Virtual Interview 5- Dr. Carson Leung on artificial intelligence & pattern mining of healthcare data

In this episode of #CRArthritis at the CRA & AHPA Annual Scientific Meeting, Ellen Wang, Programs Coordinator for Arthritis Consumer Experts, speaks to Dr. Carson Leung, Professor, University of Manitoba, and Founder and Director, Database & Data Mining Lab. Dr.Leung and his colleagues led a workshop titled Artificial Intelligence in Practice: Pattern Mining of Healthcare Data for Complex Chronic Conditions at the CRA Meeting.
The workshop touched on the innovated use of algorithms to understand patterns in health care utilization leading up to the diagnosis of rheumatic disease. Together, they discuss how these statistical models are being tested and validated and the potential for them to be used in a predictive capacity.
