Making a not SO noisy exhaust - Suzuki Bandit Cafe Racer - ASBO Project

  • My homemade exhaust really suits the look of the bike, but I need to make a quieter one to get through the MSVA test.
    SOMEBODY IS GOING TO WIN ASBO - That's right, somebody who supports the QuickBikes channel and the bikes I'm building is going to be the proud owner of a completely custom built Suzuki Bandit Cafe Racer once it's finished. I'm giving away ASBO to celebrate hitting the 10,000 subs mark to somebody who supports the channel.
    To stand a chance of winning the bike once its finished, simply donate £10 to the channel using the PayPal link - www.paypal.com/paypalme/Quick...
    Where it says "What's this payment for?", enter "Supporting the channel". That way I know what the payment is for and I can make sure your name goes in my hat.
    You can donate as much as you like and each £10 donation to the channel will get you another chance to win the bike as you're supporting us that much more.
    If the winner is not in the UK, I can crate it up etc, but the shipping will be their responsibility. If you're in the UK, we'll be able to arrange something.
    Please, please, please like and share this video as it will be setting the budget to finish the bike and hopefully raise some additional funds so I can include some spanky bits in the build. The bigger the budget, the better the bike you might end up with.
    THIS IS NOT A RAFFLE...
    You won't get a ticket or a sticker in the post, but I'll publish a list of names regularly, so you know you you've been entered. Somebody who has chipped in will be randomly picked once the bike is finished and as a thank you for supporting us will be the proud new owner of ASBO.
    The very BEST of luck to you if you chose to join in and help support the channel 😁👍

    looking good Quicky! you could maybe alter the tail light hole to mimic the exhaust opening :) but probably too much work and a bit of a rabbit hole.

    I've been doing mine for more than four years. Still not finished and that's using the standard frame and engine and of course carrying on with me day job.
    Starting build the loom at the weekend - from scratch, definitely feeling daunted but the original keeps breaking.
    So you know what, keep on going and it will be finished when it's finished.
    It's not staying purple is it?

      Hehehe... Noooo, it's not staying purple 🤣😂
      Building a bike from scratch is quite the task, especially when you want everything finished nicely. Best of luck with your own build matey. Send me a pic once it's done 👍

    If you ride with the balls of your feet on the centreline of the foot peg then is there going to be enough clearance for your heal? it looks tight. If you ride with your instep on the centreline of the foot peg (toes covering the brake pedal) then it will probably be OK

    • @QuickBikes
      @QuickBikes  Год назад

      I ride on the balls of my size 11 feet and I fit ok on it, so I think it's all good matey 😁👍

    That looks lovely, Simon, but I do worry that it's gonna be a boot melter. Even with your toes on the brake pedal, your heel is gonna be really, really, close. If you ride with the balls of your feet on the pegs …
    I know you know what you're doing, but I get very twitchy watching people using cutoff discs with bare hands. I have the scars to go with that twitch :)

    • @QuickBikes
      @QuickBikes  Год назад

      It all seems fine with my size 11's and the pegs on the balls of my feet or the arch. I think it'll be alright but then again, everybody rides a little differently.
      I know what you mean about the grinding discs... Really I need to get another grinder and keep one set up with a slitting disc and the other with a grinding pad. I'm not a big fan of gloves, but they do have their uses sometimes 😂

    Meant to send this a couple of weeks ago, found another channel doing exhausts, and saw something that might be a useful tool, he uses a crinkle pipe to set out his exhausts, looked a really good way to mockup runs etc, really seems to cut down on the guess work. The channel is called Raysons Exhausts, the title of the video was 'Norvin, Sand Bending the Exhaust pipes for a Vincent Engine fitted in to a Manx Norton Frame, Part 1' the lonk if it works is 'ruclips.net/video/neUgGiJcTxg/видео.html' I hope it might be of use.

    Oi before u start ,,, I sent a strongly worded letter to the Mot dept, Strongly advising them to allow your original exhaust to be allowed to pass the DB test, According to the latest internet survey, 99% of all internet users like the original exhaust in both sound and looks. So hold fire cough cough ( ps; I just made a chamber for a cr250r Honda ,,and ya right ...it IS tricky ! mine needs a small tweak! )

      I agree with the OP. The bike should be finished within a few weeks of starting the project and in a completely half arsed manner. I certainly don’t want to win a safe, well thought out and well made bike 🤯
