Nice preparation movie! I did notice the difference between trip and race; and the flexibility to the occasion (skip the sleeping bag cause it's a warm night)!
Geweldig weer dit , avontuur zit ook om de hoek . Even over dat Gravelfietsen wat zou Jacquie Phelan ervan denken , die reed in de jaren tachtig samen met John Tomac al zo rond . Back to the future toen .

I am watching these types of videos because I will retire next year and, pandemic-permitting, I will move to Japan and buy a gravel bike. I see lots of bikepacking in my future.
I've been planning a bikepacking trip on my Diverge Sport for about a year - even before I got the bike as it was part of the plan! From Brussels to my in-laws on Skaftö island in Sweden. Nine days there but a longer ferry ride and only 6 days back - total 2250km.
But.
Covid.
I've got to help my daughter move to University in Nijmegen in August - and the quarrantine restrictions for people comming from Sweden to Netherlands would prevent me doing that. FCUK it
Now just planning a week touring with my route up the coast of the Netherands, into Germany (just) and then diagonally south east back to Brussels.
Still dreaming of the Sweden trip though.

Nice refuge you found there, but it meant you side stepped the question of tent, bivvy, hammock, etc which is normally quite important when bike packing.

Nee joh, Laurens is wat het leuk maakt.
Kleine tip gebruik de fidlock bidons! is met een magneet en je kan de bidons gewoon onder je framebag pakken en weer terug plaatsen ( vergt wel wat oefening )
Going to chamonix and ride to zermatt this Saturday. Backpacking with fully mtb's. We will make a cool video about this high alp adventure as well. You will find this on my channel by the end of next week or so.

Yeah, this is great a LTD is a champ. Definitely could go for longer. Just came back from a three day trip down in Kent in England. Would definitely like to see LTD for a week long and see what and how he packs. Also what bags they were using.
Kit details are in the summary....but Bats was using the Apidura gear.

@@tommcmurdo6181 Hey guys, the list under the video is of Laurens' gear. My bike is kitted out with a wild mix of bags. An Apidura Racing Handlebar Pack on the... euhm handlebar. Revelate made-for-Salsa-Cutthroat frame bag, a Salsa EXP bolt-on toptube bag, and an older model Porcelain Rocket Mr Fusion saddle pack.

Thanks for that amazing video!! What kind of system did Bas use to mount the water bottles on his fork? I'm looking for something like this for ages.
HEy TheArtOfColor, never noticed this until now. Some fork come with mounts for water bottle cages, so it's as easy as mounting a few water bottles. This is a Rockshox SID, and I used something called a USB-bolt from a company called King Cages. I mounted two of them on either fork leg and mounted the water bottle holders onto them. They're not that common, but there are definitely a few shops that sell them, or you can find the online somewhere.
Which model diverge is that? I thought only the Pro carbon and Sworks come with Roval wheels unless you changed them
