Michael Freeman, CEO, presents Ocutrx’s augmented reality glasses, called Oculenz. He says they are a hardware and software company, and have the best augmented reality glasses in the marketplace. They’re the lightest weight, have the widest field of view, the most unobstructed vision, and the highest resolution in the market, among other strengths. The glasses have mapping capability to allow low vision patients to map their environments, and then use voice command and voice control for navigating that environment. Oculenz is a class 1 medical device and includes artificial intelligence (AI), as well as patented eye tracking. These are not dark glasses, which can be unsafe to walk around in. The patient puts the glasses on and goes through a visual field test. The edge of the scotoma is located, and then video pixels are moved and displayed on the lens. Eye tracking is also included to keep the buffered image aligned with the eye gaze.
