For the high booth fee and fact that it was for the special olympics, I'm surprised the organizers didn't use a venue that was accessible to people with disabilities.
What a pretty venue. But yes, considering the drive to and from, the fees and what you made, I would't go it again either. Your booth is always so cute!💖
Good job navigating the challenges you met along the way. I don't blame you about the stairs. I'd feel the same! Especially for the amount of the booth fee. I had a similar situation last weekend where it was poorly organized and laid out, with vendors spread across three rooms/sections of the building, and I had shoppers saying they had no idea there were vendors even in our room! Loved your booth display and this video!! Thank you for all your hard work...blessings! ❤
@rusticheritagecrochet oh my goodness 😞 you can always tell which events are poorly planned vs ones that have tried so hard to make it perfect for everyone. Thank you so much for watching 🥰
Loved this video ❤ I was watching it while I was styling my hair and immediately noticed that you were wearing the exact same sweat shirt that I was wearing while watching! Maybe it’s silly but I was so excited that we were twinning! 😂
If you look back at the people shopping, they all ready did lots of shopping before they came upstairs, so I was thinking you were just getting the people who just wanted to walk around a bit more. I wouldn’t be able to even get up the stairs, so it also limit your reach of customers that had the energy or ability to use stairs which is weird because the venue clearly discriminates against people with disabilities. As always your stall and products look wonderful. I love how that reindeer snuggles looks but I just don’t want to pay the high price of the pattern, I’m going to see if it has a Black Friday sale on it or maybe I can justify it by making some for the littles in my family. Is the reindeer the same as the moose or are they different patterns
@MystLily thank you so much for watching 🩷 the deer snuggler is from a different designer than the moose snuggler. The deer is from bkaycrochet and the moose is from neutral knots.
Your stuff is gorgeous but I’d never do a second floor market without an elevator. A lot of people will not go upstairs. I have asthma and I’d be like nope, can’t do the stairs.
That would be tough with the stairs!! Especially after multiple trips! I had a similar experience at one of my markets because it had rained and we moved inside, but the event space was on the second floor… so I definitely feel your pain lol ❤😂
I absolutely love your creations and your color choices. Do you have the pattern link for your trees and snowmen? I absolutely love them. Do you also share what yarn you use? I am new to crocheting and am figuring out the differences in the yarns.
Thank you so much! Here's the link for the trees: creatoriq.cc/3AD2Oym and the link to the snowmen: camrynscutecreations.com/product/clyde-clara-the-snowman-couple-crochet-pattern-digital-download/ For both patterns I use the lion brand wool ease thick and quick yarn 🥰
@dinatempleman4074 the rings on the snugglers are shower curtain clips. Although I left many of the clips at home on accident so I had to use the other shower curtain rings that lock. So if it had the clip bottom, then i just clip it onto the head of the snuggler and it doesn't pull the stiches. When I used the ring on some of them, I just gently placed the lock opening through a few stitches so it'll hold the snuggler up without pulling on the stitches.
Chalk that up to experience. I hope when you say 2hrs drive that it was round trip and not 2hrs each way. Your quality of work is very high. Keep doing what you do and let word of mouth drive the customers to you. I used to have a cheat sheet of questions to ask before committing to events. Stairs was high on my list for indoor events.
Did you know that this event was NOT #accessible before you booked it? Because this is not in the best interest of their customers or vendors. And anyone who was placed upstairs should have gotten a discounted table/booth fee due to the lack of accessibility for many customers who may not be able to climb those stairs, or didn't even know that there were more vendors upstairs! My mom wouldn't have been able to attend the upstairs portion of the event with her mobility issues, nor could any mom with a stroller. (btw didn't see any older/grandmotherly shoppers in your feed.) Yeah, no, I would not return to this event unless I was guaranteed a ground floor space. And with the event fees, travel time/gas costs, and limited access for you and customers by not having an elevator - OR they could have had staff to assist all the vendors who had to navigate those stairs! - you didn't really get a good ROI.
Hi! I don't believe I knew it was going to be to stairs only at the time I applied -- I could be wrong though. I just don't remember them saying specifically there wouldn't be an elevator when I applied in July. It wasn't until middle of September when all the details came out on the event that I realized there wasn't an elevator and I'd be carrying all of my setup without any help. I didn't have help to bring with my husband staying home with our kids. There were a few shoppers with walkers and canes that shopped, but not very many. It was definitely a disadvantage being upstairs + not accessible to everyone. This event was a paid to enter event so hopefully they'd advertise that it would be a stairs only event.
“I feel like I to the gym, didn’t warm up and then got hit by a bus.” I will be using this in the future! Your stuff is so nice!

Sorry about the stairs drama 😢 it looks like a beautiful venue though and I’m glad you had fun connecting with other venders!
@Meganvazquez2012 it was a very beautiful venue. Everyone that was a vendor had amazing products to offer. Thank you so much!

It's definitely a big consideration for any event! I wish I would've known sooner before applying for the event.
