Early 90's (1990 to 1999) when the 8's came out. They were truly stunning cars. I recall an "840i" with the V8 parking next to us one evening and my uncle (RIP), my dad (RIP) and myself spent the next 10 to 15 minutes looking over it to the owners obvious enjoyment of owning such a stunningly gorgeous looking car. And your 850i with just 80,000 miles!!?? That's only just run in that V12 :-))... Less than 2,700 miles per year!!
The interior on this is like peak 90s BMW, buttons for everything! And the seats are really handsome with the light leather. Black interiors on these feel really claustrophobic, you need a bit of lightness.
My 1997 840Ci Sport 4.4 V8 has been my daily driver for nearly 8 years now and has never given me any trouble, just loads of pleasure. It also sounds much better than the V12 and is just as quick. Buy a good one, look after it and you will be impressed...

Funnyly I’ve never driven or sat in one but I know why it caught my attention. 1996/97 uni years a girl I had a crush on was dating a chap who had a black 850i which killed my moves so I’ve never forgotten that. I’d buy it in a heartbeat off you if I could mate.
I fell in love with these in 1991 when my wife and I went to Europe. In Luxembourg I spotted my first one and promptly fell in love with the look. Now I can almost afford to buy one, but I’m not sure about maintaining one though.
