About Sierra and Stephen IRL
Hey friends! I’m Sierra Schultzzie and this is my vlog channel with my husband, Stephen. We started vlogging 5 years ago to document planning our wedding and growing together as a young married couple, and the channel has now really become our passion project. We love creating travel vlogs, disneyland vlogs, showing behind the scenes of creating my fashion and lifestyle videos, and all the little ups and downs of our unfiltered, real life. We loved documenting our journey trying to concieve and getting pregnant, are now so happy to be sharing our experience as first time parents to our daughter, Grace.

As a speech-language pathologist, you have done a phenomenal job with Grace’s language exposure and her foundational communication skills! Her signing is so cute!!
SLP grad student here and I love coming here and seeing Sierra and Grace doing so well with communication and language 🥰
Another second year SLP grad student here and I fully agree!! Amazing job Sierra and Stephen!
@@juliahumphreys2347 😮😮😅😅😅😮😅😅😊😅
I notice your mom skills every time I see you with Grace, you seriously are nailing this. Not only is Grace very capable, but you are too!!
Didn’t expect Sierra telling Grace she’s so capable to make me tear up, but here I am
Omg same 🥹🫠
Me too😭 she’s always giving her the sweetest affirmations!
Me too! I have 3 daughters and this is such a beautiful thing to say!
I love hearing your reflections on motherhood. Your “built for this” comment felt so spot on! I loved the toddler stages and beyond too. Being able to communicate and collaborate with your child is so incredible. Being able to witness them develop their own personality and opinions (and actually express it) is such a gift.
Grace signing more for the tigers killed me. 🥹
SAME 😭😭😭
I 100% feel "built" for toddlers too! I've worked in child care for over 10 years with every age group and I've got a 2.5yo of my own. My coworkers think I'm crazy but I would much rather work in the toddler room than the infant or preschool room. Toddlers are the best, but us toddler people are a rare breed!
seeing grace walk with such confidence has brought tears to my eyes
The way you talk about motherhood makes me weepy in the best way ❤️ I don't have kiddos, but the love you have for your girl is so rich and overflowing.
I love watching Grace grow and learn. She is so cute and smart. I love how well she communicates. I have 2 kids. My son is 8 years old but didn't start talking until he was 3.5. Which was after he was diagnosed with Level 3 Severe Autism. He does talk and communicate now. So, it was such a treat when my daughter was born shortly after my son's diagnose. Having a sibling really has helped my son. Thank you so much for sharing your parenthood journey with us. I look forward to seeing Grace in your vlogs and you talking about your experience as a mother. Thank you Sierra for being you!!!!!
spending the entire day with grace and saying screw it to the vanity was the best call
It’s so cool seeing Grace sign! I’m fluent in ASL because my brother is deaf. My sister has a 6 month old, and I can’t wait until he starts signing back to us!
Completely agree with every new stage being more fun than the last one! I’ve loved every stage my son’s gone through, but yet it just keeps getting better! My son is 2,5 now and now I get to have full conversations with him, he can tell me what he’s thinking of, tell me about his day, talk about how he feels and what he wants. It’s beautiful and so much fun and I try to treasure every second of it! ❤
Sierra, you are such a thoughtful and intentional mom. It makes my heart so happy. Grace is thriving from your parenting!
One thing about Grace… she never misses a splash pad moment.!
Sierra, I just want to say how much I love watching you and your little family grow. I can’t begin to describe the amount of aspiration I have to be the mom to my future child that you are to grace. It’s so beautiful to watch the way you interact with her. You are so loving and gentle and patient with her ! Again, it’s just amazing to watch you literally do anything. Thank you for sharing your life with us. I hope you know how much I value you as a person/mom. (Not that you need it!) but it’s just all so unbelievably inspirational and wholesome. I didn’t realize how much I needed your vlogs until I caught myself waiting for a new one each day. The amount of growth you’ve had from when you first started vlogging until now has been so rewarding, as a viewer, to see. Your family is lucky to have you. And we are lucky to have your vlogs! I just wanted to tell you what it means to me as a viewer, you touch more people thank you even know. Your kindness is definitely infectious. I love your videos Sierra! ❤
My sentiments exactly🥺
Preach!
You are so capable 😭 The way you're raising Grace is so amazing.
Grace is gonna be that perfect child that will make you want another and the next will be a whirlwind 😂
Sierra & Grace's relationship is so cute and gives me so much hope for being a mommy one day. As I too had 2 miscarriages and now TTCing for my rainbow baby!
I’ve missed the last couple videos because of a crazy schedule, but when Grace signed for help I almost cried. I’m learning ASL for my friend and this is the coolest thing I’ve seen today by far.
You are such a lovely person, and so is your daughter.
Oh my gosh! Grace is too cute in her little zoo keeper shirt 😊
Thankyou so much for making Thease vlogs they give me somthing to look forward to even in hard times, ❤❤❤
The fact that you guys are teaching her some ASL really helps her express what she wants and makes communication so much easier at this age! I’ve loved teaching my babies signs too. 🤗💕
i loveee that you’re teaching grace to sign! she is such a smart little girl 😊
The toddler stage has always been my favorite stage, because it’s so fun to watch them learn and develop their own personalities.
You are incredible with Grace and her learning. You are doing a phenomenal job and it’s exciting to see her grow and develop
I’m very curious how you guys went about teaching grace sign language. I don’t have children yet but it has always been something I want to implement when I do. Ultimately curious about your whole experience!
Love watching you guys so much❤
My son is 2. About month 4 after his birthday he flipped from being baby-like to more of a toddler/kid. I cried for a full month knowing my "baby" was forever gone. And just recently 4 months before his 3rd birthday he had a major leap. He has conversations, a sense of humor.... So-so many things. I'm so happy you're enjoying her stages. My point to all this is it just keeps getting fun. Each stage is special. Each stage has it's place in my heart. I can't wait to see you go through everything with Grace. So much fun!! ❤
That Big Cat did that stroll just for Grace...
TOTALLY AWESOME... Connected
I love seeing Grace exploring! She’s a few months older than my nephew and she makes me so excited for him to reach that age soon💜
So thankful for what you said about things to look forward to with newborns! I thought I would love the newborn stage the most but I find myself getting so excited for my son to become more interactive and communicative! 🥰
I so so so love the way you talk to your daughter.
The two of you sharing lunch is the cutest thing I’ve ever seen
I love platypuses! Also capybaras. Those sweet giant cavies have my heart!
Would LOVE an in depth skincare tour! Like the masks you like, things you use here and there, new stuff you’re trying etc! Your skin is always SO radiant! Also I’m not a mom but toddlers are SO FUN to babysit/nanny etc bc being able to reason/talk to them is EVERYTHING! Also they’re hilarious
Omg that is so encouraging!!
I have a 5 month old
I am so excited to see my daughter when she is this age.
I’m 18 weeks pregnant and your vlogs are getting me so excited for the future and all the fun we’re going to get to have with our little one! ❤
Oh my goodness congratulations! You have so much to look forward to 💗
I love watching the vlogs. My daughter is quite a few months younger than Grace is, she’s turning 1 next month. I can’t wait until she’s at that same stage. The fun of going to parks, walking, and get understanding more.
my favorite thing is when be real goes off when i'm doing something cool
I gave birth to my son three days before Grace was born. I was not a fan of the newborn stage as I had PPD. Watching my son play and interact with the world now is definitely more fun for me but he has the opposite temperament that Grace has. Just letting other people know that the toddler stage is fun but also hard if your babies’ temperament is not as chill and content as Grace. 😂 She’s adorable though and wishing your family all the best. ❤
I have a 7 week old and it’s a really challenging mindset and I’m so excited for this stage. I’m trying to savor it but I can’t wait until shes walking and communicating more.
So happy to be here! Your vlogs always feel like I'm catching up with a friend! xo
Thank you for sharing your life with us ❤ I really really enjoy all of your vlogs. I don’t even look at the thumbnail or title, I just click the video and start watching 🙂
Lmao love you showing the old covid test… I found some in my bedroom too 😬😬😬
Our babes are so close in age and it has been so great to parent simultaneously with you if that makes sense. I feel like I learn a lot from seeing the interactions of you and Grace that help me with my LO
I’m not a mom. But maybe one day. Well anyways, I’m happy that you decided to share your journey being a parent. It’s really fun to see you and grace just hanging out and loving your life. But I also love watching you have drinks with your girls friends on the podcast 😂
I'm so glad you mentioned that you wlfelt that you were "built for the age that your daughter is at now". Coz I read something about how sometines parents are "better at parenting" at different stages than other parents. Like others are better at new born stage, others at toddler stage, others at child stage other at teenage, etc. Doesn't mean you're not a good parent at all stages, juts that your strength is ta a particular stage that another parent. Hope I make sense.
Not sure if you go to the SD Zoo in Balboa park but they recently did some renovations with an amazing new playground area :)
Like #62!! Thank you for posting another video Sierra🥺❤️ it really made my day when I saw that notification cause I'm going through a really bad situation currently.... I love you and thank you for easing my mind all the time!!❤️
Love your videos Sierra! I'm also a new mom, my daughter and I love to watch your videos together. ❤❤❤❤
Wondering if you could share what over the ear headphones you were wearing during your vanity cleaning Timelapse? They were really cute! And do you recommend? Thanks!
Ok I need to know where you got the rotating display for your bathroom!!
Would love an updated skin care routine video!! I saw you went to the Brooklyn and Bailey ITK party and would love to know which products u recommend since its an affordable brand
I’ve had such an overwhelming day already and seeing the notification you posted instantly brought a smile to my face. 💕🤗
this video is how I found out that BeReal is an actual thing and not just an SNL joke lmao
Great to watch Grace explore. Where is the rotating organizer from?
the old covid test, lolo relatable. thanks for sharing what you do in vlogs
I've heard that some babies stop eating greens around two it would be interesting to know if Grace does this if you don't mind me asking.
This looks like it was such a fun day!
I had to fly all the way to Australia to see a platypus!! You are so lucky
Grace is gonna grow pretty fast and she’s the cutest
ma’am can you please link the rotating organizer?! 👀 i’m obsessed. love your videos 🖤🖤
Ooo do you have a link to your rotating organizer on the same bathroom vanity as the skin care fridge? Love it! 💞
Sierra did the Paula’s choice retinol give you bad acne or skin irritation?? I’ve been wanting to start retinol but I’ve heard of that as a side effect
My son I had a blast at that splash pad! 🙌🏼
I need to know where you got the rotating wooden organizer please!!
We love that you’re exposing Grace to animals!!
Hey! Have you done a video on baby signing? Currently TTC and would love to do that with my future baby
!!!!!! Thank you
Love your family vlog
Totally get what your saying at the end... I feel each age has its pros (and cons)! Speaking from a mom that has a 4 and 7 year old!!! Days I miss the infant, baby, toddler age but enjoying no more diapers!
I how you are with gracing. Could you please do a parenting style video where you discuss all the techniques you are using. You are doing such a great job and would love to know more
Newborn and toddler stage was not for me. My son is four now and I love it. You can have full conversations and really reason with him but he is still so cute and wants to be loved and cuddled. 💞 So imo it is even getting better after toddler stage 😍
You live in such a cool place! We live out by the outerbanks of nc and have the pirate/water/beaches but it would be awesome to have zoosk and amusement parks so close
Yes, it Always made me sad to think of my baby growing. Now she is 16and I assure u that ever year has been a joy. There is always new things for your child to experience. Every year has shown me that our babies are always our babies and we can always treasure their growth. Enjoy!
When you say the Fabletics dress is just as functionable as bike shorts and a T-shirt is it still functionable when you’re using the bathroom in public? That tends to be the biggest challenge I have come across with that style of dress. It’s super cute tho!!!!
But where can I get the spinning skincare organizer?
A content creator I follow shared that her mom always said that her favorite age with her daughter was always her current age because at every stage their relationship grew stronger
My mom used to say it was “a hair past freckle” when she forgot she wasn’t wearing her watch 😄
Thanks for the distraction Sierra!! I just got a vvvfl on a test yesterday and a slightly darker than yesterday vvvfl on another test today. I am waiting for tomorrow to confirm with a digital test. I literally don’t know how to even live with this information so I am just procrastinating with RUclips vids. I am almost 30 and financially stable so it’s a good a time as any (is there ever a “right” time?). My husband refuses to believe the faint lines but he’s probably more excited than me. 😂
Yayyyy so excited for another vlog!
She seems like a wonderful baby! I have a 19 month old and he’s amazing although there are difficult days. I wonder if she omits those days on purpose and if so, why? or if she really has a good toddler as shown?
Grace has a pretty chill temperament in general, but she does have hard moments! I would never film those vulnerable moments though out of respect for Grace. What I show of her on my channel is very curated.
I went to the San Diego zoo back in ‘89, wow so much nicer now
Well that made my day!
I love this vlog channel
Cosmetologist student here - pre wet your hair either with plain water like from your shower or a leave in conditioner and your hair will be protected from the salt water. It’ll close your hair cuticle so none of the salt will be able to get in and your hair won’t be harmed from the water!
I wish I could like this twice!!
Now I understand the animals in „Madagascar“ for wanting to move San Diego Zoo.
1st time mom here, i am that mom that is on routines and schedules. so we dont do much outings. how did you put grace down for nap in the stroller. do you have to like bounce her, hold her, rock her. or is she just the sleepy that she falls asleep on her own???
Anybody know if she ever mentioned where the bamboo lazy Susan that is in her bathroom is from?
17:02 platypodes!
my mom has told me she loved me and my brother at the toddler stage but she enjoys us even more now (I’m 20, he’s 18) cos she can go out with us in a more adult way, me and her do our nails together etc
I am not sure if you addressed this, but can I ask why you are teaching her sign?
Lucky girlie🐯
Yay
I always have mixed feelings about wanting to go to a zoo
As a mom of a 4 year old I miss both of thoes stages the new born and the new toddler stage 😢 so as a fellow mom all I can say is soak it up it goes by way too fast
🎉
sierra PLEASE drop that PoGo friend code!! i’ll send you gifts from Michigan!
Does grace know s Sign language
hey, just so youre aware, the tiger kept walking in circles because its stressed and unhappy in captivity because the habitat is unfit for a tiger's lifestyle. you said he came by 3 times and thats because walking on the barriers of the enclosure is a direct response to needing more space, this tiger is being abused. I would not continue to support this zoo.
Hi! I totally understand your concern, and I have shared a lot of the same concerns with the ethical issue of animals in captivity. I have a really high standard for Zoos I choose to support and San Diego is one of only a few I feel comfortable going to, after a lot of research.
The San Diego Zoo & Safari Park is a non profit, AZA accredited zoo that is one of the top rated in the world for conservation, animal care, research, and breeding, among other things. All the animals housed here were either rescues, or bread in captivity for conservation and research. They’ve actually been able to bring a few species back from the brink of extinction which I think is especially cool. While I don’t know the specifics of this tiger, I do trust the San Diego Zoo and have chosen to support them due to all the good and important work they do, and the importance of connecting Grace to wildlife. In the 45 minutes that we were observing the tiger, he came by us a few times but it was sporadic so we didn’t see him pacing or circling at all. We had to wait a long time for him to come back.
This is still such a personal choice and I understand that not everyone is comfortable with it. Respect for whatever you choose to do!
@@SierraStephenIRL Your points are very valid and I can now see why supporting this zoo isn't problematic! I'm a zoology student and I can say for certain this tiger is stressed out (walking in circles, panting), but based on what you said I don't think its due to inadequate care, I believe its stressed just generally because it is in captivity, but there's no solution to that stress. its impossible to create an enclosure up to the standards of what this wild animal would need and obviously it is a rescue animal and it needs to remain in captivity. anyways, thanks for educating me on the ethics of the safari park
Just for your reference, majority of animals in most zoos ARE captive bred or rescued and cannot be released into the wild. It’s sad that they can’t be in their natural habitats either way though.
@@livelongandprospermary8796 The questioning of ethics of zoos has more to do with adequate care and breeding and less about the fact that there are a number of animals that cannot be released. We need sanctuaries, not only for rescued wild animals of people who thought owning a wild animal would be okay, but also for the native species that need to be rehabilitated or bred in order to help with their population. If the animal is bred by the zoo or purchased by the zoo by a breeder for the purposes of displaying it, that is not ethical. Care also matters, an animal needs a minimum amount of square footage to be healthy. There are plenty of animals in captivity that cant return to the wild but the important thing is that they find a rescue with suitable living conditions.
You didn't go on a monologue... You went on a MOMologue
