"They need a starter in at all time to stay in games" literally every team ever, that is not the issue, what championship team ran a full bench unit in the finals
There's a couple of things that are happening right now. 1. The Sacramento Kings were a bit of a flawed team to begin with and relied on a very smooth, quick paced offense to generate open threepointers and layups out of multiple quick actions. The only reason they were succesful was by outscoring teams and just having a great offense and relying on solid guardplay from Fox and Monk to close out games. When the 3 pointer isn't falling and the offense bogs down, the team isn't doing anything that outstanding anymore. Adding basically only DeMar DeRozan to that mix doesn't really help much, although it gives you a way to generate points when the offense does get bogged down. In theory this could work, but with so many not real threepoint threats on the roster, adding another high volume guy that doesn't have this, is asking for trouble. The reason DeMar worked in Chicago at some points there, was that their defense was amazing for a decent stretch, with Lonzo and Caruso carrying and everybody locked in. The Kings have none of that, they used to have Davion Mitchell, but he is with the Raptors now and only Keon Ellis and Keegan Murray are basically the most positive defenders left. 2. The West has become a lot better. Giving the example of the Spurs in the video, that team is legit. Same for the Trailblazers, they are a strong team now. Those 2 teams are supposed to be the worst in the conference and they are basically just solid teams with a lot of talent. If your team stays the same, you could probably still compete, but with so many guys underperforming sacramento actually got worse, while the rest has become better. It is not surprising to me that the Kings can't coast through easy matchups anymore, as there basically aren't any left. 3. The season is still very early. It is not a good sign if you are struggling already, but that has to do with your whole team (minus Monk, Sabonis and Fox) underperforming. Their supporting cast isn't as deep to begin with, but they are also playing a lot worse than their career averages, or at least the averages from 2 years ago, when they were at their strongest. This is actually hopeful, as if they uptick again to their normal state, the Kings should at least be somewhat competative. They would still be a flawed team, but at the very least they would always have a chance. ----- It is disappointing, especially for Kings fans, that they were a quality team only a few seasons ago, only to completely falter right now. But they are 9 and 12, which isn't unsalvagable at all. At least their big 3, Fox, Sabonis and Monk are healthy, as is Keegan Murray. (for whenever he comes back to his old self) DeMar is now also a quality option to have. If he isn't overtasked and plays a specific role (ie: score the ball when the offense isn't rolling or at the end of possessions) he could add something to this mix that is sorely needed right now. Compared to the Pelicans however, this is not nearly as bad. The Pelicans have lost 9 in a row now and still no sign of their most important 3 players being back (Ingram, Zion and Herb Jones). This conference is a bloodbath. Even though their games were way more competative than their record suggests, without a lead star or their defensive anchor they aren't going to win many games. So keep your head up Kings fans, it can always get worse.

@@ClareAmel You might be right on this, I do think they are better than their current record suggest. There are some issues with Keegan Murray being basically overtasked a little and not finding rhythm, that once resolved turn him into the really good 2-way player that he was last season. Even just as simple as having Jae Crowder, who recently got signed, to relieve Keegan a bit of the wing defensive matchups might help. I'm not a fan of JC's defensive playstyle, as he is basically a fouling machine, but he works hard and at least provides a good strong body that also has some offensive utility, being a decent scorer and a good connective player. As a Kings fan we’ve definitely had a disappointing start but it’s literally all to do with our 3 point shooting. Everyone not named Sabonis or Ellis has regressed massively, and not just to league average but to high 20% kinda numbers from 3. There’s no way this trend should continue and we should atleast bounce back up to league average. Defensively we’ve actually been okay, around 15th in defensive rating but we over help too much and leave shooters open to often, MB has to find a balance between stacking the paint and closing out on shooters in our scheme. I don’t know if we make the playoffs but we should get back into the race at some point. Oh and our bench has been dogshit, a trade at the deadline for some wing depth is definitely much needed.
Them being undersized and with a trash bench, they always always ALWAYS get beaten up and worn down at the end of the game. This was an issue last year too. It was secretly an issue two years ago. Their failure to secure a decent defensive-minded big with a little bit of an offensive skill set really limits this team and is borderline criminal management.
The kings messed up so bad. The raptors wanted Keegan Murray. The kings said he was untouchable in any OG or pascal siakam trade. OG would fit perfect nest to these guys: pascal to, but to a lesser extent, remember your untouchable future star? Keegan? How’s that looking now? The kings will do king things. It was only a matter of time before it all fell apart…. Again
Pascal would be such a bad fit next to sabonis and fox even worse than derozan. OG cant even stay healthy for 50 games so he also wouldnt really help them either since hed be out when they really need him
Well part of that is because of the player sabonis is. As a center he can't play defense and he can't make threes to make up for it. He puts a ceiling on his teams
Been a big fan of Keegan since he was drafted. I have had him on my fantasy season every year, and traded him at the start of the season. Derozan was not a good pick up and him dominating the ball isnt helping Keegan improve.
People in the comments know ball…..there are so many other reason to blame than demar. The 3 point shooting (especially Keegan), the bench production, and the 3 point defending have been awful all year
wouldve been a much better team if they werent cheap and actually used their MLE (and outbid) for naji marshall or djj, and traded barnes and a 1st for cam johnson in the offseason, and drafted a backup big like ware or missi
Sacramento has some pretty good pieces with Sabonis and Fox, but they need to find a true rim protector. Teams are absolutely destroying them on the simplest of P&Rs because there isnt even one player wearing a Kings uniform that is averaging a single block a game. They also dont hit 3pt shots, although Murray is a lot better than his .287% shows at the moment. Still, thats one player, as a team, they are not doing well, even when Sabonis is averaging an uncommon one a game at over a 40% clip. But the rebuild just took a giant step back, once again.
i dont think we've been fully healthy but like 10 games so far, but i do think Huerter and Murray need to go. if we can package them with picks to get something decent they should do it now while they still can. but i feel like its gonna take a few more games for derozan to gel with Sabonis. lets wait 20 more games and see if we can figure it out before we dump everything. Keon Ellis is a good asset and could get you something along with Keegan. Fox just dropped 109 in 2 games bruh dont say he cant be the main guy when he is 8th in scoring this year. bad take there
I think it would be good of them to trade for Dorian Finney smith and like a back up center like the back up center for the hornets or try trading for Bobby portis
Kings best bet is to tank just this season, because if they don't and get high enough in the standings, they will get NO DRAFT pick because of the ATL Huerter situation. Secure a top 10 pick, and try to compete next season.
The Kings overperformed for 1 season 2 years ago and everybody kept overrating them. They were not good last season and that is putting it quite nicely. The Derozan trade was clearly not the right move and that was pretty predictable. It is not really a surprise to see them where they are considering how strong the west is and that there are at least 7-8 teams in the west that are clearly better than them.
I don't think they over preformed. They just didn't get any better year 2 while everyone else got better. Then feeling the pressure they made some changes that don't fit with what made them great in that first Season
the kings aren't anywhere close to as bad as people think. slow start, but i've seen flashes of what this team is truly capable of and they're gonna make some noise fr

As a Laker fan, I'd rather be in the Kings position over whatever dumpster fire the Lakers are in. Yeah, the Kings aren't playing great, but they can do at least the bare minimum, something the Lakers can't
@AarionWalker ok, are the Lakers the exact same team that they were 4 years ago? Do they have the same roster? No. They traded their championship core for Russell Westbrook, which ruined both the team construction and chemistry of the Lakers. The championship Lakers played good defense because they had good defensive role players like Caruso, KCP, Bradley, Javale McGee, etc. I assume you don't watch current Lakers games because you would know we're one of the worst defensive teams in the league (bottom 5 btw).
@AarionWalker Kings can play defense. The Lakers can't. The Lakers can't even outscore other teams anymore since JJ Redick can't draw up a play to get his shooters good looks. The only reason why the Lakers won 12 games so far this season is because they played against struggling/rebuilding teams so they can outsource them.

Their failure to secure a decent defensive-minded big with a little bit of an offensive skill set really limits this team and is borderline criminal management.
Honestly, I still think this team can turn it around.
Like the channel bro
Demar derozen still good. But he dont shot three's, in today nba u gotta shot them.
Again
at least we have 5 trade assets Fox, Sabonis, Demar, Monk, then Ellis and last Keegan. teams would want those players
Pascal would be such a bad fit next to sabonis and fox even worse than derozan. OG cant even stay healthy for 50 games so he also wouldnt really help them either since hed be out when they really need him
Ur a casual
Give it time!! Things are already turning around
Man i swear demar is cursed his team is never good enough to get over the hump smh
The 3 point shooting (especially Keegan), the bench production, and the 3 point defending have been awful all year
wouldve been a much better team if they werent cheap and actually used their MLE (and outbid) for naji marshall or djj, and traded barnes and a 1st for cam johnson in the offseason, and drafted a backup big like ware or missi
west is so stacked you got to have an elite starting 5 if you want a chance other than that go to the play in.
Derozan is the issue he has to dominate the ball to contribute
Vivek is the problem. Bad owners have bad and/or disappointing teams. Anybody rooting for this team to win anything important is foolish
Fox just dropped 109 in 2 games bruh dont say he cant be the main guy when he is 8th in scoring this year. bad take there
They need a bench. DeRozan is a beast.
They need an athletic big power forward that can make a statement in some games and can hustle. Now good luck finding that 😅
They should have traded Murray hike his stock was high.. it’s plummeting
Massive?, yk what else is massive?😏
Thought this was a Ninja video by the title
I think it would be good of them to trade for Dorian Finney smith and like a back up center like the back up center for the hornets or try trading for Bobby portis
Kings best bet is to tank just this season, because if they don't and get high enough in the standings, they will get NO DRAFT pick because of the ATL Huerter situation. Secure a top 10 pick, and try to compete next season.
Sabonis and Fox are wasting their time in Sacramento. Not a good 3pt team, and yet brought Derozan to make it worse.
Boneheaded GM
Mic sounds good
Should’ve traded for Zach LaVine
Kings need defense. Derozan trade did not help the defense.
Bro if this team had Giannis they would be so cracked
The Kings overperformed for 1 season 2 years ago and everybody kept overrating them. They were not good last season and that is putting it quite nicely. The Derozan trade was clearly not the right move and that was pretty predictable. It is not really a surprise to see them where they are considering how strong the west is and that there are at least 7-8 teams in the west that are clearly better than them.
I don't think they over preformed. They just didn't get any better year 2 while everyone else got better. Then feeling the pressure they made some changes that don't fit with what made them great in that first Season
Trade Keegan Murray to the Spurs
the kings aren't anywhere close to as bad as people think. slow start, but i've seen flashes of what this team is truly capable of and they're gonna make some noise fr
I might be biased as a kings fan but if our shooters can legit just get back to league average from 3 I really think we’ll be fine.
@ exactly ! the amount of games we get so many great looks from 3 but can’t hit them, they’re bound to fall soon. keegan always heats up later in the season too. devin carter is starting to get shots up so he might be back january, and the way isaac jones is lookin 👀 (super biased kings fan btw)
This why I call them the Sacramento Queens 😂😢😅😂
Just shows you have to play D. Doesn’t matter who you got on the roster
As a Laker fan, I'd rather be in the Kings position over whatever dumpster fire the Lakers are in. Yeah, the Kings aren't playing great, but they can do at least the bare minimum, something the Lakers can't
U sound dumb, lakers won a ring 4 years ago, kings lost to a pelicans play in team…
Plus the lakers 12-9, kings are 10-12, what can the kings do the lakers can’t?
@@marleybautista3519 nah the argument is some the lakers can’t do? They obviously doin better and ran better as an organization, and I do watch lakers games the lakers reached the WCF after trading Russell Westbrook away but Jokic stopped them…Kings lost to curry and a pelicans play in team their trash, current day their players have reached their ceilings and now are regressing…
They can't shoot or defend threes in the big year of 2024. 11th seed ass team even with the talent
that team here is no rim protection & they need nic claxton or jonathan issac guy because they need more defense
edit: why did they sign only no defense kevin heurter & trey lyes us ass
mike brown should never be fired he not the issue the front office fault
0:37 WTF did I just hear
This team is really cursed smh
I like Monk , but he seems to get hurt alot !
Bros thin
we needs to stop using "super star" for every good player. trae young and fox are a good example of good players that will never lead you to a championship.
Fox literally never had a competent team around him not ONCE 😂 Don’t even lump one of the best two-way guards in the league in with inefficient and no defense Trae tf you on about casual
You want Fox to avg 32ppg with no spacing because NONE of his 3pt shooters can do their job? Checks out.
@Weather_Nerd stfu thinking you know shit, they basic one way players, if you want be a blind fan, do you. If im a casual then wtf are u. Get them out your mounth and watch the games.
@@Weather_NerdTrae lead a team to a conference championship off the top of my head the team talent was similar to the Kings the last few years I guess there’s a big difference between the west and east still similar caliber players
Ur a casual
whats your thoughts on the raptors they're in a really weird position I feel like
They were like ahead of the Rockets what happened lmao Kings will be Kings I guess
The massive mistake is trading for Sabonis as your center. You can’t have a center with no rim defense unless it’s Jokic
Casual
derozan has a negative plus minus in the playoffs for his career, he's bad. Never seen players more overrated than him and julius randle
The "playoffs" do not define a player entire career DeRozan is not an overrated player 💀no one has ever had in my top of the league conservations you guys just be throwing that word around 😂Is T-Mac overrated because he under performed in the playoffs?? These casual ass takes are annoying as hell.
McGrady is in the hall of fame and has no business there. Yes, he is overrated.
deaaron fox to houston please
Nah
Thanks for give us a pick and Barnes, WC Player of the Week. And in the 2025 Draft Spurs could have 2-4 FRP. Two could be lottery picks.
u gonna delete this?
you talk too fast too spazzed out
None of you people actually watch the bulls 😂😂🤣 talking about they're better now lmao I'm a big fan and I can tell you myself thats bullshit 💀💀the offense is faster but then on defense they give up the same amount of points😂💀
Breathe a little bro. Lol. You're racing through your points...not even really explaining anything.
Just got new headphones, mic sounds great 👍
🫡
😔
😅
They wasted last year using their cap space to just re-sign Sabonis who had one year left and i think Barnes.

Man, I told y'all adding DeMar to the mix will not provide any difference for Sacramento.
Jae Crowder will carry us to the championship
Fire Monte McNair and fire Mike brown, also fox can definitely be the best player in a contending team
Didnt Derozan choose SAC because he felt they were a serious contender unlike LA? lol 🤡
NBA wants parody b/c NBA is $$$. The Tribe has screwed pro sports and society in general.
Kings messed up trading by getting rid of Barnes lol. Barnes added better floor spacing, unlike Derozn. Kings fans are in denial about Derozan and it's hilarious how much they will double down on their mistakes😆😂. Kings fans are🤡
