IN CONGRESS THAT THE U.S. HEALTHcare INSURANCE CAN BE RECOGNIZED OR ACCEPTED IN THE PHILIPPINE.... THEY WILL ALL MOVE HERE IN THE PHILIPPINES.🤣🤣🤣🤣 Or maybe, even reimbursement will help them a lot. Philippines hospitals, doctors, medicines as well as testing are waaaaaay cheaper than in the United States. The U.S. will save a lot of money.
great interview Chad. Miguel stated he wanted to help his kids out.. what is his source of income while living in the phil? how many kids he have and ages? how old is chad. he seems like a great guy.good interview. good luck miguel im pulling for u

Were from PHX and believe me, the last thing you want to do is take a bus there. They take too long to get there and the heat outside is a blistering 110 degrees in the Summer, in 5 min being outside you will be sweating like in buckets!! LOL
yeah he is but it's not something that Miguel thinks about he just goes about his life like anyone else and is passionate about many different things, he's an awesome dude and very inspiring
You saved the very best for last; we had no idea he was blind during this interview. So if a blind guy can make his way around there... what is my problem?
That’s what you call “ there is more freedom in the Philippines “ . In the US, there are lots of rules and regulations. For example, you need a fishing license in order to fish in the US, but in the Philippines none.
yeah he is 95% blind and the 5% is as if he's looking through two straws with wax paper on the ends, but he goes about life just like anyone else, is passionate about many things and he's very active, awesome dude
Did you meet someone on line that you meet at the airport? So what did you do after you landed at the airport? Did you know where to stay? Ok, lets start with landing at the airport. Do you just taxi around looking for hotels? Or do you try to select one ahead of time on the internet? I'm looking at Holiday Spa in Cebu, 3 star, $15 for a room with no view and rooms go up to 20, 25 & $30 a day. This would give me time to look at selected condos, Avalon 18k to 30k a month, Ayala 13.5 k a month. Thanks for the response
I definitely wouldn't tax you around looking for a place. So far, the only place I've actually stayed in Cebu is the Savoy hotel, which I absolutely loved and recommended. Highly the quest hotel is near Ayala Mall and supposed to be really nice but every time I've booked a room there I've ended up prepaid for it and not staying lol
I wouldn't ask you to tax me around. I'm thinking Filipina's do that kinda thing. I'll have to work on find a Filipina or some Filipino service that does that kinda thing.
@@MS-oz2wu old dog just did a video. There is a service in Cebu. They'll put you together with a tour guide a Filipina to show you around the city. Tell you what to do not to do. I wish they had had it when I first came. I think it's through JRZ. Check out old dog, new tricks, Paul and the Philippines. Do you know his channel?
Grass Is Greener now.. You will find out later. I spent 6 straight in Makati City as an American XPAT. At first I like it but later became garbage the whole Country.
I guess you can. If you have money to throw it problems, you will do a lot. Better planning. At least as far as saving yourself some money. I would recommend hiring a maid right away or a tour guide. Make sure you don't pay too much. Going rate for made is about 300 paces a day or 6,000 pesos a month if they are living 8,000. If they are live out make sure they have police clearance and ID proven there. 18. I try not to be around any married women due to laws in the Philippines, especially as a foreigner unless there are chaperones
I have light perception. Can see some movement and contrast and I can see a little bit of detail on TVs, monitors and phones with high quality screens out of about 5% of my central vision, everything else is totally black
I've lived in both the Philippines and Thailand. Thailand has a nicer lifestyle and is actually cheaper. The long term serious dating scene is not as good as in the Philippines though.
@katyagrad3704 First, I make way more than $45K and own a residence at BGC. 2nd, people who elected to party and have fun early in life instead of developing their skill sets are those now earning low wages later in life. I don’t blame them for electing to move to countries like the Philippines, enabling them to stretch their hard earned dollars. I'm just pointing out the medical aspect that most fail to include as part of their calculations since illnesses show up later in life. In the end, they'll become a problem the way illegal immigrants are a burden to taxpayers in the US.
@katyagrad3704 BTW, the HealthCare Act known as the ObamaCare allows low income people to have healthcare. So they're not in deep doo doo. In blue (democratic party) controlled states like California and Washington, even illegals are afforded access to medical care.
Thanks for watching!
