Plus Rich’s channel is essentially typecasted in the algorithm, he is gonna make more views and money off videos like this than his 40 minute retrospective he did. Microsoft has lost its way. Even Windows 11 is very poor and due to be replaced. They have lost Nokia, even Bill Gates regrets not taking on Linux when it could have made a huge difference. They really lack a solid and concrete roadmap to the future. I'm not a huge fan of the current Series S/X, but their business model seems to continuously steer XBOX to "Games as a service" and seems to be happy being last.

If Microsoft allows the next Xbox console to connect to either your steam or epic game store account and download games natively, then it's a instant buy for alot of gamers cause that's basically pre-built mid-high end pc that you can play most at 60fps or higher. To answer the question of why by an Xbox if you can play the games on other platforms, the answer is Game Pass. You can buy individual Microsoft games on PS5 /Nintendo Switch for $70 each, or get an Xbox or PC and game pass and play them all within the subscription fee.
It’s completely messed up what Sony and Microsoft are doing. It’s one thing to release first-party console exclusives on PC, but it’s completely absurd to release PlayStation games on Xbox and Xbox games on PlayStation. Say what you will about exclusives, if there’re no games that are exclusive to a specific console, then what’s the point of buying that console in the first place?
That’s exactly why I didn’t buy an Xbox. Most of its game if I ever would want to play I could just use my pc and with PlayStation wasn’t the case back then. (Ps5 is my first console, previously was psp)
I think the xbox series x is still a good reason to buy for the power it delivers. Games just look way better on it, than on a pc for the same price..at the cost of customization.., so I would love to adjust graphics settings on consoles a bit more.

Literally the only reason for Xbox to launch another console is if they can launch an affordable console thats 4-6x the power and has significantly better development tools, but development primarily relies on the game engines. Unless Xbox releases their own game engine to compete with Unreal, what is the point in launching another console if good games won't be developed quickly for it?
There's one massive thing that is stopping me from dropping $500+ on a handheld PC type system. The Switch successor is coming, will be cheaper, and have a very clear library of games that it will play. A handheld Xbox Series S would be a fucking dream, I'd easily drop $400 on it. That's handheld GTA6....my default system to buy games would instantly switch(lol) Could play Persona 3 Reload and every other Xbox Series release on the go. Honestly a great way to refresh a generation instead of a pro model.

Literally the only reason for Xbox to launch another console is if they can launch an affordable console thats 4-6x the power and has significantly better development tools, but development primarily relies on the game engines. Unless Xbox releases their own game engine to compete with Unreal, what is the point in launching another console if good games won't be developed quickly for it?
There's one massive thing that is stopping me from dropping $500+ on a handheld PC type system.
The Switch successor is coming, will be cheaper, and have a very clear library of games that it will play.
A handheld Xbox Series S would be a fucking dream, I'd easily drop $400 on it.
That's handheld GTA6....my default system to buy games would instantly switch(lol)
Could play Persona 3 Reload and every other Xbox Series release on the go.
Honestly a great way to refresh a generation instead of a pro model.
Maybe it is just time for xbox to bow out and open the opportunity for somebody else that can capitalize on it.
What's hilarious about all of this is if he kept Jay and continued the same old stuff, his channel would slowly die out. His crazy adventure earlier this year killed it way sooner.
This doesn't confuse anybody, whoever wants a console, whichever it is, they will get it. If not, then not. It's simple. At the end, a company does whatever it gives them profit as well and try other alternatives. At the end, it's whatever people choose
