LAMPRAIS "Lump of Rice" GOODNESS 🇱🇰 | SRI LANKAN FOOD in ANAHEIM, CA

Follow along in this video to visit Rice N' Spice, an authentic Sri Lankan restaurant located in Anaheim, CA. We try out Lamprais, a banana leaf filled with rice, chicken, beef, curries, sambal, an egg, and a whole lot of spices. The staff even let me film their cooking process in the kitchen! This was one of my favorite videos to make.

It is one of a kind and hidden place for Sri Lankan dishes in Southern CA! I have been to S Lanka many times, and the food does not get as authentic as this place offers, and definitely worth visiting!! Hands down the best spot for S Lankan food in S CA!

Not sure where you got the Spanish from, but the Lamprais is a dish inspired by the Sri Lankan Dutch Burgher community. An authentic Lamprais will constitute more than chicken, normallly beef , pork sometime even lamb. Never heard of pineapple in Lamprais & what you assumed was a falafel was probably a fish cutlet.
Wiki gives a detailed explanation of what a Lamprais should be, but regardless of what you may call it, glad you enjoyed the meal.

Kudos to you for employing your hand and mixing everything to eat it properly. Also, what you called falafel was a fish cutlet. The inside of a cutlelt is a mixture of fish and boiled potato and you were right about eggplant, its is caramalized eggplant.

You should check out Pizza Effect at 8237 Tampa Avenue, Reseda CA. Apart from pizza they serve Sri Lankan food. Their Koththu Roti and Deviled Chicken pizza are from out of this world. It’s the talk of the town right now.

the real lamprais not lump rice is from Dutch burgher union cafe, in sri lanka. all others are poor imitations. real lamprai has no egg or full peice of chicken, the flavors are unlike any other. Come to sri lanka and we will show you
