    Beautiful hike. Strouds Run is where I often camped when I was a child, forty or so years ago. Thanks for taking me back.

      @@JourneyontheTrail I remember camping there during a cicada year, in the early 80’s. Must have been a different 'brood' than this year's, because the time frames don't match up. But the sound was enormous, and the ground of Strouds just absolutely crawled with cicadas. I wonder if they're coming out right now, in Athens County?

      @@ma-mo from what I've heard they won't make it that far this time. They are in the DC area.

    Thank you so much for this! I've been trying to research the trail system so I can figure out where to park to take shorter hikes with my dogs. The park office wasn't much help. This is so beneficial for getting the lay of the land!

      @@JourneyontheTrail I can share a lot, more than I can type here, but I will say this. I visited the cemetery just a week ago, and myself and other family members have a plan to revitalize the site, out of our own pockets.

    Such a pretty area! The lake was breathtaking. The kitty was sure cute, was there a house close by. She was way too white to live in the woods. Great video!

    Taking me back. Been a long time since I’ve been on that section, maybe 7 years? I remember discovering that camp site for the first time and the little cave, so neat. There are some caches hidden around that area.
    So was that just under 10 miles normal hiking or was that your new vlogging miles having to double back for your camera? :) great video

    • @JourneyontheTrail
      @JourneyontheTrail  3 года назад +1

      I'd been hiking there for years before I found that campsite... Not sure exactly when they built it though.
      LoL...I thought about that mileage after posting. I went back at the very similar hike I did there in 2018 and it was 9.7 miles so looks like my back and forth added somewhere around a quarter mile.
      Thanks for watching and commenting man... Really appreciate it!
