Someone once told me this: “Your pilot is the one true totally dedicated professional. If you have a legal problem that goes badly, your lawyer will express sympathy & work hard. But if you go to prison, he’s not going there with you. If you get deathly ill, your doctor will do all he can. However, if things are really dire, the most he can do is go to your funeral. But the pilot? If things go badly wrong in the air, he’s right there with you to the bitter end. Your fate and his are inextricably intertwined, perhaps fatally so. There’s no other professional who’s more dedicated to your well-being!”
Great video! It's time to finish this. Many of us came here as our career goal and planned to stay for the longterm but now we are looking into other carriers to support ourselves and our families. Experienced crewmembers are key to a safe operation. Those pilots then pass it along to the next generation to help make them safe pilots. Here's hoping that this is our year.
For clarity, I believe it is a 6-year contract with company options to extend another 3 years but provisions to benefit the membership if the company opts to extend. Agreed to during interim bargaining, not Section 6 negotiations (i.e. previous contract was not yet expired when these time frames were agreed to). It probably made sense at the time given that it was before the recent large pay increases at the major airlines
Wow!! everytime we come out with a new vid it makes me remember why I came here and why I want to stay but it becomes harder and harder each day with the level of disrespect the company shows us. 22 years on property, top 1/3 of list and 55 years old and I'm filling out apps!! Silly
This is the 4th time the union has entered interim bargaining with NJ before the contract expired. This is nothing new. The mantra was that we’d always revisit things every few years and never be in full contact negotiations again. However, they’ve now decided to switch gears and ask for concessions during a true pilot shortage when everyone else is getting huge increases. How do they expect to make that work into the future??

I am not a pilot yet but I am part of a Union. Who in their right mind signs a 10 year contract?? I understand netjets has to do better on their end. However, the union has to have some more sense and foresight next contract negotiation.
Younger pilots and low seniority pilots should be leaving instead of complaining while pilot hiring is hot elsewhere. Longer you wait to leave for greener pastures the lower your new seniority number will be at the next company.
Fifty years in aviation. Military, 35 at American and now 135. My experience tells me that ownership doesn’t care, will not care and you need to move on. This video will not sway them. If they can “get by,”:with these wages , they will. They roll the numbers and if it tells them that a 60 yo can be replaced with a 25 yo, they will. Pax don’t care. Everyone is an individual contractor, look after yourself and family. Well procured video. Stay away from Contour, they are a bottom feeder. Left after two months…
You were at American for 35 years? Then surely you understand better than most how these things go. You've been through some fights there, yes? I doubt the passengers really cared at all about your wages and working conditions. Did you quit the fight and just move on? It's clear airline management has always just "gotten by" with lower wages and working conditions. Until they couldn't. I'm confused why you believe we shouldn't bother with the fight here? And go where? The airlines? And if we do, what should our attitudes be when the fight comes around at the airlines again, because it always does.
Is there a contract in place? These actions by the pilots should be considered a federal violation. Even the videos I've seen are urging me to take action! A judge should impose fines on both the Union and the pilots. It doesn't take long when waiting at the FBOs to overhear pilots discussing the actions they're taking to harm the company. I'm certain the company has metrics to track these occurrences. Warren Buffet should remind them of their obligations in this regard.
We are all doing everything by the book and legal. Making our concerns and grievances public is one of the few legal tools we have. The turnover rate at headquarters for non-pilots is shocking to say the least. Even good pilots need good support structures and reliable mechanics to complete our job. Hopefully, more than our needs will be addressed. Our customers deserve it.

Fantastic production quality and amazingly heart-felt stories shared. Let's get it done, ladies and gents. This year. This is our year.

This is so well done. And all true. I’m mid 50s 25 years at NJA. Looking to leave…
Airline pilots are the bus drivers, charter pilots are the taxi drivers and corporate pilots are the limo drivers. And then there are Netjet pilots.
Amazing video. Sad But true.
A great video
Fantastic!
Who signs a 10 year contract. That's a lifetime in aviation

Netjets will be one of the first to automate their fleet reducing humans.

Spot on.

I don’t believe any of those older dudes claiming they’re leaving. Not even a little bit .
Talk is cheap and that’s a Flashy video.
I left 24yrs ago, this month.
Better than part three with the thumb sucking furlough fodder.

Young inexperienced pilots need jobs so net jets could be a new option for new pilots

Ha looks like the company has entered the chat.
Company troll perhaps??
