The safest place would be one where either the police force or the underground triads are comparatively much stronger than the other. In Malaysia, comparatively, the underground triads are stronger than the police force (some even say some members of the police force works for the underground triads). So in Malaysia, it is not so dangerous (in terms of petty crimes) in those underground triads' territories because those gangsters will not touch common folks or tourists so as to not attract authority's attention upon them. Those underground triads also have their own 'business' to operate in their territories and they will enforce 'order' by controlling those petty criminals/drug addicts who probably are more scared of the gangsters than the police (think of Yakuza equivalence). Just don't step on the tail of those underground triad members and most folks will be safe most of the time (unless you happen to be at the wrong place on the wrong time when there is territory fights on-going either between different triads and/or police). May i recommend Fook Hai Building (chinatown, singapore) on a late Sunday Morning (11am+). There's an interesting flea market going on, you can see people peddling lots of stuff. Only on Sundays, around 11am to 3pm
I totally agree with Ghib, use common sense when you are traveling in a busy city like JB and KL and you should be fine. At my grandma's place (somewhere in batu pahat), we can literally leave the door unlock at night as the whole Kumpong keep a look out for each other. If some snatcher decide to try their luck, they will be in for some good old fashion street justice from the whole neighborhood. Penang and Kukop have to be safest tourist spot in my personal opinion.
Singaporeans tend to visit Johor Bahru over the weekends for cheap food and massage, some of them would stay over for a night or two in airbnb apartments.
It is always a matter of probability... Even Singapore doesn't have zero crime. Different places have different probability of meeting a crime, but never zero. So just be informed, and keep your wits with you, then you can stay safe in most of the places you go to.
The gateway is not the entrance to the zoo. Its the entrance to Istana besar which was the Sultan's Palace which has since been converted to a Museum and now back to the Sultan. So entrance is not as easy as before when i grew up in JB.
I think it’s actually fine to eat pork there haha. I’ve been to msia more times than I can count. I think as long as you don’t eat it in front of muslim friends, you can feel free to try out the many pork dishes. The Chinese there can whip up some pretty amazing stuff
The water agreement between Malaysia and Singapore was a lop sided agreement penned by the British as Singapore was the British outpost in South East Asia. Malaysia could have treated its own water and the cost of constructing it is not expensive but Johor and Malaysia have to abide by the Contract.
I think it is so much that you don’t feel a peace of mind when you are in Msia or JB. If you drive there, you worry whether your parked car will be missing or damaged when you done with your shopping. You worry whether you would be robbed when alone. Your family safety. Worry here, worry there.
I have no idea how Yishun even became SG's ghetto area! No way. JB is definitely not the best place to even hold a G7X along the street to vlog.... still a very nice place to enjoy some local food and see a different side of what we do not get in SG.
Johor has by far the highest crime rate in Malaysia. All the bad subjects go to Johor to try their luck. The vast majority of Malaysia is populated by friendly people. You will get a smile almost everywhere, since the thieves are all down there in Johor.
I know Singapore is one of the safest country in the world and due to the security they feel there, maybe that cause Singaporean to feel insecure when they visit JB. But it doesn’t mean that Malaysia as a whole is the most dangerous place on earth. In fact KL is the 32nd safest city on earth. (I don’t know about jb tho). Just saying if anyone thinks that Malaysia is a dangerous place. It’s not. It just have average level of safety. It just Singaporean are used to the high level of safety that they feel that is how an average level should feel like.
My friend's motorbike literally just got stolen in JB yesterday. Also there was a story a couple years ago where a singaporean family was robbed at the gas station and they were threatened by a man who was carrying a needle syringe which apparently had the HIV infected blood of the robber. Although i live literally 10min away from the causeway i don't often cross the border. 😂
I find it interesting that many Japanese in the comment section say JB was not dangerous unlike English comments here 😅 Now I feel confused which is true 🤔
I suppose the difference is if you go as a tourist or if you either live there or enter JB very often. The more often you go there, the chances of you getting into trouble is higher. I have experienced incidents of pick pockets and snatch thieves. Even robbers breaking into my family car. Many of my friends have many stories too. To the point that I don't even walk around with my wallet or phone. I carry a 'dummy wallet', and all the important stuff is strapped tight to my body underneath my shirt.
wow im actually amazed that you respect our religion, actually there are nonmuslims in malaysia that mocked muslim wearing code and their number are huge.
The one thing I really hate is the face veil which is trending now among muslims. I see no problem with head scarves if the women willingly wear it themselves. However, that's not the case. School girls are forced to wear head scarves and punished if they don't. I also get pissed when I see little toddler girl even as young as 2 or 3 years old are made to wear headscarves in Malaysia's hot weather.

May i recommend Fook Hai Building (chinatown, singapore) on a late Sunday Morning (11am+). There's an interesting flea market going on, you can see people peddling lots of stuff.
Only on Sundays, around 11am to 3pm

Msia..a bit dangerous but less stress like sg...i mean the people..but sg always in my heart..
I often travel to JB alone but i dont even dare venture as far as u do. kudos to you Ghib-san!
I have heard of Singapore cars getting stolen in Johor in less than 1 minute when the owner is not looking...
Yaman, I heard they work damn fast like F1. Also heard that got people lose all 4 tires. Tragic la
Wah! Like going in pirates territory..
I'd suggest you wear your bag infront
11:00 LOL that looks like the Palace entrance to Sultan(King) of Johor. And the unmistakeable Logo...

Seems like the wild west compared to Singapore, I guess. 😬
I think it’s actually fine to eat pork there haha. I’ve been to msia more times than I can count. I think as long as you don’t eat it in front of muslim friends, you can feel free to try out the many pork dishes. The Chinese there can whip up some pretty amazing stuff
Nasi lemak , toast n half boiled eggs all time favourite for both Malaysians n Sporeans
The water agreement between Malaysia and Singapore was a lop sided agreement penned by the British as Singapore was the British outpost in South East Asia. Malaysia could have treated its own water and the cost of constructing it is not expensive but Johor and Malaysia have to abide by the Contract.
JB notorious for robbery ,its dangerous.
Jb robbery usually just aim at Singaporean because they know they are robbing three times pay..😂
@ujang senang yes i cannt welicome peopel riecher than mi
@@LinksRoyal Your Stupid So-called "Unic" Singlish Slang Is Even Worser.
@@LinksRoyalgod y'all are toxic as fuck
Zack Immortal what is worser? No such word. Should be much worse or worst.you get it???
My mom got her purse snatched before and she still has a scar to remember it by
I think it is so much that you don’t feel a peace of mind when you are in Msia or JB.
I didn t even visit Johore when I lived in Singapore from 2008-2018! Only drove through the customs to go to Malacca and KL!
@@dotmerah6713 literally means his bike is gone = total lost = high crime in jb , full stop........
I heard johore the only state that never been occupied by japan...
You can go to r&f mall and see nice view of singapore from there
Suggest you visit some Singapore islands as well, especially Ubin
11:00 That's the entrance to the palace, not the zoo.
I find it interesting that many Japanese in the comment section say JB was not dangerous unlike English comments here 😅
Now I feel confused which is true 🤔
I suppose the difference is if you go as a tourist or if you either live there or enter JB very often. The more often you go there, the chances of you getting into trouble is higher. I have experienced incidents of pick pockets and snatch thieves. Even robbers breaking into my family car. Many of my friends have many stories too. To the point that I don't even walk around with my wallet or phone. I carry a 'dummy wallet', and all the important stuff is strapped tight to my body underneath my shirt.
depends on area.
wow im actually amazed that you respect our religion, actually there are nonmuslims in malaysia that mocked muslim wearing code and their number are huge.
That's the entrance to the Palace of Sultan.....not zoo...
He probably got trolled by other people recommending it as zoo 😂
The palace's zoo and the palace are near each other. Its hard to determine where the boundary lying either there. 😅
store at 9:05 is 24 festival drum cafe, along the same street there is a Johor Bahru Chinese Heritage Museum.
now the place become 24 festival drum museum
Some of them are really kiasu....dont bother just relax and take a sip of coffee 😅😂
