Have been in these little communities many times. It was fun to stop at Krogers, pick up sandwich materials, snacks and pop to take on our frequent road trips. I would make the sandwiches as we drove to Cheat Mountain, sometimes to the Virginia line or to Cass. Usually, we just headed out and let the road take us. Been to all those places you are naming. Brings back a lot of memories, have traveled that road. The curves are exciting! Lots of trucking accidents on those mountain roads. Born in Elkins, graduated from D&E College, have lived in both Ohio and WV, raised my family with my husband in Kerens, WV. Now living in Ohio again. I have driven on this road but not as fast as you're appearing to go. It's not possible to drive that fast on this road. Lots of memories!
Those kind of roads make me car sick driving them let alone riding as a passenger. The scenery in the shenandoah valley is definitely beautiful, Been there.
When I was a kid, my grandparents lived in culpepper va and we lived near Clarksburg WV. We have plied the route you are videoing many many times! Thank you for posting this video! Impossible to drive that fast on rte 250! Yall’d be wrapped around a tree somewhere! Too many curves... but great memories of my childhood passing over those mountains! Thanks for the post! I wish I could too! Definitely through the mountains. When you are alone it seems like you are never going to get out of the mountains....especially if you are behind a BIG truck ! LOL

Just took my first trip to Elkins this past May. Drove the same way for my first time. Breath-taking views, peaceful drive.

It’s amazing how many memories have been created along a single roadway. This is a route I travel often as well as I have family in WV.
