I love the fast words. It's like scat singing. Dimash gives us everything in this - rock, jazz, opera, gospel. This is iconic.

I am not a native English speaker and it is difficult for me to be objective in assessing lyrics in another language, but translated into Russian these lyrics sound great and are quite appropriate in relation to the concept of the video. Recitative patter in English is a real challenge for the Kazakh singer, and he copes with this challenge perfectly for my ears

I’ll acknowledge that the lyrics may be a tad predictable, but I don’t agree that there were too many words nor that it needed to “flow” more. Dimash had exactly what he wanted and what we needed lyrically. This video has a darker texture but - in terms of tone - it brought back to me the shock value from January 2021 when Be With Me premiered during Dimash’s Digital Concert. A lot of fun and just wow! Cheers from Canada!

Lol you're funny! Dimash is probably the most intelligent singer to grace the stage in our time do you think he'd waste time on composing something that won't hold up under his peers and mentors scrutiny? Bram Stoker's Count Dracula is a classic so ofc the lyrics will have to be predictable. I think he nailed the arrangement and that fast mellisma in the chorus for a singer who gets by with English. Even English speakers would find that tongue twister difficult. I tried singing it and it's hard! I wouldn't change a thing with this piece of modern art. Absolute genius❤❤ ❤

Of course it's not easy to sing that part and I didn't find his pronunciation to be the issue there at all. Evident from my reaction, I loved this entire piece, it's only the "wordy" part that seem too scrambled together, and I don't mean that in the relation to the meaning of it because the meaning is clear. I am talking about simple fluidity which was not satisfying FOR ME. And that's like a negligible "issue" anyway :D

A new trailer for his next song dropped today. It's only 18 seconds, but definitely is eye catching.
I like the simple lyrics, its easy to remember and sing along with. Of course the word run after the Angel lyrics are a bit impossible, but Dimash manages it pretty well.
I've already heard this live (there are fancam footage from Hong Kong), and other than the guitar solo (there was none) it sounded just as good.

Yeah the flow of lyrics in that one part is classic
    Soulful scat!
    scat
    /skat/
    noun
    1.
improvised jazz singing in which the voice is used in imitation of an instrument:
    "a scat rendition"
    verb
    1.
sing using the voice in imitation of an instrument:
    "she scats and harmonizes simultaneously"

Dimash does scat in many of his songs, just not this one. The fast part is just fast singing, akin to rap maybe but not jazz scatting. If you read what you put from Google, it clearly states sounds not lyrics ❤

Dimash has lots of pop, rock, rap, blues, jazz etc. Lots more than just operatic or classical. You need to expand you Dimash listening 😅❤ if you notice she arrived with a tape recorcer, she is a reporter not a medium and he is a vampire, not a ghost. The backing vocals are Dimash, he likes to do his own layering and backing vocals quite often. The nails, his look, the outfit, her interviewing him are all nods to classic vampire movies of the past. Some lyrics ars nods to old blues songs. The opening operatic aria from Lakme, and the arms of his vampire wives are nods to the Hindu goddess of death and wealth Lakshmi, Dimash the vampire is undead and wealthy. There are lots of easter eggs added throughout the video. Medusa head, a crusaders helmet, the colour of the lights, the mirror without his reflection. So many things to look out for. Dimash always puts so much thought and meaning in all his music videos. He likes to keep us Dears on our toes ❤

The vocal run that he does where you thought there were too many words and you didn't care for seems to be most everyone else's favorite part of the song. To a person every one of the many reactors I've watched so far seem to flag this as their favorite part of the song, along with his deep growl, regardless of that reactor's personal genre bias. His note rundown during that lyric line is phenomenal.

    • @fashionblank
      @fashionblank  6 месяцев назад

The run is good, I just found so many words, despite it's stylistic approach, unnecessary and disruptive. As I said, it's in no way a very bad remark, it's just for me less satisfying.

  • @BlaidDrwg359
    @BlaidDrwg359 6 месяцев назад +1

I think personally this is the best I've heard from Dimash! Accent is from a Transylvanian view, so it fits the "not of the Mortal plane" part of his character. Lyrically, the song is simple, but vocally quite challenging if you include the phrasing on the runs, the breathy parts leading into a full belt chorus and then that bass growl in the "I'm just a MAN, living in a MAN'S world."
All in all, it's a short story meant for the wide screen, much like Michael Jackson's "Thriller". ( I would love to have seen what MJ and Dimash would have collaborated on were MJ still alive!

    Dimash is a genius!
A great storyteller and paradigm breaker!
Anyone who watched the video, made by a fan with his cell phone, of Dimash's show in Hong Kong, had the pleasure of a first contact with the song “When I've Got You” and realized, in Dimash's own music and in the lyrics by Candice Kelly and Dmytro Gordon, a romantic, seductive and passionate song sung with Dimash's own virtuosity. There was tension and anxiety in being able to watch the studio version with better sound quality...
Now, with the release of this music video, we realize how creative Dimash is:
A suspense video with a “noir” atmosphere, but without being located in the past, and a tale of passion about a supernatural creature who feels alone and needs to fulfill his passion for a mortal woman who suffers for wanting and not wanting turn her into one of his supernatural creatures.
Iskander Yerbolat's plot intrigues us to solve the mystery of the entire tale being a dream of a journalist who interviews “DQ”, or being a reality where the “vampire” did not bite his “prey” out of love! Intriguing...
The video is a show in itself: Desaturated with vivid red details (umbrella, blood in the hands, blood in the pool, advertising sign, neon on the mirror...), a classic Rolls Royce, a gloomy and modern mansion and lots of details.
As background music, he uses the work “Flower Duet” (Lakimé) by Léo Delibes. To create an old and suspenseful atmosphere, he does not use the 1968 edition and recording, by Joan Sutherland and Jane Berbié, but rather the original version from 1915, sung by Alexandrovna Mikhailova and Ivanovna Panina, recorded with a gramophone!
The music video is a story that pays homage to several classic dramas involving supernatural creatures and passion! The impeccable editing with precise cuts that complete the script, simple and extremely efficient effects and masterful performances: Dimash (the seductive and tormented vampire, Polina Guzieva (the passionate journalist), Manuel de Jesús Sánchez Sotolongo (the sinister butler) and the harem of soulless vampires (Angelin Sapozhnikova, Valeriya Lyasheva, Andreana Tkachenko, Maria Aristatarkhova, Lilia Kiser and Klinnyushina Alina), superb!
The music is a show in itself: a mix of Blue, Scat, Jazz, R&B, Rock... Captivating variations: a bridge to the chorus full of strength and seduction and a beautiful chorus inspired by classic rock and dexterity and Dimash's agility! In addition to the well-placed guitar solo performed by Abik Jeksen!
The video captures and captivates from the beginning to the sign, which we let pass while still mesmerized by the “spell” of the vampire who can break the fourth wall!
A giant, masterful, modern work that makes you want to watch it several times!
    1000 out of 10!
    Hugs from a Brazilian!
