I remember when I start reading English books. I use to start and keep a dictionary aside so after few pages I get fed up. Then once a teacher told me never keep the dictionary with you. Just keep on reading and reading and after 10 pages you will get to know the story and you will follow it with the whole book. It's been 30 years now and I still have the same habit and I have reads may be 100 English novels. So please start with easy fiction books then you will see how easy it will be. Don't worry about the difficult words. Just leave them.

To make notes you have to read a particular book 5to 7 times,an extensive reading is essential for making notes, and when you read notes then don’t write the summary but write what you understood from the book and topics..
Great sir, repeation is the only way to make habit. And agreed no need to complete a book in A day only we have to read at least it may be a line of book initially and one day we will be able to read a book in A short period of time...
