Moon breathing was originally developed by humans as the second strongest breathing style after sun breathing. It was made by the upper moon two when he was a demon slayer, but completed its development as a demon and even created new techniques to be used by this style.
I'm pretty sure that Michikatsu tried to learn Sun Breathing but he couldn't so he tweaked it and changed movements to create Moon Breathing, he also created more forms after he became a demon.

Im sure when Kokushibo was human he couldn't perfect his Moon Breathing because the techniques were too complicated for his human body, strength and speed since each moon thats in the breathing patterns would take a lot of speed to create those patterns in devastating strikes unless he was doing single moon attacks which is why there's so many techniques its because he would not only need a blade that could be more shaped like a crescent moon to create his attacks he would need the hundreds of years to perfect the techniques with him probably not completing enough when it came to his fight with his brother which is why he lost he didn't get enough experience within 60 years or so to complete it

I just thought of something the Kamaboko Squad are like the 5 (or 6) senses. Tanjiro has a powerful sense of smell. Kanao has that technique she uses that made her blind. Zenitsu has a heightened sense of hearing, if he focuses hard enough he can even hear peoples thoughts. Inosuke has a sensitive touch, he can be seen feeling small vibrations in the air. Taste would go to Genya as he ate a demon. And you could probably count Nezuko as the “6th sense” because she’s a demon and not human.
