Shakti Balashram

Rayagada district of Odisha. According to the 2011 census, the total population of the district is 967,911. Out of them, 15.18% are residing in urban areas while 84.82% are in rural. According to the statistics, 56% of the total population are Scheduled Tribes while 14.4% are Scheduled cast. People living in rural areas are socially and economically vulnerable. Because of this, many poor meritorious students are forced to drop out of classes halfway through. Shakti, a leading voluntary organization in Rayagada district, has been making efforts to provide higher education to poor schedule cast students, who have dropped out of school. Shakti Balasram, run by Shakti Organization, is today building the fortunes of 100 poor talented schedule caste students of Rayagada district. In this Balasram run by Shakti Organization, all arrangements are made for the students to have a comfortable stay.
